In this times its kinda hard to get hands on PS2 and half life decay itself, but it has some alternatives like Sven Co-op or HL Decay port. So, when are we gonna play?
It seems that the PS2 port of Half Life 1 was suppose to be something even bigger. Maybe lack of time and Valve pressure make the port didnt have 4 player splitscreen, online, mod support (besides Uplink), Decay extra levels and HL2 references (like Kleiner relevance to the story). The port however still manages to be one of the best in history imo, and im glad these days is still modded and recieving the treatment it deserves.
@@peppermillers8361 HL2 was actually in development in 2001, but im not confirming that Gearbox know it. Mod or expansions in consoles existed even on the PS1 era. Not something common though.
@@sebastiankulche I know, but I doubt VALVE would've shared their info with Gearbox, because I can see Gearbox sharing it without hesitation. Personally, I like the expansions as they are.
"2-4 Player Deathmatch"... and the release only has 2 player deathmatch and you can't see your held weapon. At least everything else in the game was great.
I wonder if the 4 player would have worked and they just scrapped it since the PS2 only has 2 controller ports, or because it wouldn't have performed well with 4 people.
Its because the gold source isnt made for split screen in mind. We are luck that HL on the PS2 has split screen support. Counter Strike on the OG Xbox doesnt even have split screen, the developers in a interview said that splitscreen would require modify the engine. HL on the PS2 is probably along with Portal 2 the only valve games with split screen btw.
The Dreamcast one is even worse. Yeah let's just not even show the build of the port, just throw in some guy's playthrough of him impluse 101ing and nocliping through a Gargantua and put that into a commerical. These 90s and early 2000s devs man ruclips.net/video/UDjFRH6hzA8/видео.html
Can't wait to play it
It's gonna be great! Wanna team up?

Interesting to see Gina and Collete were originally going to have Orange HEV Suits, and to get a peak at some scrapped levels. Cool trailer!
It also supports USB mouse / keyboard, pretty nice for a PS2 game.
It has to be a trackball mouse
Block rocking beats!!!! The chemical brothers love that song

I don't think Gearbox knew about HL2 stuff, and I'm not sure if mod support for consoles at the time was possible or approved of.
