@@sonsofsun I got my bike! Thanks to you guys! I think I learned a lot so far. Drove my bike from the dealership to my house and it rides so freaking awesome 👌
Probably the best tutorial I’ve seen. Learning smooth throttle and clutch control is essential. Jerking the bike is sign someone need to know how to properly handle these controls. @Sungym , you said when we are downshifting, we lose rpm, and we need to give a little juice to match the rpm as we slowly releasing the clutch. What rpm values for what gear? When in gear 2 does that mean we want to be around 2000 rpm?
So rpms would be dependent on the bike and how you ride. The difference in RPMS from the 400 and the GSXR 600 are a lot different. I typically shift gears between 5-6 rpms with normal riding and with more aggressive riding around 10 - 11 rpms. Remember you can ALSO rev match to down shift I'll link a video I made for that. ruclips.net/video/yBwN_GXKnIs/видео.html This is how I down shift that way I can down shift at any RPMs and not have to slowly release the clutch.
I remember when I first actually took some time to look around a bike, before even hopping on one at the MSF course, I was way weirded out by all the knobs and sticks protruding out. I thought, where do you rest your feet?! I don’t know what I was expecting, to find some car pedals or something? 😂 Oh, to be a biker newb, good times.
Amazing job bro, I’m trying to get a motorcycle at 16 to commute to school but I know In order to get my license I should take the MSF course especially since I know nothing about motorcycles😂 And I’m thinking about getting a Kawasaki 400 since it looks cool asf and an easy bike to learn any tips would be helpful
All my bikes been automatic. thank you for the video. Believe it or not I learn how to ride a manual bike from your video that’s crazy lol… I went to a abandoned mall parking lot I watch your video two times and learn how to do it in one hour. It has been two weeks now I’m changing gears faster sometimes racing people at the red light lol. Thank you
BEST TUTORIAL! I'm new to clutches.. Never learned on a car and I'm a new motorcycle rider. Is it bad to just when you're approaching a stop sign or light to hold the clutch in and click down a few notches to first? That's how I've been doing it because I can get Rev matching down
Listen you CAN get rev matching down. We even have a video on how to rev match!!!! And no its not bad that you do that I just call that lazy shifting. It took me a minute to learn how to do it and its really fun to do. You get to hear your bike go vroom vroooom vrooooom as your down shifting compared to click click click
@@sonsofsun I'm getting a little better at up shifting before it would always jerky when I went up a gear because I wasn't doing it right and still do it occasionally.. I really need this question asked because I'm tired of my bike always jerking... So when I'm coming to a left or right turn and don't need to stop fully I'll do the lazy down shift like you said lol to 1st gear and as I'm turning I'll get on the throttle very slightly and still my bike jerks and it's embarrassing because everybody can see and also scary because it jerks me a little closer to cars and that's not good. What am I doing wrong?
@@rickyrichreacts9667 So if you know you are turning ahead you could 'rev match down' before the turn to the appropriate gear or normal shift down instead of lazy shifting. YOU don't need to go all the way down to 1st gear to turn. Keep that B in 2nd gear. 1st gear is really jerky if you don't have good throttle control.
@@sonsofsun ahhh okay I never knew that. So I can keep it in 2nd instead of 1st if I'm turning? What about when stopped, can I still keep it and take off in 2nd?
@@rickyrichreacts9667 When coming to a complete stop you would go down to 1st. Let's say you are pulling into a parking lot you could stay in 2nd then when you find your parking spot as you approach it bring in the clutch shift down to first and slowly press in both breaks to stop.

dude, I just bought a KRT 400 and didn't know how to shift. your instructions were perfect! thank you so much!
Is it easy to get used to?
@@ucrain4971I bought a bunch of parts and I am customizing the bike, so I still haven't tried driving it yet. I also wanna paint the calipers and other parts, so the bike is currently disassembled. I'll be riding it probably within 20 days when I finish my customizations. So far, I have only driven it once and in first gear lol
Glad I could help!
as someone who wants a bike but doesnt know anything this was so much help
Same! I know absolutely nothing about
This is by far the best tutorial I’ve seen yet✅✅ and graciously thankful for the knowledge my guy 🙏🏽
I appreciate that
I have trouble focusing sometimes but the noises you made definitely kept my attention 😂 Thank you for this in depth video, it was very helpful and definitely making me want to pursue getting a motorcycle in the near future.
My pleasure!!!!!!
Bro this video is cool as hell bro I’m like this guy is straight up like how to ride a bike for dummies 😂I love it

Getting my first ever bike at 35... Finally can afford one... and its exactly one like this. Kawasaki Ninja 400.. Thanks for explaining. Love from South Africa. Using all your vids to learn and teach myself.
this really helps a lot! As I probably gonna get my new bike -ninja400 I'm excited. Tomorrow will be the day! This explains step by step! though I did an MSF course here in OR, early this month and just got my M1 lic. Can't wait to enjoy riding this beast! hopefully I can manage the seat height as I'm only 5'3'' lol I like how you say "give it some juice!" hahaha thanks dude!
Hell ya give it some juice! We did a full review on it showing what a 5'3 person looks like on it if interested. ruclips.net/video/7I7Y5NSRD78/видео.html
@@sonsofsun I got my bike! Thanks to you guys! I think I learned a lot so far. Drove my bike from the dealership to my house and it rides so freaking awesome 👌
@@Evafonda15 WOOOT! I'm excited for you brother!!!!
I'll make sure to document my adventures into getting into motorcycles and also I won't forget to give props where they're do thanks for the video 👍
Hell ya brother
Remember you can ALSO rev match to down shift I'll link a video I made for that. ruclips.net/video/yBwN_GXKnIs/видео.html
This is how I down shift that way I can down shift at any RPMs and not have to slowly release the clutch.
Getting my first first bike next Friday ninja 400, after watching you man! Now I’m very confident in riding my first bike.
Hell ya
Haven't ridden a bike (dirt bikes only) in nearly a decade and recently decided I'm absolutely getting a bike again. Good refresher course.
Hell ya brother! Ride safe!
LOL what do you ride now???
Amazing job bro, I’m trying to get a motorcycle at 16 to commute to school but I know In order to get my license I should take the MSF course especially since I know nothing about motorcycles😂 And I’m thinking about getting a Kawasaki 400 since it looks cool asf and an easy bike to learn any tips would be helpful
Ahh ya man the Ninja 400 is a great starting point and a bike you can grow with!
Thank you so much for doing this! 😍
Everyone will learn a lot from this video! 🤗💪
My pleasure :)
Best video I’ve watched on “how to ride a motorcycle” yet ! Love the content man keep it up 💪🏽
Hell ya brother!
Thank you
My pleasure
Really great video, My only riding experience has been on automatic bikes (So Scooters) and the shifting stuff explained this basically really helps.
WOOOOT! Glad I could help brother!!!
1:53 sound 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Getting my first motorcycle tomorrow. Super excited! Was super nervous but after watching your vid, feeling a lot more confident!! Best instructional video ever and I've been going through a ton of them!!! You rock! Thanks!!!

Yesssssss
2:44 Than moan, lmao
😂😂😂😂
As someone who overcomplicates everything, this tutorial is exactly what I need to see on how to start riding. I take the msf course in a few days and could not be more thankful for this (2 year old) video. I don't think you could've done a better job with this, I'm definitely going to check out the rest of your channel. Also, that vein on your bicep goes crazy, good shit lol
This is the only bike tutorial video I had to come back and watch again. Those sound effects get me every time. 😭😭
Lololo ty ty
I really appreciate this video I just got my bike and have been to scared to learn. You made it very easy to understand, less scary and an enjoyable watch too. Ty! 🙏🏽
just got my first bike yesterday! your video is both helpful and funny it helped a lot!
I've been getting really into bikes lately and really want to get one but I just didn't know how to use the bike hardly at all. Watching this video has made it so extremely clear on how you are supposed to do that. I understood everything that was said and I just wanted to say Thank you for making this.
If I were to have a coach like you, I would have mastered it.
indeed!
I used to race dirt bikes years ago I really need a brush up on bikes and this is the greatest thing ever my man thank you very much 🙏
