Quick question, how can I filter out forever (or even better remove) all the factory presets and sounds in the media bay please? I'm not interested to use them, and for now they pollute my workflow because when I search for something I saved previously, it's lost in this ocean of data. The best way I found is to rate 5 stars my stuff and use the rating filter to highlight it, but that's far away from ideal. I don't understand why it's so tricky to work easily with your own data in a pro software like Cubase. I hope I missed something important. Thanks in advance for your feedback.
Hello, yes you can remove them or uninstall them, if yo don't want to use them we will recommend you to download the Steinberg Library Manager: www.steinberg.net/index.php?id=14708&L=1 then you can simply remove or move away what you don't need.
Name your own presets starting with an underscore. eg. [ _Muh fav preset ] Doing this will make them appear at the top of the list and you can ignore the rest
These video it great to let people know how much Steinberg - Cubase are great and powerful. to be honest no need to extra or third party plugins. Hopes we will get more improvement in plugins. Thanks 🍻
Great job on this. I really enjoyed how chill yet informative it was. I hope you guys keep doing these. Cubase has so many features that these bite size videos are great.
Very good video. I've been going through a lot of them and you're video is the most concise. But there is still one question unanswered. What I'm doing is searching for percussion midi loops. So I narrow down my search to just have loops to audition; so far, so good. When I find a possible loop for my song, I drag it onto a midi track; I may have a half dozen or more. Here's where it stalls. When auditioning the loops, Cubase (Pro 10.5) auditions the track using whatever instrument patch it's using. When I go to play back the midi loops that I've dragged in, they don't have the same note assignment as Cubase's auditioning instrument and I have six or seven different midi loops, all playing totally different sounds; I'm using Halion GM drums and percussion. So how do I find the instrument that Cubase used to audition the loop so I can hear the same thing that I was auditioning...or another solution short of trying to recall which sound belongs to which loop and reassigning the notes. That would be very slow. I'd prefer to be able to play back the loops in my project and hear what I had auditioned. So is there a place where Cubase tells you what instrument patch it is using? Thanks for these videos.
Is it possible to save your own presets to mediabay that would use that functionality? For example if I saved a midi file for a synth bass part could I allocate a specific instrument / patch for it so it can be recalled from mediabay in the same way & would auto transpose to the project root key? Can it be done with 3rd party instruments too or just native ones?
Yes, it works! Rightclick on the Midi-Event, select "Export MIDI Loop", tag the relevant parameters including the root key and save it. You will find the preset (Windows) in C:\user\AppData\Roaming\Steinberg\MIDI Loops. You also should add this folder to your favourites in Mediabay, so you can access it easily.
Why cant you drag a track preset (audio) on a sampler or instrument track? Doesnt make sense. Now I have to drop track preset in empty space, and copy settings in the mixer. Please fix that ;-)! Another suggestion is to make an option to ADD effect chain presets on top op the effect you already have in stead of overwriting all the effects. With alt or shift it should be possible to ADD the track preset to whatever you already have. Cheers
@Cubase MediaBay is great but even your presenter is annoyed at @06:15 by the fact that the sample keeps previewing. The fix: Once you import a sample, please stop preview unless you refocus the MediaBay window. Tx!
Are all the pretty picture icons that show up in the media bay, for samples as an example, Steinberg only content? Some sample libraries I buy from others have cover images as well. Does Media Bay make use of those? Is it possible to create custom folders for massive amounts of content in the Media Bay?
May I ask a question? I want to use mediabay on big viewing. The problem is, when I hit F5, mediabay opens; but when I try to find my sounds, nothing shown on the list. If I use mediabay on the right zone, I can find all of my sounds. Am I doing something wrong? Thank you :) (Cubase Pro 10)
Please, may I ask why, while having the Control Room Activated, I cannot browse samples in Media Bay?? Why Control Room deactivate samples preview??Thank you in advance.
Hey there, I’m using Cubase elements 11 and when I use file browser in media bay to use my own samples, It only shows the folders an It doesn’t play them, so I must press F5(media bay) and play them from there. What is the problem? Is it bc I’m using the elements and I doesn’t play the samples from file browser or I’m doing something wrong?
..I think you should really bring back ,,always on top,, feature of the mixer, its so frustrating and anoying when it always go behind and if you work on a laptop or on a pc with only one monitor...no everybody here have a second monitor...regards
Just my own 10 cents worth. Mediabay has always confused me and this video didn't help. I felt you showed the obvious capabilities but not the details, and how. Imaging was too small (some zoom). I also noticed your were clipping and yet the volume was too low. I don't use loops (except for trying Groove Agent and I also find that confusing..!) I have HALion 3, SE and 6 and usually open an Instrument track and browse but I find it difficult to browse. I audition using my Midi Kbd. But I don't feel in control. I am still looking at tutorials and usually get good info from yours. Not this time, sorry.

Hi again, this video explains it better: ruclips.net/video/7rNl7Ie91tE/видео.html
Cubase Thank you so much, that‘ s really helpful. Can’t wait to test that.
Name your own presets starting with an underscore. eg. [ _Muh fav preset ] Doing this will make them appear at the top of the list and you can ignore the rest
@@howlerbike thanks for that
This guy is better than Dom. I like how smooth he explained everything without showing his face.

Thanks 🍻
Thank you!! You’re a jewel. I’ve learned a lot about MediaBay in just in 12 minutes. Thank you!👊😎🙏🏾
Thanks for a really great tutorial/tips video. I learned a lot from this! :)

These are so useful. Keep em coming please!
Had Cubase for years and never used any of this! Thank you!
Nice lesson Andy !
Thank you for all the tutorial videos, they are amazing!
very well done andy!!!! nice tips!

Love this tutor!!! Who is this? Name? Possible to get more from his lessons?
I wish my media bay moved that fast. Very informative presentation as usual.
Is it possible to search for loops using time signature? I am trying to get 3/4 loops in cubase 10.

Also interested in this, will have to try it soon

Hi Great demo
I find that I'm not always able to preview sample/ sounds. what am I doing wrong?
If you could highlite the mouse pointer it would help a lot...?
When searching audio in the Media Bay, is it possible to choose to see either just one shots or loops?
Does the selected sample conform to the root key in all versions of Cubase

In C13 loops and samples content is empty. When I open C12, I can see all packs.
Sir, thanks a lot, but its hard to listen to your voice while in the background thouse awesome vocal samples are playing ;)
Basically like the old times in Acid (1998).
Is this working in my Cubase 8.5 version?
Thank you 🙏
How to select a region of a sound effect in mediabay?

Sometimes when I open Mediabay all I can audition are different snares through all libraries and I can't find out how to change that. (Cubase 8.5).

Great, thanks. Automtic translation tu spanish would be wonderful to have.
Fantastic tutor. My weirdy beardy ring thumb guy is the best teasher on the net. Period. But you have now disappeared.. where did you go Andy?
Please, may I ask why, while having the Control Room Activated, I cannot browse samples in Media Bay?? Why Control Room deactivate samples preview??Thank you in advance.

The key transpose that sets the key of the composition doesn't have minor keys how would I get around that? Thanks
Each minor key has its equivalent major key, like for Aminor, the equivalent major key is Cmajor.
You are Aussie right?
I see no mediabay in my nuendo 11 mediabay where where is the media Bay explain that
👌👌👌🙏

if my project is in 3/4 how can I use the mediabay because they are all in 4/4
Cultivate and develop 3/4 loops and samples. Then, make sure to tag the appropriate time signatures. Most DAWS include 4/4 based content.
Cubase pro. So f ing powerful
Very hard daw to learn
