  • Welcome back to the Blossom Crochet tutorial channel! I will show you how to crochet THE most incredible stitch! This 'Half Spiked' Granny Stripe is a great dense project and super easy to work up once you get going - just a TWO ROW REPEAT! It's absolutely STUNNING when worked in rows of contrasting colours.

    The colors you’ve chosen are absolutely gorgeous! I love working a pattern that carries the yarn up the side so there are fewer tails to weave in. I don’t really mind the weaving in, but I feel that the project is more secure with less knots joined.

    This is my favorite blanket pattern. I made it to fit the top of my queen size bed. I used black and bright self striping yarn. This looks amazing and is so simple. Thank you.

    a super simple and effective colour stitch. I’m using it for a flat rectangle that will be folded in half and stitched together to create a doll’s beanie. Love this

    Love it love it love it!! The stitch and the contrast of the colors, it’s absolutely beautiful 🤩❤🤩 and another plus is that by alternating the colors every two rows, you can save time in weaving the yarn. Any suggestions for a simple border? 🤔

    While I avoid working with black, because, well, I can't see it. Being that the black would mostly be grannies, I could do this. It really is a stunning contrast.

      Yes!! Exactly like that!🥰 as I don’t well with keeping track of multiples and with how big I want to do a blanket of this design, I would definitely lose track very very quickly..🤣

    Just started a baby blanket using your tutorial and love the way it is working. I found it best for my tension to use a size larger hook for the chain and foundation row. Any suggestions as to a suitable border for this please?

    Beautiful color choice. Did you use Ice Yarn? Edges seem nice & straight, so I wouldn’t mind weaving tails. But if yarn is carried, what sort of border would you suggest? Thank you for sharing. Lynn in California

      It is indeed Ice Yarn! 🌸 Any border would work so long as you used a round of UK Doubles (US Singles) first, to cover the yarn being carried. :)

    What black yarn are you using? I’ve bought the Picasso but my favourite yarn is Scheepjes Chunky Monkey and it’s too thick, I think.

      I’d work a round of U.K. double crochet all around and then you can build any border you like on top of that 🌈 I’m think I may do moss stitch - alternating between the two colours ☺️

    How do you get the ends to be even

      The top and bottom? I finish on a row of traditional granny stitches and then add a row of U.K. double crochets - that way the top and bottom are pretty much the same 🌈

    Hi! Love the colours you showed in the beginning! 😍 However, it is hard to follow you because you aren’t showing where you are crocheting into one of the stitch. And you didn’t say the additional chains after doing the multiples of 3. I gave up on this and found someone else on RUclips who has done the same pattern.

      Adding three additional chains isn’t necessary when working this stitch pattern which is why I didn’t do that in my tutorial 🌸 Sorry to hear you couldn’t follow along!
