Hi Danny. I really enjoy your blogs and they are helping me to get through the current lockdown. Your presentation is really down to earth and watching your clips is like going fishing with a mate. Keep 'em coming !
cheers graham was a fun session glad you enjoyed it matey, agree totally when i see people on bankand they ask what hook links i use for chub and i say 1lb 7oz and i hook a fish while there they are shocked tosee hwo much pressure it takes as long as knots are good. tight lines mate Danny
Danny watched this before but needed some fishing time to pass while I did tons of washing up plus desperate for some river float fishing this year. Great video like all you do thanks Jon
Brilliant video man. I love the idea of the float fishing nice and light for Barbel. Nothing better than a float knocking about then disappearing. Videos are getting better and better buddy. Keep going mate, you put smiles on faces.
cheers frank glad you enjoyed the vid mate, trying my best as i can being a one man band on the bank glad vids are being enjoyed as im loving making them. thank you again for kind words and tight lines mate
They were all superb fish, can't beat catching big fish on the float! A few years ago I had 7 barbel on the float whilst roach fishing on a little chalk stream. Was only using 3.2lb float fish and a matchpro ultralight. I lost 2 when I had a light hooklength on but once it was clear the barbel had moved in I fished straight through and never lost another one.
i would be lying if i didnt say i was relieved to get my acolyte back in its cloth in 3 pieces still lol, but it handled it really well i was shocked how much power the rod did have. tight lines mate
Congratulations Danny, you never forget your first float caught barbel!! There's no end to your talents. Hoping to do the same tomorrow on the Swale 👍🎣
best of luck on your session tomorrow mate, deffo wont be forgetting that fish in a while that is for sure ached my arm off for one and what a battle. glad enjoying the vids mate and tight lines
this was the first session of two really good sessions with a very special river fish in one coming up. tight lines matey glad you are enjoying the blogs, thank you for taking the time to leave a comment appreciate it mate
nice one danny, that's a very decent barbel for the river and on the float too, the chub looked a decent fish too, you'd expect that one to be a 5+ in the winter👍🎣
i believe so, mate was saying do well beat that on the float on the severn,i had no idea obs not fishing for them often, buzzing fight and cant wait to get back for them anf try this method in other areas. buzzin way to end the blog want it a nice chevin and agree got some weight pit on as was a big eld chub. tight lines for your session this weekend
and last but not least on the comments to reply to, mr hollywood, thank you sir for kind words, loved you last vid mate and great to see you keepoing to word in a old video to diversify away from predators a little and do other stuff
Dannys Angling Blog cheers Danny, yes I did say last year but just couldn’t leave the pike alone. The heat this year has been very different to the last and oxygen levels everywhere seem to be knocked a bit. As I mostly fish the canals for them it would be worse so I do not want to risk it. Really great to try for something else to be fair. Always great to catch with a new style and venue 👌
Hi Danny enjoy watching your videos mate. Iv just started fishing for barbel on the river trent in Nottingham, do you have any tips on what hook bait to use when feeder fishing. Thank you.
Great video Danny. Is that stretch on the Lymm card ? I joined Lymm last year (pretty new to fishing , totally new to river fishing) and had a few sessions on the Severn last year, but don't recognise that stretch. I blanked every time, but your video inspires me to have another go.
The Tyne would make a good barbel river, there are reports of a few near Hexham but I dont know if it's true or not. The Tyne is still, as far as I know a game river, best salmon river in England but that's not a cheap form of fishing!
went some like, my mate Robs said expect them to 3lb to 5lb in that area which would be ideal on float, that first one omg like a train!!! just couldnt move it under feet for a bit
Barbel on the float is a special experience. Brilliant stuff.
can conform that mark a battle i wont forget such power!!

cheers richard glad you enjoyed the vid mate, tightlines and thank you for kind words
Well done Danny and well caught, most barbel anglers would not dream of fishing that light but that's the difference between skill and chuck and hook.

I normally match the pellets I'm putting in feeder but only bigger 8mm 10mm or meat. And plenty of hemp seed if I can get a swim that allows it
