Still what a treat to those who've not yet experienced this amazing Trilogy. Too bad it's no longer Canonical but I do believe Grand Master Filoni will draw inspiration heavily from it to fill in the gap between ROTJ & the ST? Which in turn will make the ST an easier pill to swallow (🤚🏼) for those of us who absolutely hated it. They would likely make Leia OP as F, and change the color of Kardde, Mara, and add in a few new characters that were only there to represent asian, muslim, gay, and lesbian, but with absolutely no other purpose for being there.

So I took the Rogue One title idea and used that instead. Credits have been uploaded as another video and will be linked at the end. I swapped Chapter 4 and 5 around, they flow better in a movie that way. Probably more things I should write here but I'm just glad to be able to get this all to you before Christmas. Wow wow wow. I'm simply blown away by the graphics, atmosphere and storytelling. I read the trilogy 15 years ago and it's great going through it again like this. Thank you to everyone involved in the effort to bring this to fruition.
The re-introduction to the legacy characters is so awesome. It feels natural and well-placed. All the opposite to the Disney Sequel Trilogy. I will read the Thrawn Trilogy ASAP and the rest of the EU!

I agree with the sentiment by most here. Your telling of this star wars story makes me remember what I missed. Also how far off the mark the story telling has been, especially since Disney took over. Keep up the good work, it’s a labour of love and worth the effort for the fans!

Phenomenal! I watched the previous versions more than once, but many extra details are just noticed (like the painting on Chimera's hull). The faces look incredibly real and I loved what you did with Mara's hair at 15:42. :)

Matt Finish did an incredible job on all the familiar male voices. Thanks for putting this together. Very satisfying to watch. Star Wars as it once was, before the mouse got his clutches on it.

I've always maintained that the Sequel Trilogy should've adapted Zahn''s material. It felt like Star Wars, respected the lore, didn't regurgitate the original trilogy or try to subvert it, and was compelling.
@@TheMacKosh Yes the original cast was too old but they couldve made this years ago and/or used de-aging technology. What parts of the Thrawn Trilogy did the prequels make obsolete?
@CardinalRule the background information about the time and length of the Clone Wars and how they went is nothing like it turned out. George wasn't interested in doing any Star Wars again until after seeing the CG in Jurassic Park, and even with todays deaging tech it's still uncanny valley, it's good but not good enough for entire films, even the Luke scene in Mandalorian wasn't quite right and that was just 3 minutes

I've really been enjoying your work. I have to say I'm very impressed with Matt Finish. His voice acting really does sound like the original actors in most of the rolls. His Han, Luke, an Lando voices are spot on!
A faithful adaptation of the best, most well done, worthy sequel to the original trilogy. how dare Disney declare Zahn's best work to be non-canon! Every scene here makes me smile. From the moment that Palleaon was caught off guard by Rukh, to the scene on Dagobah inside the cave and Luke being taunted by the image of Mara, I KNEW this how the characters and story SHOULD have been portrayed!
Zahn Trilogy!! I've been waiting for this for years!! I first read it decades ago and always lamented it never made it to the screen. It was my first introduction to an expanded Star Wars story and I LOVED it. Many thanks and admiration for all the work this must have taken. You have my respect. I guess the best compliment I can give is, may the force be with you!
I specifically remember, one of my favorite parts of this book, when luke pulls the move and escapes the tractor beam, you think hes gonna punish the officer who was on the controls, bit after questioning him, he promotes him or something, because there was no way to anticipate that move, and what he did was actually very smart. Someone tell me if I'm crazy, or they changed it.
I believe that happened later. Thrawn had no use for the guy with no initiative who did nothing his training didn't tell him to do, but the guy who tried something smart on the fly got promoted.
@@KopperNeoman Yes, you are correct. Ironically, I just listened to all three audio books over the past few days, and the promotion part is much later in the story. So yes, this part is accurate to the book.

Incredible job! Absolutely loved it. I believe this is the way moving forward. Do half the book chapter by chapter than fix the flaws in the movie edit. However, be mindful when making each chapter how they flow together and fix dialogue when possible to make the movie flow faster. Star wars should be fast paced since this was adapted almost word for word from a novel the story tends to slow down. This is not a gripe just being realistic that a novel and screenplay are different. Again I absolutely loved it.
I did swap chapter 4 and 5 around to flow better. I definitely plan to do a Part Two edit once all the chapters making up the second half of the book are done.
@@DarthAngelus yes, I noticed that. That was a great edit. It made me think how the director must be mindful about how each scene ends and how the next begins. Also you do not want dialogue scene after dialogue scene. A movie is like a song it has to play to a beat or rthymn. I am just bringing this up for a good discussion. You are doing a fantastic job.
Interesting observation. Considering the amount of content it would be like a whole team of directors and producers to trim the least necessary storyline without losing the purpose of the elements. I think that's one of the reasons the movie sequels VII and VIII failed, the story was so riddled with holes (missing explanations) then movie IX tried to close the story but it fell very short of providing satisfactory closure. I think DarthAngelus is doing it right, his direction clearly tells the story after ROTJ and his visuals and music placement flow nicely. Sure it can be trimmed more (he already trimmed a ton of extended dialogue) but I would suggest he keep the content as he feels best to tell it. Just my POV. ^_^
This is so awesome! Recently I began reading all Thrawn related Star Wars books. I haven’t seen the animated cartoon stuff yet but got super excited that Mandolorian mentions Thrawn at the end…Thrawn coming to big screen will be epic! He is my favorite character for Star Wars now. This is so awesome, thanks for hard work!

But at the end 🚨SPOILER ALERT 🚨 End of BobaFett series or Mandolorian, Ahsoka says she is going to find Thrawn. Which leads me to believe they’re soon bringing him into Disney world FINALLY. So maybe not big screen yet, but definitely be in a series. Keep hearing spin offs are coming, but as long as they do Thrawn great I won’t complain
I read this and when it came out. When Evil K said there was no source material, I kinda let them get away with going in their own direction. But, this reminder of the book what were they thinking, this would have been AMAZING. Thank You.

The storytelling and film structure is so well done.It helps to have a very good source material but the film part is all you and is awesome.

I agree but I think Phasma would have been a good mid tier villain. Everything else is trash as you mentioned.
Thrawn wasnt animated until later seasons of rebel so how could they make him ep 7 when ep 7 came out in 2015 and thrawn is around 2017-2018?

It's a similar scene in the last book. I remembered it the same way as you and was surprised when I got to this part and it was different.

However, be mindful when making each chapter how they flow together and fix dialogue when possible to make the movie flow faster. Star wars should be fast paced since this was adapted almost word for word from a novel the story tends to slow down. This is not a gripe just being realistic that a novel and screenplay are different. Again I absolutely loved it.
I did swap chapter 4 and 5 around to flow better. I definitely plan to do a Part Two edit once all the chapters making up the second half of the book are done.
@@DarthAngelus yes, I noticed that. That was a great edit. It made me think how the director must be mindful about how each scene ends and how the next begins. Also you do not want dialogue scene after dialogue scene. A movie is like a song it has to play to a beat or rthymn. I am just bringing this up for a good discussion. You are doing a fantastic job.

Interesting observation. Considering the amount of content it would be like a whole team of directors and producers to trim the least necessary storyline without losing the purpose of the elements. I think that's one of the reasons the movie sequels VII and VIII failed, the story was so riddled with holes (missing explanations) then movie IX tried to close the story but it fell very short of providing satisfactory closure. I think DarthAngelus is doing it right, his direction clearly tells the story after ROTJ and his visuals and music placement flow nicely. Sure it can be trimmed more (he already trimmed a ton of extended dialogue) but I would suggest he keep the content as he feels best to tell it. Just my POV. ^_^
Just an added observation, I don't think the sequels were all bad, but if movies VII, VIII and IX were told better they would have been better ^_^

This is so awesome! Recently I began reading all Thrawn related Star Wars books. I haven’t seen the animated cartoon stuff yet but got super excited that Mandolorian mentions Thrawn at the end…Thrawn coming to big screen will be epic! He is my favorite character for Star Wars now.

End of BobaFett series or Mandolorian, Ahsoka says she is going to find Thrawn. Which leads me to believe they’re soon bringing him into Disney world FINALLY.
So maybe not big screen yet, but definitely be in a series. Keep hearing spin offs are coming, but as long as they do Thrawn great I won’t complain

I read this and when it came out. When Evil K said there was no source material, I kinda let them get away with going in their own direction. But, this reminder of the book what were they thinking, this would have been AMAZING. Thank You.
