Made this trailer for half life mainly over the last 6 weeks, it's about 20% of what I wanted in terms of quality and scope, but I ruined my idea as little as possible and this is what i ended up with.
Expect more from me in shorter intervals hopefully.

nah if you enable thirdperson my man doesn't move an inch he has an animation for jumping/crouching and other simple stuff but not what we see in the video, correct me if i'm wrong tho

I'm not sure it's a "fun fact" exactly, but it's not like HL1 was meant to just take place in a world where everyone walks around all stiff like a robot, any more than it's meant to be a world where everyone looks like a papier mache man with a flapping jaw

@Josué Muniz Also the engine was an enhanced Quake engine. Both companies makes iconic fps games over the years. Both John and Gabe made me grateful having a decent PC. Except that Doom eternal is a thing and hl3 not

@@kevinwilliam964 Half-Life was a 90's FPS. It came out soon after people stopped calling any and all FPS games a Doom clone. So yeah, it's inspired by Doom because Doom and Quake were pretty much the best examples of first person shooters in existence, and everything had to draw inspiration from there if it wanted to compete.

@@moonman6425 Pretty sure Gordon was "mysteriously" signed up for weapons training (It was probably the G-Man) and the reason the HEV Mk.IV suit might have High Impact Reactive Armor because in certain experiments things could blow up a little and the Weapons Systems could be there because its a general purpose suit. Afterall its used in the Test Chamber at the beginning of Half Life just to scan some crystal and its also used by the Xen survey teams to fight and survive in Xen.... and then gather more crystals lol.
@@nucleus691 G man didnt even know Freeman existed. He was there to finish his reports. Gordon Freeman joined for Hazard Course because Theorotical Physics department used teleportation time to time. Since its mostly radiactive he needed to be fit to carry the HEV suit with him. Thats why he took that course. But G man added Adrian Shepard on that list himself.

I recently played Half Life for my first time, and I loved it. I'd easily say I enjoyed my playthrough of it more than of a lot of other modern games
Thats what's so special about half life and the series, its mind blowing. They were so ahead of their time.

It takes too much liberties, it doesn't feel like half-life most of the time, and being the only remaster/remake, it could have tried to stay more true to the original.
I like how he open the grate the way one is supposed to with a crowbar, instead of just smashing it to pieces, lol.
But when he has to open a door, he breaks the glass panel.

The dynamics and weight given to moving objects like the doors is what sets this over anything else holy moly.

@@DARK-vj1em Seriously. Half-Life's story is well done as it mixes environmental storytelling with straight up dialogue. Funny how System Shock (Which came out 4 years prior) tried to do the same thing yet failed then BioShock did the exact same thing System Shock did and was a success.

Now wait a minute, the SPAS 12 does have a pump mode for special shells. Maybe gordon is firing those shells? EDIT: pump is for low powered non-lethal shells.
EagleGames95 No I meant he animated it towhere Gordon is holding it how you would hold a traditional shotgun stock/grip. When in reality the SPAS-12 *doesn’t* have a traditional stock, it has a pistol grip and folding stock, if there is a stock that is.

Even if the stock was unfolded, he wouldn’t be able to hold it using the stock, the pistol grip would be in the way.
