Viewed from the flightdeck of a KLM Martinair Cargo Boeing 747-400 Freighter.
Very nice 20 knots X-wind landing at Amsterdam Schiphol.
Video shows the full approach from the cockpit starting over the North Sea, then radar vectors were given Initially heading north to eventually intercept the ILS for a landing on runway 18R (Polderbaan).
Flight departed 9 hours earlier from Miami Intl.
Recorded with: Sony Handycam, GoPro HERO3 Black.
Thanks to everyone who has been waiting for new videos.
Many new content will from now on be posted on a weekly basis, so stay tuned.

Gotta take my hat off to anyone who is a commercial pilot. As far as I'm concerned, you all are extraordinary people!
High Crimes wow thanks , definitely took a lot of hard work.
True you said they are amazing
Without the global lie they'd just be regular bus passengers who now drive the bus.
@@bassfishingwiththeantichri2921 What an idiot you are.
High Crimes piolit
This Pilot Flying (I don't know his name) has got to be one of the most relaxed, professional and 'at ease' pilots I know and watched over the years (along with Capt. Boeing...). Very smooth actions, appears to be in full control of his aircraft and I am sure would be an outstanding check ride and instructor PF! He can teach me at any time!
You don't often see heavy drivers hand-fly an approach from that far out. This guy definitely enjoys his job...a pilot after my own heart. Nice vid!!
pilots dont want to rely on A/pilots . Just for long journeys only, but need all the landing experience possible.
Good pilots, yeah. But the lazy ones - and there are many at the airline level - aren't typically this hands-on
Other pilots be like: Let's turn off the AP on 100ft.
St. Denys the Martyr my self starded about cros wind thanks lot
@@Un4ble There's no reason not to, besides pride or practice.
Fun fact: The co-pilot is just as skilled as the pilot
Its Yaboi Not always but sort of. The co pilot normally has less experience hence why he is a First Officer not Captain. A captain with 20k flight hours on one plane could fly with a co pilot that only has 1k hours with the airline (not counting previous training).
@@hunterbruyere5052 I think he's referring to the fact the co-pilot is a full captain also. 4 bars
@@levrac68 a captian with less experience.
Sometimes the first officers have more experience than the captain but choose not to move up, as they go back to the bottom of the pile when it comes to choice of routes etc.

It never gets old, I love watching landing and take offs.
Im always so impressed when I see these videos. Such professionals.
As an A320 pilot, the 747 will forever be the queen of the skies. My religion is Airbus, if I got to choose between the 380, 350 and the 747 I might be hesitant really. Maybe because it's going to be easier to me to go on an Airbus I might choose the 350 above them all but still I might regret not flying the 747. Gorgeous aircraft.. unbelievable.
abdulla noor..... Brother...I'm in awe of all of you guys flying these beauties for a living. But I'm proud to be an engineer on the ground keeping these beauties in the air. : D
" My religion is Airbus, ..."
Okay this one can stay.
jonharson haha I know eh. Understanding the Airbus logic and aware of the systems complexity, is one reason why I said Airbus is my religion lol
Mike Patton kudos to all ground handling/engineers.
hi! as a former TWA cabin crew member, I quite agree!!!
Flying and landing with you gentlemen removes all my stress and I drift off to sleep. Thanks for taking me along. From Vancouver BC.
Beautiful approach by hand, smooth landing, right on the centerline and spot on the touchdown zone
Like a boss. ... a true stick and rudder pilot here. ... love watching real pilots taking a heavy by the horns and own it like a boss like this guy. ... he's my kind of pilot.....
Love the way you say it "by the horns.." lol.
I love this pilot! Why hasn’t he posted more videos?
Did he retire?
gmctech --- He was still using the flight director to guide him, he was just keeping the dot on the screen in the centre of the cross hair. The true flying starts closer to landing.
You can’t pay nurses, teachers and pilots enough.😊👍🏾👍🏾
One of the best cockpit videos I ever saw! It looks like you´re really siting in the jump seat!
The most beautiful airplane ever built is the 747. All the versions. Absolutely beautiful!!
WOW! I think slamming one of these things into the ground or ocean has got to be the most terrifying things life can deal out. The utmost respect to you pilots.
Archie Bunker was the best of
No, Bonin is the best
I thought the same thing.
I'm in love with the Dutch Company! Great Pilots with great skills!
I have never had any issue whatsoever on planes *knock on wood hard* and just watching this video makes me very thankful for pilots that make it possible for us to travel. Thank you pilots :)
Absolutely Love this camera angle! Makes you feel as if you are just behind and to the left of the pilot. Wow! What a view!

to the contrary. makes you feel like you are playing a video game where the target is always straight center, regardless of any circumstances. The airplane movement does not affect the viewer as if the observer/camera levitates on it's own, not tied to the airplane at all. Look at 08:00 till 09:30, all plane shakes in all directions, yet the runway is always perfectly centered. The camera cannot be attached to the plane, it must be levitating motionless related to the ideal path.
Absolutely GORGEOUS footage! Look at how pretty all the green farmland and clouds are! Plus, the dedicated plane overpass is just plain cool! Imagine being in one of those cars shown below, looking up to see a massive plane traveling across it as you drive by underneath. :D
I've been in one of those cars. It really isn't as amazing as you'd think xD At least, not at Schiphol. And you can't actually see the landing itself from the road, only the approach, which is sad but understandable
Very nice ! Thank you for having us on board your cockpit ! :)
PonselleLover
Coach doesn't know about that service.
Much, much better than flying those constant, troublesome, passengers. BOXES RULE!!
Excellent good quality video and audio. I have been a passenger on most large passenger jet planes over the past 40 years, including B-707, 727, 737, 757, 767, 777, 787, DC-8, DC-9, DC-10, L-1011, MD-11, A320, A330, A340 and A380. This plane is still the best one!
Martyn H how about a C-130 or C-47?
No, unfortunately I haven't flown any military planes. I have only flown as a civilian, on business trips and pleasure. Some of those big prop planes would be great to have a ride in though.... When I visit the Air Force Museum in Dayton (entry is free), I look in awe at the plane and I recall seeing a Douglas C47D on display there.
I flew on a fully loaded C-130 from Saigon to DaNang, Vietnam during the War. Whenever the plane would make a turn. the cargo would shift and look like it was going to pile over me. It would've if not for cargo nets
That sounds pretty scary. I have flown to Vietnsm but only on business trips during the past 10 years. A different era for sure!
Martyn H Only been on a Vickers Viking, B 707, B720, B 727 100 & 200 series, B737, B757, B767, B 777, B747, DC 9, DC 10, DC3, Lockheed Connie, DC6, Cessna Grand Caravan,DH Twin Otter, DH-6
Amazing video!
Being thought I'm a retired 474 pilot 35 years of flying your landing was texted book and professional👍🏾👍🏾
Absolutely superb. It's been a while, but well worth the wait. Many, many thanks from most of us, who like to dream from behind our computer screens.
He made that look sickeningly easy. A master at work.
8:15 - 8:16 "my butt hurts"
"900" "*softly* my butt hurts"
thank you for sharing. I love these cockpit rides!!!
It's hard to believe just how skilled these pilots are. Incredible!
PILOTS AMAZE ME......I HAVE SUCH RESPECT FOR THEM
3:39 incoming missile
David Holcomb haha, that DID remind me of the MLWS in DCS A-10
I want that as my car horn!
Hahahaha it is AP disengage warning
.
Don't worry, the 747 can take it.
Get that pilot a new seat! The one he's using has seen better days!
I used to be a travel agent and totally appreciate this video. Thanks a million.
Oh yes. He's back. Life is good.
A couple of Sliver foxes in control. Great job!. There is hope for me yet!
LOVE this bird! Thanks for taking us along!
good graphics!
This isn't a game, its a tech demo to show off the new unreal 4 engine.
i thought the same. something looks off. like in a computergame. dont know if it is real. i watched a few videos like these and they are all right.
Lucas Kane I know what you mean about it looking like a computer game until the camera panned without a blink to the outside view. But you are right. Must always look out for fakers!!!
Nah... I'm pretty sure it had been edited with Vegas...
esquire eventrade G you play hello Charles Lawson
WOW thank you for posting this great video! B747 will always remain the queen of the skies. Love it!
Matthias Aviation Channel A380 already has a bad name. Time to mothball them and boeing needs to get back in the game!
It will end its life mostly as a cargo plane (it was originally designed with that use in mind), as Air Force One (our president couldn't possibly be flying in a non-America plane), or for the few passenger routes left where 1-engine ETOPS is not possible,
Matthias Aviation Channel A380 is the Queen of the skies
Then Airbus 380 "will always remain the KING of the skies"...!
Matthias Aviation Channel the two Ronnie
Excellent, Thank you for the ride!
I have to agree with h, bad asses you Pilots are, true badasses!
Huge Airport, love landing here. Love the bridge you have to taxi over that goes above a motorway, takes ages to taxi to the terminal.
Felt like I was on the JS... 10000x bedankt !!!
Experience counts.. ,thank you Captains . excellent video.
Great pilot and co-pilot...they know very well and definitely enjoying their jobs. From my flying experience as a passenger,KLM has the best flying crews ever...
Now, I'm going to try this same landing with my desk-top Flight Sim. These drivers are living the style. This is one huge cargo-hub, just pull in to a empty slot, no 'Follow Me' ramp trucks to hassle with. Super vid, do like the side-view window straight-ahead shootings, great visual.
thanks for sharing this video it´s so great to watch pilots in a cabin
Hey Captains i´d be proud flying one of the nicest Airplanes of the World. You do a great Job , Men ! Always good Flight .
Its awesome to see a 747 taxi over that bridge when your driving on the highway, gives a really good sense of dimensions (better than at an airport where all the stuff is large anyway).
one of the best cockpit videos I've watched on youtube. awesome stuff.
Been flying Sims for 15 years love it and still doing it to this day. Flew from Seattle to LA. last night in a 747-400 Cargo. Flying to Salt Lake City Utah today.
Welcome back Captain!
You folks make it look so easy. Thank you for another fantastic video. Wishing you and crew continued success.
Fantasti!!!very...very..nice!!Thanks!
Love the engine sound in the flightdeck.
I think you mean COCKPIT
That's so cool that the taxiway is over the freeway :)
We have something similar in DFW Airport
Same at BNA in Nashville
Great job guys love ❤️ your videos thnk you for sharing
Great video really enjoyed watching, glad to see you back regards Tassie John
Nice landing in that gentle crosswind blowing from the right to left. No crab or slip was required on short finals, so this crosswind was tame, and without any sudden gusts.
Fascinating!
Spectacular point of view.Amazing coverage.
enjoyed watching - thanks
Gorgeous landing. Love from India.
Stunning
landed like a boss..... nice job
the captain loves flying. master! i flew with one of them from india. awesome guys. UAHHr
This is awesome. Thank you !!
Big thumbs up for the captain and whole crew
Fun video. Thank you.
You guys make that look easy. Nice job
What a perfect landing.
as a former TWA stewardess I can't forget my dear 747!!!!
HELLO KEVIN WILLIAMS! BEST REGARDS FROM A "CLIPPED WINGS"
Honey how happy I am that you made me feel because you used the correct word. Stewardess ..You are in a class above the majority 😊
This is Amazing
Thanks so much for this fantastic moment ¡¡¡ thanks so much¡¡¡
The footage is Awesome ! thanks.
I would rather stay in my seat..
And thanks all well trained pilots and engineers....
I can not wait! This will be my daily life some day! :-)
Beautiful landing, baffled by how smooth it is. I have had jerks on smaller planes like A320. Wish all the planes I am a passenger in have such smooth landings.
That was cool!
Great video thanks
Bless them! Such a hard job..
Awesome video, you are a great story teller, after all that is what we do, we tell stories.
That landing earned me a large slice of chocolate cake.
JC, not much of a forward windscreen! Beautiful! Kudos to the pilot/copilot, my heart was in my throat. (Obviously, I'm not a pilot, and I have always had great respect for those who are.)
Amazing. Thanks for sharing.
he surely manhandled this bad boy well, how can someone not love the 747
Amazing video! Love that birds!
Great effort and landing with a large bird.
Wow, first it surprised me how crammed the cockpit is for such a big plane. Definitely no space wasted. Then the front view during landing looked so slow, probably also because of the high dashboard. (Also funny how moving the camera made it look as if the outside view was edited in.)
Awesome. thanks for sharing.
Wow, that was pretty awesome to experience. Thanks for sharing :)
Loved every last bit... I say through the roads for the jumbos should have their own traffic lights for emergency reasons
Gotta love the ashtrays up at the captain and F/O.
Beautifully executed!!! Any chance I was able to ride jumpseat in the cockpit while flying for NWA, I grabbed it. After all these years, I still get that same feeling even when watching these videos!
Neat watching that from the front.
That was a fantastic landing
Thanks. Great Video.
So cool !
Thank you :D
awesome !!
Beautiful!
Nice video thank you Mister.
Awesome. You should post more often.
It's been so long!
He might not be able to post alot since he probably has alot of flights
We missed you! Awesome video!!!
