Ok, this is brilliant. Please explain what wireless controllers you used and the system it’s linked too. I have a master stat thermostat, the screen just blacked out completely. So I’m looking to fix it and upgrade.
I am using a master stat too. I leave it in manual mode on low cool. Then I can switch the pump and fan on and off with wifi switches I mounted in the box with the controller board.
Hello. I came across your video and I'm curious how this worked out for you through the remainder of the summer months. The evap cooler on my house uses a thermostatic control, which is entirely mechanical, and I have to manually switch it on/off. Most of the controllers I've seen seem mediocre, so I was considering different smart relay options (Sonoff and other brands). Any updates on how your experience with this would be appreciated. Thanks!
It has been a game changer. My controller has a thermostat, but it always short cycled the cooler and drove me crazy so I had to basically used it as an on/off switch. I have a two story house with one controller up stairs and one down. I used to have to go upstairs to turn off the cooler each time. Now, I can control it from the couch. Also, If we are out of town and return home, I can switch it on from the road an hour before we arrive and have the house nice and cool. My nest thermostats which control my heating and AC give me a readout on my phone so I can tell when I need to switch on some cooling or when I can switch it off. I can even control the evap coolers based on the readout from the nests. I am loving this home automation stuff.
I used these: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0B3DLR7TK/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1 but I think similar switches would work just as well.
