How to add text to a surface in fusion 360

In this video I will show you a simple way to add text to surfaces or objects in fusion 360. This is a really easy process and if can be added to rounded surfaces or flat surfaces!

Isn't the text distorted by the curvature? If the extrusion happens at rt angles to the plane you sketched on, then it must be and the text edges will not be at rt angles to the curved surface.

It’s extruded correctly bc he extruded it from the object. So it extruded only 1 mm evenly

How would you get the extrusion of the letters to be 90° to the circular surface?

The problem with this is that you are losing the shape of the characters because you are using extrude. You should use emboss for non-planar shapes.

When I make a text box, the corner that I drag it out from becomes completely locked in place, and I cannot move the box, only pivot around that first point. I think it could be to do with constraint, but I cant delete it, do you have any idea what the problem could be?

I know this is a 3 year old video but I downloaded the free 360 program recently and I've created some parts in it. I do not have a text option in the Create menu... Is that something on the paid version only?

A better way to do this, would be to emboss/deboss the text, it's a bit more straightforward

if your text still wont work. ive been doing some googling and its apparently a bug that hasn't been fixed, and its most likely the font you chose. so try a new one until it works, fixed it for me.
