thanks mate, we'll see what boris says with this announcement he's going to make later today, fingers crossed we'll be able to get out even if it's only on a limited basis👍
thanks mate, bring on the river season indeed, i'll be missing the first week or two so I can fish a carp water that still has the traditional close season, they are easier to catch at the start when they have been under no angling pressure for months👍 after that i'll be heading to the river for sure👍🎣
Great fishing mate, I’m off to Preston boats tomorrow for a short session, fishing is very addictive and my wife now believes I’ve got a obsessive disorder 😂 I’m sure that I’m not the only one after watching your vids. 👍👍
thanks mate, i like to mix it up on my channel so i sometimes fish for species other than carp, the barbel and lure fishing i do seems to be very popular, more so than the carp stuff in fact, mind you barbel fishing is pretty good, the bites they give are amazing and they are one of the best fighting fish we have👍
Mark Carp I’m annoyed we don’t have barbel here in Northern Ireland as I would be targeting them! Love barbel and chub fishing! Too many anglers these days have no clue of other species! I’ve a soft spot for tench too!
yeah me too but we are starved of decent tench waters round here so i don't fish for them very often, you never know things might change, it wasn't long ago that you didn't have many carp but they are spreading and growing on slowly, i can't believe how fishing has changed over the years and it will for you too mate👍
yeah I get about a bit glyn, there's still plenty of fishing to do before i'm back on the towpath again, that period between xmas and new year would be a good time to have a stroll along the canal👍
thanks jay, i have a big list of ideas i want to cover on this channel at some point, i've added your suggestion to the list, i'm actually surprised it's not on there already and it's not like i haven't got bait bands in my tackle box👍
depends on the individual swim brad, if it's deep under your feet then yes, otherwise i'll try and fish close to features like streamer weed or just in the main channel👍
Very good video, Mark. I was wondering as im having trouble with hooklinks, what hooklinke do you like using. Do you like Mono, if so what brand and breakage line do you like using. you can message me if you don't want to comment about it. Cheers.
I use two hooklinks warbob, drennan supplex in 10lb, which is fluorocarbon, it's basically a mono but it's almost invisible in water so it works really well in the low/clear water conditions on this video. The other hooklink I use is kryston merlin in 15lb which is a green coloured sinking braid, on a gravel bottom merlin can stand out like a sore thumb in the daytime so my preference is for the fluorocarbon unless the river has some colour in it. I'd go fluoro but if you just want a good standard mono to use for hooklinks then give maxima clear a try, if I wasn't using fluorocarbon i'd be on that instead 👍
Mark, The Shrewsbury Angler's Club ourselves, hold some impressive two stretches of the River Severn around Shrewsbury. Check us out & thanks for such a cool and informative video!!
thanks sac, nice fb page. for anyone looking for a cheap ticket for the river severn the shrewsbury anglers facebook page is here.. facebook.com/shrewsburyanglersclub/
Thank You Mark!! We only started last year and already have done so much hard work. We are a non-profit Club and are run by a Committee of Volunteers. I shall share this video for you and give your channel a heads up!! Tom.
I was quite lucky stu, I bought a sack just before they changed the shape and as i'm an all rounder and my barbel season is short, I've still got some left👍
i'm tighter than a ducks arse dave, I hate wasting bait, I prefer mixing it in small amounts to avoid waste, that bait box does about 25 balls the size of a golf ball, I usually mix a few during a session so it's nearly always freshly mixed and very little waste, my barbel sessions are only 4-5hrs anyway so i'm never going to use loads of bait👍🎣😁

How far out are you fishing Mark? Do you ever fish the margin features on the Severn? I live just up the road from Ironbridge.
depends on the individual swim brad, if it's deep under your feet then yes, otherwise i'll try and fish close to features like streamer weed or just in the main channel👍
Mark Carp Thanks. Great channel!
@@1985bradrushton thanks brad, the severn where you are is literally barbel alley and it's great fishing, good luck mate👍🎣

Alright mark mate does a 3 rod licence cover you for 2 rods on a river pal .👍
yes gary it does👍
Which stretch of the Severn near Ironbridge were you on here Mark. Cheers Robbi
hi Robbi, sorry I can't say mate, it's a private 'no publicity' stretch😉
Keep in touch when you're out
will do glyn, cheers mate👍
👍
Hi mate where about is this?? And would normal banded halibuts work
hi mate, sorry I can't say where it is, it's a private stretch and yes, banded halibuts work very well👍
nice just uploaded my first fishing video!
just had a quick look, good effort for your first time mate, you should definitely make another 👍
Was thinking about making one today or tomorrow! Thank you for the feedback!

thanks tom, I appreciate that and good luck with the club and the new season 👍
Such a shame you cant buy elipse pellets everywhere.
I was quite lucky stu, I bought a sack just before they changed the shape and as i'm an all rounder and my barbel season is short, I've still got some left👍
That must be the worst description of mixing groundbait.
Why not a decent bucket and get your hands in.

No offence mate, in a perfect world, you are right.
How much of my groundbait, after a session has been wasted on ducks.
😂😂😂
I can honestly say none of mine dave😂😂😂lol

I bet you are a great guy.

yeah I am mate...except when I have to open my mouldy wallet😂😂😂
