Only because it would annoy me paying more for an old 250 than what I sold mine for. Great bikes and underrated by people who only measure bikes by their 0-60 time

Most modern cars have 130bhp. Believe me, most cars are quicker. I have a ninja 250 and an Aprilia 1000 RSV Mille. One is equivalent to walking as the other is to Hussain Bolt. But I like the difference. Riding the ninja gives me clarity. The Aprilia isn't good at doing towns and slow.
Most modern cars have 130bhp? In what country? HP numbers are going down - they are putting tiny engines in but with 9 or 10 speed transmissions, so by definition have very little HP but lots of gears. A new F150 comes by default with only a 2.7L engine. My Jeep Wrangler with 2.5L is rated for only 120HP. Then look at the power to rate ratio, which is what really matters. A Ninja 250 has 36HP, or 26HP at the wheel by some sites. But weighs only 360lbs wet and goes 0 to 60 in 5.75 seconds. A 2018 Ford Focus has 160HP max, weighs 2974 lbs, and 0-60 is 7.6. A Nissan Rogue used to be a 2.5L base, but now only a turbo 1.5L that they claim puts out 200HP (doubt it, and likely revved up to heaven), weights around 3700lbs, 0 to 60 also 7.5. Those are two of the most common cars in the world and show the typical 0 to 60 is 7.5 while Ninja 250 is under 6. Last time I checked, 5.75 is faster than 7.6 seconds. Factor in how much better a Ninja 250 corners and how much more fun, and no contest.
I just bought a 2007 Ninja 250 only has 10,000 miles on it it is definitely not stock it is extremely fast I only paid $900 for it and it's in mint condition.

I have a Yamaha V-Star 1300. I am actually thinking of picking up a small sport bike for just around town. I love the V-Star on long distance rides, but it kind of sucks for just buzzing around town.
I was thinking you should have your friend's camera mounted at an angle so he can look forward while still getting a good view of you from the side... either that or mount his camera completely 90 degrees sideways on his tank
for that matter you can buy 2 gopro sessions for only a little more than a hero 5 and you could get a forward and rearward 45 degree view from his bike
trevor guzy got my D in 15 after 3 250,s....get one or a 300. They are exact same experience. Engine braking identical, loud at speed, nose dive....all at legal speed
It's quicker than just about anything that isn't designed to be obscenely quick and it's more than enough to get you a speeding ticket on any highway....
Hey brother I've always wondered what a lower powered bike feels like around town. I have an SV650s, and even that hits 60 in like a mid 3 second. I have a TL1000s project bike and that thing is stupid fast around town LOL. I wonder how fun being able to rev a bike out on normal roads would be. The question is keeping within the speed limit - is it more fun to ride a bike with less power? What is your opinion on that?
It is more fun to ride a slow bike fast than a fast bike slow. Unless you're near a track you can use, or just don't care about death/loss of license, you'll never be able to use the TL1000 to its full potential.
I have the option to buy my buddies 2008 250 for 1200$ on monday (10k miles newer body) or something else if I want. I have little experience on a motorcycle, i've rode my buddies r3 probably 6-7 times. What should I get?
Uni pods, shim the needle, turn the fuel up, larger mids & main jets. Trust me, it turns into a completely different motorcycle. Im bettin i can beat a 400 ninja to 100mph
I’ve very much decided I want a ninja 250 over a super sport for my first bike, mainly because the roads I love on are beyond horrible. Pot holes that’ll blow tires gravel everywhere, I need something light. But someone made a really good point yesterday. You ride a 250 you can have the throttle pinned through almost every gear, you can grab the brakes harder and it forgives you more than a super sport. But isn’t that a bad thing? Becoming a good rider is about muscle memory. Learning you give it more throttle and more brakes can put you in danger when you move up to a bigger bike. That and super sports have all their power top end. As long as you keep em below 10,000 the aren’t too bad from what I understand.
It's actually good to be able to push your first motorcycle or first sport one at least. When you ll be good enough for litter bikes you ll know how to handle the power if you have the experience of pushing to its full potential a smaller sport bike. On the contrary not having any experience really going-off on a sports bike is what is dangerous. This is also the reason litter bikes are awful for beginners. They will never get to really ride them since they won't be able to control them.
If the roads are really horrible, you shouldn't buy a sportbike at all, since they are made for smooth roads. You should get a light travel bike, maybe a BMW 400cc or something like that, in the mid-liter displacement, not too heavy to be unridable, not too light that you cannot get it into the highway. That's my penny.
whats the fastest speed limit where you are if you cant exceed the speed limit? it must be a lot faster than australia as the fastest speed limit permitted is 110kmph and i have had my 250 upto 160
There's a red one for sale for 2800 but I'm not home and I have an FR44 insurance! And I don't have my motorcycle licence. How much would it bump up my insurance for an FR44?
Everyone is telling me I shouldn't buy a bike cause I'll straight up die. I rode a bobber for over a year and yeah I had to be careful but seriously is it really that bad?
I’m considering this bike however I’m a taller guy 6 foot 3 and I don’t know if it’s big enough. I would get a 300 or 400 but the ninjas are a little bit out my price range but I’m willing to compromise on my budget for better comfort. Does anyone know if this is a good and big enough bike for me or would I have difficulty finding comfort in riding it.
I'm 6ft 1, I've ridden on my brother's stock 250. It is alright, but not comfortable. You will feel like you need to be tucked in more. You can mod it to have a bigger chassis if you really want a 250, but in the long run it might not be worth it. Edit: I've only ridden it on and off for about 4 months when getting groceries. So take my review with a grain of salt, 😆.
Did you ever find out, I'm also 6'3" and was gonna get a bigger classic bike... but I've been told to get setting like this, but smaller displacements normally mean they don't fit... so how'd it fit?
@03:39 ....that statement could *NOT* be farther from the truth...absolutely NOT TRUE...if it takes you more than 2 gears on an '09 Ninja 250r to get to the speed limit it's the rider, not the Ninja.
I cant shift at all. I hate pulling out a stop. Last time my front wheel came up i was doing a wheelie in the middle of the intersection. Almost shitted myself

It was fun and it did over the speed limit on the motorway. 105 on the clock.
It accelerated quickly enough. As fast as I probably do now on my 600 except you had to pin the throttle, which somehow felt more fun.
I'm looking at a ninja 300 or z300 atm. Only because it would annoy me paying more for an old 250 than what I sold mine for.
Great bikes and underrated by people who only measure bikes by their 0-60 time
I have my 250 and she’s a beast with a new exhaust , makes everyone stare lol
what exhaust
They sound sick ay
I wish my 09 ninja 500 had a gas gauge :'). The things i've come to notice after buying my first bike...still fun though ;)
My 09 250r has a gas gauge that’s weird
I’m on my second one and I’ve been riding for seven years I may get a bigger one one day but I don’t really care
4 years later and I still have the same bike
i honestly hate my ninja 250 and regret down grading to it it's absolutely the most boring vehicle i've ever owned.
You seem like a good guy I'm Glad you didn't beat up on this bike too bad.. I told my girlfriend's son to buy this as his first bike. I figure he can still fell pretty cool, but not really get him in any trouble while he learns to ride ...and i also told him to trust You, FortNine and YammiNoob.
I'm actually about to buy a 250 as my first bike and I'm excited 🏍
I just bought a 2007 Ninja 250 only has 10,000 miles on it it is definitely not stock it is extremely fast I only paid $900 for it and it's in mint condition.
My first bike was a 09 250r, was a great learners bike.
Now I have a r1 since I'm an experienced rider
damn R1,surely you love that bike. i got 09 250r here in indonesia because its the cheapest option in here 😁😁
Just bought the same year & bike off facebook for a couple hundred dollars Couldnt pass it up
What type of bike is your friend on that's filming you
Wow, you guys see a boring bike? I see a cool bike that I can learn with! 😌 unless you was not ironic...
would this motorbike be a good first motorbike?
Outlaw yes for sure, my first and I love it
"Don't believe those people who say, "You go where you look". Nah.. That's actually true though." 😂
Pro tip: Careful over bumps if you're 250lbs on a lowered 250
Lose weight
As someone who owns a miata and just bought this bike last night when you said it’s like a miata I got chills
Well put!
I’ve had 4 Miata’s n now have a prht 13’ in copper red👍.
2nd owner 08’ ninja with 2100 miles & have been debating on a new 400 or r3 but 7,500-8k otd is a bit spicy.
Gonna get a total service estimate on her next week inc new rubber here in sf area. Stay safe!!👍👍🙏
Love my Miata and hoping to get a 250 this weekend
You look pretty good on that Shawn !
I drive a zx-12r and I have the Kawasaki 250 and I love it.
Just bought a 04 Kawasaki ninja 250 just to come here and have Sean tell me it’s a scooter 😂😅
Any words of advice for the Ninja 250 I just bought one today and it's my first bike
Buy a shorty straight pipe for a better sound
@@joshuachannell9356 it has a yoshimura exhaust on it I was told it's really good but I'm new so I really don't know
Ninjette.org . You cannot ask a question they don’t have an answer for. Incredible board. IMHO, washers at top of forks ( $1 ) wolo bad boy horn ($ 35 at harbor freight) headlight modulator ( $about $70 when I got one) Learn to ride the bike and you will not outgrown it.
I got a 2-tone air horn and it’s LOUD. I recommend one. Other than that, I practice on my 250 every weekend or when I get the chance. Ride and get comfortable with it. That’s all I can say. :)
I was given a 2007 Kawasaki im working on it in my case I live in az any ride is better than no ride I luv riding bikes ever since a kid we luv fun
So what were the pros and cons of buying a 250 ninja?
I'm not new to motorcycle but I'm getting one for the low, so here I am back into being on the road
I have a Yamaha V-Star 1300. I am actually thinking of picking up a small sport bike for just around town. I love the V-Star on long distance rides, but it kind of sucks for just buzzing around town.
This help me get past buying the 2010 250r and not kno a damn thing bout bikes … it’s easy i learned everything up to shifting to 2 nd gear in 1 hour
+Jessa Phillips that's what we do and we have 3 cameras we used to use them all, but just using two saves time
This was pre srk glove sales I guess 🤷🏻♂️😂
I’ve owned 4 miatas and I wasn’t sure I wanted a bike but this video confidence me
trevor guzy got my D in 15 after 3 250,s....get one or a 300.
I'm just doing random research, but the fact I knew y'all were in Lancaster county before you even said it is so funny.
The feeling is good
It was my 1 bike and it was fast but not quick.
Engine very smooth to good for 250cc
I have the option to buy my buddies 2008 250 for 1200$ on monday (10k miles newer body) or something else if I want. I have little experience on a motorcycle, i've rode my buddies r3 probably 6-7 times. What should I get?
+Thomas Burket buy it for sure
Awesome thanks alot, I needed an opinion from someone and I also dont want to look to big on it. I'm 5 11'' and 175 lbs
Wind through your teeth, bugs in your eyes
@@cartman102 if ya get some apehangers, ya can get a junebug armpit at 70mph
Western guys are so tall that ninja looks like 50cc.. Try here on asia, even guys usually stand on their toes riding that 250
Lol yeah I'm 188cm and look rediculous on my girls 250r. It's soo much fun though.
Hey guys, is it still reliable in 2023? I am planning to buy it as my first bike 😁😁
thats what im tryna figure out 😂
U prob already have a bike but just incase this thing is peak in 2023
Uni pods, shim the needle, turn the fuel up, larger mids & main jets. Trust me, it turns into a completely different motorcycle. Im bettin i can beat a 400 ninja to 100mph
I love small bikes mostly because I get good handling on it😀 and I'm a pretty big guy
Is there must diff between this and the ninja 300?
I am 4'10 and want to get my license, I want a 400 so bad but I am not sure if I am going to fit
is that 250 lower ?
yh
whats the fastest speed limit where you are if you cant exceed the speed limit? it must be a lot faster than australia as the fastest speed limit permitted is 110kmph and i have had my 250 upto 160
I saved a 250 from being trashed as my first bike went to work on it and it severed me well for getting another one just use this bike to learn
that bike is the same as KAWASAKI ZX 250R NINJA ZX 250 SL NINJA '15?
I been thinking about buying a used one, a guy is selling his for $500 that needs some work. Right now, I'm riding a 1200 Sportster and Suzuki Drz400.
How tall are you? And are comfortable on that bike? Bike looks like mini bike. I was considering it but i am having second thoughts now. Im 6 feet bwt
What is the other guy riding?
Thinking about picking up the exact same one , what’s a good price for one with 1500 miles
Ninga 250 looks good to me 🧘🏻♀️🏍️✨
This guys a clown, it’s a good bike for learners. If your new and want a street bike it’s a good choice.
How fast does it go on average and what would be it's top speed?
Mine maxs at 108
Great video! Helped me heaps!!!
There's a red one for sale for 2800 but I'm not home and I have an FR44 insurance! And I don't have my motorcycle licence. How much would it bump up my insurance for an FR44?
Everyone is telling me I shouldn't buy a bike cause I'll straight up die. I rode a bobber for over a year and yeah I had to be careful but seriously is it really that bad?
your funny as hell bro,,, be safe on that 1000,,, former yz 250 dirt bike racer.
Shame they don't make many 250 two strokes the one I rode was kinda scary.
How tall are u and are u having trouble with it.
Ken Pharaoh 😂😂😂 That’s gonna be me!!
Did that the first week of owning a ninja 400 that adrenaline tho in nyc!
Hahaha, yeah im practicing shifting in the parking lot
Dude read your response, funny! Me too! Would have pooped! 😂

Thank you for the video but i do have a question. I'm looking to get my first Motorcycle and I found a 1995 Kawasaki Ninja 250r on craigslist for $500.00. I it does need some carb work but I can do that. Is it worth buying and will it be just as fun?
Its a 95' ninja 250 for $500, there's bound to be problems that will make you end up spending a lot more than $500 and i doubt it's 'some carb work' . Unless you really like fixing things (whole lot of things), you won't enjoy it.
"Bug in the eye" ah i can relate to that so much that dam bug doing kamikaze headshots like its his morning exercise 💀
im 185 cm height and 100kg can i drive this motorcycle?
Which one is best The R or SL version?
