The thing is they don’t even use the sights. It’s like in video games you don’t really use the crosshairs when you’re fast enough. Just a flick. Most people don’t have $50,000 to spend on getting that good but some do.

This series seems a bit rushed. It is difficult to really grasp the concepts when each segment is very short and mostly talk. I don't know if it is just me, but the fact that you cannot see the eyes of the instructor also makes it harder to focus on what he is talking about. Video production quality is on point as always :-)
It may just be you... or rather the way you're wetwired to learn most effectively. I am vision-oriented- show me a picture and skip the lecture or supplement with a little text. I have a hard time with verbal instruction and don't care where the instructor is looking unless I'm being dressed down. For me it's a learned skill to take verbal instruction where visual instruction is instinctive. Figure out how you learn best and work on getting better at what you weren't born with. Take your phone to the range with a copy of the video and physically follow along, drilling as he speaks (earbuds under your earpro). If nothing else you will find out if you can learn purely verbally.
the guy thinks that because he is former grunt (so he says) & a SWAT cop that he is a gunfighter with a private training business, the first 2 makes him high speed. he is puking up something he has been told like teaching a PD recruit class and that everyone thinks he knows how cool he is with his POLCE ID (above the USA flag. . sounds like he is more busy with impressing himself than being an instructor of gunfighting. UFPro makes great gear the US training reps they pick lack some class.
@@xusmico187not that Rick cares really what you think probably but I have actually spoken to Rick on the phone and have been following his page for some time now. I have watched several interviews and my first encounter is he is truly a humble individual and great for the gun community as hole. And yes he is doing amazing things for LE community as well that is much needed. He is high speed and but his way of explaining as well as many other instructors is spot on. I don't know you maybe you are a superb shooter hopefully so but I don't see a reason to bash a man with the talent this man has and willing to share to others. This channel is awesome and seems to bring great quality as always to it.
If you run irons, hit the range and train with a shot timer. Get very proficient with it, by gradually reducing the shot time on your timer. It will become muscle memory before you know it.
@@osisikenny thanks, but I've been shooting handguns since I was 12, muscle memory is good but can't seem to shoot with both eyes open(which apparently RDS helps with that)even with all the practice I do. Any times with that?
@@ginger0208 Almost all my handguns have RDS, and they are great for staying target focused. Seems quicker to get on target as well, for me anyway. Also great for maintaining awareness since you have both eyes open, and keep your depth perception and peripherals. You can still be fast and effective with irons, just like snipers of old, were effective without glass. I google and RUclips transition drills before i hit the range, then i practice them. At home, i dry fire by transitioning to different small objects in the room, like light switches. Seems to work for me. Since you have been shooting handguns for a while, if you say you still can’t master shooting iron with both eyes open, i believe you. Sounds like your department needs to do a handgun upgrade. Until then, seems like you gotta work with what you got.
@@osisikenny yea, but I run irons on all my guns except my AK and hunting rifle. As for service pistol, we aren't allowed to do any form of permanent customization which includes mounting plates for RDS. Hell, I couldn't even run a torch with the model I was first issued. Luckily we had more freedom with our rifles as long as we are alright with buying the after market handguards and so on ourselves(the denel defense upgrade packages for the R5 rifle, gets you 4 picatini rails, a new buttstock and new muzzle break)which cost a pretty penny coming out of our own pockets but at least it gives me the option to run an optic and light. We definitely need some upgrades but our budgets keep getting cut, but I'll be looking into RDS for probably my glock 17 and glock 19. Thanks for the help and knowledge!
Iron sights and target focus (any distans) seems to be the new black in competition shooting, waiting to see that migrating to the tactical space in a few years maby
bad explanations and bad metaphors. Also The previous UF PRO vids were directed FOR the crowd looking at them, not filming an instructor instructing some other guys. Not so happy...
Wouldn't the average non wannabe John Wick non "tacticool" gear nerd gun owner/CCW carrier have just iron sights? How many average gun owners can afford/have the motivation/inclination to carry with a red dot sight? I love the gear as much as the next red blooded person but I don't have the time or money to worry about red dot sights. I would never carry with red dot sights. I would assume the statistical mean would fall into this category as well. Not everyone is "LEO", ex spec ops Instructor Zero level carrier...or will they ever be.
You don’t have to be a wanna be to have a red dot. It’s all about preference. You have affordable rds like any vortex, holosun, even Leupolds aren’t that expensive. Just cause you don’t like to use red dot doesn’t mean you can speak for everybody 🤷🏽♂️
Little too fast talking, too little information density and not enough step by step instuctions. This is not doing it for me, I don't feel like there is much information that I can pick up and the information that is there doesn't stick. The overall cut and quality is really nice, but the core think does not get across, sadly.
Not on duty, take off police ID, I expect a Marine to know that nothing, but nothing is above the US flag. so how must time do you put into training for your suppressor sights when the RDS goes down? sexy gun, what do those with basic issued duty guns do? Love my UF Pro gear, wish they would get better trainers (Hailey, Gunsight, Vickers, Lamb come to mind) to represent their hear. Common trend is that because someone is a cop or military "combat veterans" and they have great range skills is that they are real gunfighters.
I’m pretty sure the saying “Aim small, miss small” was always meant to be perceived and understood as aiming, focusing and obsessing on hitting a small target will make you more likely to miss the target altogether rather than aiming at a larger part of the target. Hence why COM is a better idea to shoot at in general, since it’s still an area full of vital organs but also a larger target. If you try to hit a smaller target at distance, like the head, then naturally you’re going to have a higher percentage of misses.
That's not the correct interpretation. Take, for example, we're shooting at a barn. If I shoot to hit the barn, I'll most likely hit the barn (but where)? Now, if I focus on hitting the doorknob of the personnel door, and I miss, I'm still going to hit the barn, but I'll slightly miss the doorknob. Now apply that principle to a human.
@DomesticPenguin anything out of a stock gun with just some nights sights that’s how you train, not all this apex trigger, trijicon RMR, fluted barrel and slide. That’s cheat shit, become that good with regular trigger and night sights
Ok, wow! I do not have the opportunity to go to the range, or use these type of weapons. I do have a vr mil sim, where I use these kinds of tactics (they translate fantastically into the game.) This absolutely changed the way I view the red dot sight for a pistol, as I had the mentioned issue of looking for the dot. I am so glad I found this, ThankYou!
