For me, this song is special, because it speaks of a love not yet materialized, so completely devoid of materiality, ideal, pure. It's an unreal image, to see a metal band singing about that. As if the world we are in can be rebuilt on ideal premises, this is the feeling you are left with, of inner elevation.
Thank you for continuing this journey with us. And don't pay too much attention to negative feedback, react to your own feelings.

Great reaction. You're not alone in finding Floor a beautiful woman but she also seems to have an inner beauty that somehow also shines through, if that makes sense.
I mean, first take her physical beauty and the stunning visual impression she makes, her height, her Xena outfits, the elegant way in which she moves. Add her voice and technique and emotional delivery and storytelling, for which I struggle to find words that do not sound trite or cheesy, but which are about as good as it gets. Then add the confidence in how she bears herself, far beyond what many women can muster (which is, I think, why many develop a girl crush on her, and the confidence is tempered by taste and restraint, which I suppose women also applaud). All that gives an impression of immense, unusual and unexpected strength that could be scary or demoralizing but isn't because there's this all-permeating emotional warmth that she radiates. It's little wonder that taken all together the effect is like a beautiful, strong but benevolent goddess. You somehow feel protected instinctively, that in you're in good hands, if that makes sense.
Back in 2004 when she was in after forever. I had the privilege to meet her and the band. We had a few beers and we talked for about an half hour. She really is a really nice person. As beautiful inside as she is outside. ❤️🤘Made a impression for a lifetime for me
She has a presence on stage that is striking. I don't think she's overly good looking but she is very attractive when she performs. And she looks way better here than after the tats, IMO
Saw Nightwish twice - both with Floor - smaller event centers in TX, USA. Both amazing! Great analysis - many pauses just mean more breakdown of the song. Pause all you like!!
Chase Carneson is another great analyzer and also pauses quite a bit - to great evals.
For me the aura around Floor that you speak of is her perfect pitch, she NEVER hits a bad note, not even CLOSE to a bad one. Even her screams are perfect.
This is a song for the love one believes is out there but has yet to find.
They believe that love is out there and so they ask, "Ever dream of me?"
Floor has such a projective voice, and even hitting those high notes.... it's so soft. That's what gets to the listener. ❤

The song is about an unrequited love. The imageries is that of a daydream, imagining being together with someone who doesn’t feel the same way for you. It’s a plea to be noticed, “Dream of me.”
Of course you can do what you want on your channel, but if you allow comments then we can also express what we feel on them. Pausing is great, you make very good points when you pause, but it is better when the pause comes between verses and not in the middle of singing or solos. Nightwish always builds the song into a big finish and stopping it then interrupts the whole flow and feeling of the song. These are all opinions and suggestions, you are definitely free to take them or not!!!

There is an exception to the rule about always doing Nightwish live. That exception is anything with Anette (second singer) She was really strong in the studio, not so much live. Some of it might be due to her stage fright. But with Anette the official videos are better.
Montreaux 2012 was good but, by then, pregnancy and illness were already going to tell.......
hey Fable, so when some folks refer to pausing often or going back a bit b4 restart for continuity is more for the first time listener/viewer and for their 1st impression/experience of NW :) cheers and btw love your enthusiasm and appreciation for Floor's phenomenal vocals, but there is soooo much more to experience with her.

The amount of pausing is not the problem, pausing right in the middle of the notes ist whats bad, at least for me.
Pausing is just fine, just hit the back 10 seconds button before you restart. It helps keep the mood going! Nightwish is an experience, not just a band. Floor’s singing hits me at an intensely emotional level.

I'll tell you what it is about Floor. She embodies the song. There is no artifice or ego in her stage presence. She is there to convey the spirit of the lyrics. She is humble before the power of music and is respectful of song writer's intent. She allows her instrument to be a conduit to visceral emotions.

I think what you’re talking about re: Floor’s “ X Factor” is that while she is externally beautiful, she has an inner beauty that shines through. If you watch any of the videos on her personal RUclips channel where she talks about her daily life, or interviews friends, you’ll see that she’s a beautiful soul as well as a beautiful person.

Crescendo. I believe the word you're looking for is crescendo. And I agree - great live show. And on the pause front, I think (for the most part) your pauses are constructive and apropos - especially because they're not boring. But sometimes when people pause it breaks the rhythm for the guy doing the reaction more than it does for us watching. Either way, this is a good channel!
Now its time to react to those studio versions live! From that same Show beacause it has the best quality. Great reaction as always, and yes this is basically love song since tuomas wrote this to tarja and after she got fired there hasnt been anything love related really. Also i had no problems with pauses. It was unique compared to other reactors. If you want you can react to (last ride of the day) Its Amazing, its also the last song of that show. But if you want to build your way to that its fine!
I've always been into symphonic metal. Nightwish, Within Temptation, kamelot, Sunburst etc. I genuinely would adore to introduce you to so much but I know you must be absolutely snowed with requests. If you do ever get the opportunity to go and see nightwish, try and get there as the atmosphere while you're there is beyond any live video. I adore your content and has honestly kept me smiling and kept my chin up through so much. I hope you understand how awesome you are.

Since you bring it up...Floor's facial beauty is non-standard. Sophia Loren was the same way (with a very different look). Nose all wrong, mouth too wide, etc. But put it all together and you get something you unique and different. It's uncommon, except in places like Brazil or parts of French Polynesia.

Man I feel you. Metal isn't my genre. I listen to the Gorillaz and fuckin Fleetwood Mac, Janis. But this band, and this singer... I just can't get enough. You once were a Rap fan, now you're a Nightwish fan. So will you ever listen two 3 minute 1 octave tralala songs from the charts again, now that you know the good stuff?
As an almost lifetime metal head and NW fan since 1998, I don't see your point? I love almost every genre of music, as long as it has something to offer musically. Some people don't like Classical music, some don't like Heavy Metal, some may love Rap or Jazz. For me it's mostly music and vocals as an instrument what makes music so great. I don't need deep touching lyrics, just melody and feel. Some need lyrics that touch their soul or at least what they can relate. If one has been a lifetime Rap fan, do you honestly think that he/she doesn't still love it after finding something new...or even better? Of course he does. This just widens his musical awareness, and maybe he even starts to prefer Nightwish over Eninem or Linkin Park, but I'm sure he will still love them as well.
At least I can't imagine that kind of situation, where adult changes his/hers musical taste so radically, that they don't like their old favorites anymore. For me it would need some event that has nothing to do with music itself...like my favorite artist should be convicted from child abuse or rape for example. Of course it's possible to get bored for a while, but that will pass.
I think Tuomas' pipe/Korg contraption should properly be called the "Sampo". Finns will understand.

To me, they are a true band. No one steps on another, egos are shelved, they work as an organism to produce a musical piece. The choreography might be subtle, but it is the same from venue to venue, space permitting. Emppu must have played his 'solos' 10,000 times or more, yet everything seems fresh, organic. My favorite band. Floor's eyes must flash reflexively by now. Yet as a band, they were young with Floor as singer. They introduced her as their new singer near the beginning of this set at Wacken 2013. It only gets better. Watch for the Time Traveler :).
