I tried this stitch in May & found the tutorial I got it from to be confusing. Even the written directions were confusing. Giving more focused attention to that tutorial would have helped! This was not a pattern one could put on automatic & go. You must pay attention. Your tutorial is great. I will try this again in the future. Thank you.

Sheri Bryson I’ve tried this stitch pattern myself and thought it was a little difficult and I’ve been crocheting for over 50 years but this tutorial makes sense to me and not confusing. Thanks to the presenter for making it so. 👍🏽🤗

This is the third video of the Alpine Stitch that I’m trying. I couldn’t figure out what I was doing wrong. It just looked like a jumble of stitches. Then, after row 4 you said that you have to pull up the post of the stitch that was a double crochet in the previous row, not the post that you worked the fpdc in the previous row. I had started to just get lines of fpdc sticking up, not a pretty pattern of mountains!! Thank you for pointing that out. Apparently the other RUclipsrs assumed that I would automatically pick up in that, but , Duh!! I didn’t. It looks much better now.

I have a beginner question. When you begin your single crochet row, you put a single crochet into your chain one stitch, does this add a stitch to your row? Most of the videos I have watched they say to skip that stitch and that it counts as your first one. This is a great pattern and I have this video saved to try after my latest project is finished, I am just concerned I'm going to mess it up. Sorry if this is a dumb question.

Sarah I really like the yarn that you always use. Would you please let me know the brand name? Thank you.

Does this stitch use too much yarn when crocheting it?
