I feel like when a plane is on the ground, you get a sense that there is all this pent up power just waiting to be unleashed. I love it. I'm in love with flying.

The engines sound like PW4000s. Are they? To analogize the power, I like to imagine a two-wide team of 100,000 horses pulling it down the runway.

lake fire My first flight was in the infamous Douglas DC-10. That was right around the time (80's) when the DC-10 had a bad reputation for having the engines fall off in mid flight. When the plane taxied to the gate in Salt Lake City Utah, my brother said he was watching and commented on how bad a shape that plane looked pulling up. But I'm glad I got to fly in a DC-10. Poor old plane.. it wasn't her fault! :) I wish I had the pleasure of flying in a B747. That's my favorite airline jet!

David Gans I love how people always say pilots have a big responsibility. yeah of course they should know how to control the plane and all that basic stuff that are required from pilots. But if the plane totally malfunction there's not really much they can do other that to try their best to get the plane back in control. Usually when planes crash it's not the pilots fault. It's the plane that is broken somehow.

Also, he was at like 290 knots at 7000 feet!?......apparently the 250 knots under 10000 feet rule does not apply in all situations or regions of the world........interesting.

I believe this is the V10 SIKOU of VHHH so its climb to 5000ft intial and with speed restriction of 220 kias unil waypoint RAMEN, the 250 knot rule does apply but at times planes are given no speed restriction after the right hand turn at PORPA.

andyouf It is a tablet that contains airport, route, checklists (the plane "computer" has check lists too). This all used to be in paper manuals, which was great for a different era but is now becoming antiquated. Jeppesen still produces paper manuals for several airlines like United, Im pretty sure. I use a tablet . . . way better than fumbling through a thousand pages of tissue paper (very thin paper) only to find that the departure you need is missing, pages torn, or that the page in the manual has an earlier effective date than what you can use, but the current page is not there . . . it is all assembled by humans.
No app that can control the plane . . . yet.

Especially Hong Kong. I hate what’s going on there at the moment. I love the thought of climbing aboard Cathay Pacific 777 or A350 & heading for London on the midnight flight arriving in London in the Early morning. Got to wait for a year before that happens again. Damn Covid.

QUESTION: Do the cargo pilots make steeper take offs, deeper turns, more aggressive landings since they have no passengers?

  • @johnvernon2542

The majority of my flights from Oceania to Europe and return were on Boeing flights.
I always felt in safe hands in the 747's over the years and more recently in the 777's.
Boeing has the higher ground when it comes to superior design and safety.
Remember their designers and engineers were building the long range bombers for the European Theatre of war in World War Two.
Today we are fortunate to have highly experienced Captains and First Officers with
many hours of flight experience under all weather conditions.
Just go to KLM Asia landing in extremely adverse conditions "IMPRESSIVE".

Great video. I loved the air traffic controller's voice. Does anyone know where her accent is from? It sounds like there is a little bit of British in there but I'm not sure what else. I'm assuming she also has somewhat of a HK accent, but I'm not too sure. I wasn't able to fully figure it out. Also what dialect of British does she have?

thats a ballsy Cathay pilot at 08:00 questioning ATC about his wait time. But it works..the First excuse she gives is “ongoing restrictions”..then when questioned she changes the excuse is due to “inbound traffic” ....what a little liar she is..when the lies are exposed the Wait time is immediately reduced from 5 min to 2 mins..Cathay pilot...BOSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.. sweet sounding liar ATC needs 15 lashes with the same bamboo cane they use to beat the pro democracy demonstrators

That device is known as an EFB (Electronic Flight Bag). Its purpose is for the pilot to access ground charts to make navigating around the airport easier. He can also quickly add/remove charts if he wants to. Its a great tool to use because it replaces the paper charts and its digital
