    I've had the chance to use this table a couple of times now. It's fun to whip out in front of people:) I can see what people are talking about when they say the legs are delicate, but they're design to support a "mostly" vertical load, not be torqued from the side or pushed back into place. If you just let the table open or close on it's own and don't force anything, it works great ruclips.net/user/postUgkxyFZUPFEey-PuqsPMxqaykBhgA1LWxFHh Once it's set up, it's pretty solid. My only gripe would probably be related to the clamps provided. They're not the highest quality. They do the job, so no big deal, but they could be better. All in all, pretty cool gadget.

    Many different designs for each type of project are also included. For example, there are hundreds of designs ruclips.net/user/postUgkxb2mhCug-GkCWrq69Ce2I0nM0D4QpxAqu for outdoor buildings, from small sheds all the way up to a complete stable. Choose whatever type of shed or storage house is right for you. Pick from fancy ones or more utilitarian designs.

    Greating from way up...Montreal, I work with this drill/multi-tool more and more and the trick is that you have to grab it like if you were (mocking) a gun with your hand, triggering with you longer finger having you index along the side of the motor like if it was the barrel and your thumb will be naturaly on the top of the tool to switch back and forth...and voila.

    Nice bench.
    I've seen other RUclipsrs build narrow Paulk benches like that and carry a pair of them to job sites. Small enough that you can use one at a time and easily carry them to the van, but when breaking down full sheets, you can set them up next to each other and clamp them together, and have a full-width bench.

    Nice job on your prototype and very outside the box thinking for the plywood support wings. When you mentioned the need to support the plywood sheet as you rip, a picture popped into my head, albeit a fuzzy one (read here I haven't got a clue about how to do it or if it would work), where you could have a few lightweight pipes built into the workbench just below or part of the top. And like some workbench drawers that can be slid out either side of a bench, I imagine the rods/pipes could be pushed/pulled out either side to support the work. To bad RUclips doesn't give us a place to add a fuzzy drawing as I am not sure my wording describes it very well. Anyways, looks great already and I have no doubt it will be an awesome workbench when complete!

  • @chippysteve4524
    @chippysteve4524 4 года назад

    Don't overthink it dude! For breaking down full width sheets,simply lay 3No. 2x1" battens across the 2' bench and add 1mm to your depth of cut.Then just keep 'em tucked in 1 corner of the van for next time.The battens will also prevent cutting into your shiny new benchtop as well,obviously. :-)

    Try adding a wee piece of masking tape to the dust extractor on the router/trimmer. It works pretty well for me, though it is a bit of a design flaw needing a bolt to do it properly. It kind of clicks into place and the tape just helps to stop it popping out.

    Ah, the update I've been looking for. Great to see you didnt give up on the Paulk Design! If you look at Paulks RUclips he's currently searching for the perfect plywood to rebuild his benches. Lightweight but strong

    Btw that Milwaukee nail gun is the last gen, it’s not good the 2nd gen is a hell of a lot better

      Well spotted. 2nd gen nailers improve on line of sight, recoil and better depth to nails.

      Ryan .. but not from the 16ga finishing nail gun there is no 2nd gen at least not yet. There is only one real 2nd gen nail gun out and that is the 18ga Brad nailer. Maybe they will ( I think they will ) bring out the improved ( 2nd gen ) this year

      @@wolfgangselle4307 Yep 2nd gen so far released is the first 1st 90mm nailer and the 18g second fix.
      Tbh I think the 18g could be fine for a hell of a lot of stuff the 16g is used for when its work inside the home.

    Should hit up the milwaukee reps, try the second gen bradnailer, the new framer etc. Rate Milwaukee much more than makita after trying both.

    Hi Scott, have you considered mounting a router plate on the bench, or maybe on one of your wings? Great for tidying up edges of smaller bits of wood, trims, scotià etc
