I have a 2020 Tundra and put on the Flowmaster outlaw. There is a good amount of drone noise but the sound when I get on it is just awesome!!
Oh I’m bet! Not sure I could live with the drone though😬
Thanx for this info.It helped me a lot Thanx
Love it!
All this talk about exhaust is exhausting me! LOL No seriously, good information!
Lol!! Exhausts can be rather draining!!!!😬
That carven you had on your Rebel was the best sounding by far
It was pretty awesome!! Loved those canon exhaust tips too!!!!!!!
Ay. It sounded pretty good. I’m 14 but looking for stuff for my tundra. 😂😂
Love a good exhaust. Miss that. I decided not to do it on this truck and wish I had
Yup! Just adds to the driving experience. I love the TRD’s sound on my Tundra. Just right IMO👍
Thanks for the info I will get it for my 2019 Tundra
Just ordered the same exhaust for my 21 tundra. Sparks parts had a black Friday sale going on where they discount 150 for shipping. Got o great deal with the black tips. Cant wait for it to come in.
It’s perfect for the Tundra IMO👍👍
Bought and installed it myself in 2018. ( Flowmaster #817664 ) $860 was my limit. On Oahu's north shore, I'm only in the saddle for an hour or less. Drone noise is noticeable going steady uphill, but who cares?!! I've had dual exhaust V8s since 1964 👍My truck is a 2015 Tundra Crewmax SR5. Great video 👍👍
That’s great! Nothing beats a dual exhaust on any truck👍
Ty!
+ gotta love the low rumble
I just purchased a 2021 and immediately installed this. I love the sound on startup and low speeds but I lost a noticeable amount of low end torque and the sound at highway speeds is a bit much. Might be doing an H-pipe mod.
Congrats on the new truck. I still think that exhaust is best for the Tundra👍👍
great trucks i have a crewmax no problems at all
Those are great too👍
I’ve heard the TRD exhaust and my Borla side by side and I have to tell you I really can’t tell to much difference
I’ve heard that. I think Borla actually makes the TRD exhaust. I bet the TRD version is just rebranded🤔
what Borla muffler do you have?
I have a TRD exhaust.
I have true duel flow master 40s window up an shit i love it , everyone looks an every tundra ask what i got
Awesome 👍
Love your videos! Where's the best place to order a TRD PRO exhaust like you have? I'm thinking about purchasing a 2014 Tundra with the 4.6 ltr. I have been in love since the first time I heard those notes! Thanks!
Thanks Jeff! I order my stuff from sparksparts.com and you can use discount code RobMotive for 5% off👍
I deleted the second cats and did true dual super 10's. Tundra sounds like a monster.
I bet! Awesome 👍
Do you get drone?
The carven sounds really good. I have the trd on my tundra. Sounds even better pulling a trailer.
The Carven was really cool on my Rebel. I do like the TRD on the Tundra though👍
@@RobMotive I also have the trd cai and I think they compliment each other.
Do you mean the CAI?
@@RobMotive yes sorry my bad 🤣😁
I am sitting here now waiting on them to put the original exhaust back in. Bummer!!!
Now that's a bummer!! 😑
Mine might be just closer at that. The transmission is smother. But it might be fun. How many miles does you truck have?
Not the point of this video, but this helped me solidify getting a carven exhaust for my rebel after all. Thank you!
You’ll love it! It was awesome on mine👍
Another awesome video Rob, so where can I buy the TRD dual exhaust for my TSS tundra?thanks for the tips.
Thanks. Sparksparts and use discount code RobMotive for 5% off your order👍
@@RobMotive Rob, one more question, is this something you can do it yourself or a muffler shop?thanks
Here you go: ruclips.net/video/HDBZm_XWrW0/видео.html
My 8 inch BAM muffler by Dirty Deeds is much deeper than the TRD exhaust. A nice low rumble like a 70's big block. The TRD is a little higher pitched. And if you go WOT it sounds totally bad ass. Both exhausts maintain back pressure which Tundras need for low end. And I drive a nice truck, so I want people to hear it, it can prevent accidents as they know your beside them or nearby. If I didn't want sound the stock pipe was designed by engineers to max out engine mpg, and power band. Their research budget far exceeds any muffler manufacturer. And the TRD was designed to keep these attributes and the bam muffler was designed to do the same thing, just louder, lol. At 70 it's quiter than the stock exhaust, without the resonater. 50-65 some drone, but 0-50 it's a deep rumble, not too loud to make calls, but enough to be heard. TRD pitch is a higher than the bam. Both good exhausts for the tundra. I have a borla going on my 2010 so we will see what that sounds like soon. My 2016 is staying with the Dirty Deeds Exhaust.
Sounds (no pun intended) great to me! I’m pretty happy with the TRD exhaust. Just the right grumble but not over bearing👍
@@RobMotive I'm more the wake up the neighbors guy, or warn my wife I'm almost home, lol. Both exhausts keep the back pressure so you don't lose any low end torque which is important if your into maximizing performance. Nice truck.
Lol! I bet they love you for it too!! 😬
@@RobMotive luckily 2 out of my neighbors around me have Tundras, so those 2 are OK, lol.
Ohh btw I don’t know if you will keep your. But mine was my father’s. I had to replace the frame
Hey Rob did you have to paint the TRD exhaust tips yourself or is that an option you can choose?
You can choose the black tips.
Did you have the TRD CAI also installed?
I did both👍
Any tourqe loss or weird shifting after putting trd exhaust on?
Nope. Just a great exhaust note👍
Don't know if you see these posts on old videos - I just picked up a 2016 - it's got dual exhaust and a tiny (really tiny) single "muffler" 2 in - 2 out The droning is obnoxious - I'm about to put a stock single on this thing. I understand the sound thing - I love the sound of a V8 - just not for 8-10 hours a day. As near as I can tell - they've tuned this thing to match the exact resonant frequency of the cab. So - I'm looking for QUIET single exhaust that outperforms the factory single - any thoughts?
Why single - I need to squeeze a 35" spare under there - which is doable but dual exhaust gets way too close for my comfort.
Also - I need to trim weight anyplace I can - this is a full time overland rig build it's going to have an Alucabin shell on it and a lot of gear so every pound I can shave will help.
Not sure what you mean by out-perform? I’d just go back to stock👍
Rob how did you like your Rebel? Do you like the Tundra better?
I liked the Rebel a lot...my second favorite truck. The Tundra is #1👍
In my truck I like just a little sound but in the TransAM I want loud.
Lol!! I get that!!!!!!!👍👍
Get duel flow master 40s i just got them an dam ! I do blow shit off , everyone looks ive got 2014 tundra 5.7
TRD exaust run, was that half throttle or FULL throttle on the takeoff? Sounded like a heavy foot but not all the way down.
Probably not pegged to the flow...but close👍
I do a lot of creeping into hunting areas and the used 2007 Tundra TRD 5.7L I have now is too grumbly / loud with the single exhaust it came with. Any suggestions to lower the startup, cruisin' and highway road grumble it has now? (no i have no clue what brand/model is on it currently)
Only stock. However that may be what’s on it now🤔
Hi Rob i just bought mine ‘21 limited crewmax, i just order the rough country dual cat back, do you think it suit the tundra or not?? please let me know thank you
I couldn’t say. I’ve never had one. I’ve had the TRD exhaust and thought it sounded pretty good👍
Hey sup rob I'm thinking bout the mbrp exhaust fir my taco is that the best sounding 1 you think ?
I’d say it’s the best I’ve had at startup and if you wan some sound while driving. Keep in mine that you will hear it in the cab at cruising speed all the time.
@@RobMotive thanks for the info I dint mind the sound all the time I come from a sports car background I love it I could open up the windows and turn the radio down as long as it sounds great not like a fart can though 😂😂😂
Lol!! Some of those little car exhausts are laughable!! How do they think it sounds good🤔
Hey Rob, I have a question on dual exhaust system on 19 Tundra Platinum. Ordered the Magnaflow Dual exhaust, with pipes out each side. The installer just informed me that he couldn’t install because the spare tire is in the way. Have you or any one that follows you ever had this problem?
I have not, but I installed the TRD dual exhaust.
@@RobMotive Well they are waiting to contact the manufacturer (Magnaflow) our in California to see what my options are. One thing for certain and two things for sure...removing the spare to accommodate exhaust is a non starter. I will keep you and followers informed of what I find out. May have to entertain the TRD or Boorla option....Thanks for your timely response..
Well. It’s a no go on the Magnaflow, manufacturer says the only system that they have to fit will be the two exhaust pipes coming out on passenger side of truck. Not the look I am looking for, so decided to go with the Boorla exhaust system. Little extra cost , but still sounds good.
That’s a drag! Too bad they couldn’t make it work😬
Hi I would like to talk about this issue with you. I have a tundra with a step side 2 muffler straight pipe. Cold start wakes the neighbors
I bet it does!!😬
Do you know if this would fit on a 2012 5.7 tundra? All I can find is the TRD dual for the newer model.
I do not. Get ahold of Sparks Parts and ask them👍
No problem....................just put the system on my 2011 dbl cab.
" it purrssss "
Do you get better few miles with Dauls
Not in my experience.
They all sound great Rob great videos sir. I went with the Flowmaster outlaw setup on a 2019 tundra limited crewmax im just waiting on shipping and we will see how it comes out 😃
Let me know what you think of it👍
Hey did you get it installed? I was looking at getting the outlaw for my tundra
I want the truck to be as quiet as possible. What is the best muffler for me
Stock.
I like the trd but I kinda want one a little louder. But not super loud cos I’m gonna be in high school. But one that sound sort of aggressive.
The TRD exhaust is a great fit for the Tundra. You do get a louder exhaust, but definitely not obnoxious 👍
RobMotive 👍
RobMotive someone else said the outlaw was pretty good too
It you want loud...Absolutely 👍
RobMotive ok👍
I need trd exhaust on my sequoia
It would sound great!!👍
Where did you purchase this system?
Sparksparts.com. Discount code ROBMOTIVE for 5% off👍
Hi do you know how many resonator have in a 204 tundra 1794?
Thanks
Nope...I do not🤔
RobMotive thanks
So you put dodge ram rebel exhaust on a tundra?
Huh?
Is that with stock intake ?
Don’t recall if I had the CAI installed yet or not🤔
Corsa all day but trd was my second choice exhaust
I put the trd cat back on my 06 tundra 4.7 and I didn't hear much difference
I like the way it looks but is not loud ad I want it so I removed the resonator one resonator 2 and I am still not happy so now I will remove the muffler and put a Y to see how it songs
I though the trd cat back would give me way more
Anyway I hope not to screw the sound ...
You must really want it it loud! I love it myself👍
@@RobMotive
Yes but yours is louder than mine
I dont know why
Maybe cause my engine is 4.7 I dont know but yours is like twice loud than mine.
Mine is the 4.7 as well. That’s odd🤔
@@RobMotive
Is the first gen tundra ????
Mine is a 2019👍
40 is the loudest transmission/gurr
Hi my friend where I can get one TRD exhaust For my Toyota tundra 2021 1794 Edition
Check out sparksparts.com. You can also use discount code RobMotive for 5% off👍
@@RobMotive Thank you so much for the info
Glad to help 👍
Smart man. You have good taste.
Thank ya. Thank ya very much😁
HANDS DOWN THE TRD EXHAUST 🙂
I got a newTunndra 2020 single stock exhaust is there a advantage of getting the dual TRD exhaust other than the sound. I read somewhere you exactly lose power if it’s not done right.
Just aesthetics as far as I’m concerned🤔
Where could I order a TRD exhaust?
Got mine at Sparks Parts👍
@@RobMotive thank you
Trd exhaust has a growl but not to much ,just the right tone on both Tundra and Tacoma imo
I could go for a tad more grumble on the Taco, but the TRD on the Tundra is just right IMO👍
can i get the mbrp exhaust link ?
I don't have a link. Should be able to find it by Googling MBRP👍
thank you! do you know the model by chance?
I don’t. However, if you search for my install video you might find the info there. It’s been awhile since I had that exhaust 🤔
thank you for your help!!
Your welcome👍
Flow master super 10s best exhaust sounds way better than trd exhaust
sounds like my borla just with a overpriced TRD tip on it... i hate mine. I will be putting on a Super 10 Flowmaster asap. My son has a 2004 tahoe with a 1 in flow 40 single out and it sounds 100x better than my 1k borla kit.
I believe the TRD exhaust is made by Borla🤔
Stock is the best exhaust....haha ik I'm boring but I'm right ;)
Lol! It’s the quietest 😁
I wish someone would make exhaust for tundra quieter than factory. I love quite exhaust system.
Hmmm...Not sure I’ve heard that before🤔
More quiet than stock?! Shoot, get a 4 banger. Apparently you cannot handle a V8!
@@jeffreysantos9070 , I cannot handle watching young people with damaged hearing and wearing hearing aids. I don't want to waste my lifesaving on insurance and hearing aids. Also, I don't want neighbors to know when come and go.
@@RobMotive 😂
@@repairvehicle maybe you by a bicycle then
Prefer a carven set up,what I have in my truck
Man it’s close for me TBH. That Carven sounded pretty good on my Rebel🤔
@@RobMotive I hear your exhaust and muffler setup and then I compare mine to it and mine has more chop,no whine, and sounds like a muscle car not knocking yours sounds good but mine is all custom built by a performance exhaust shop in okc known for making wicked exhaust set ups.
Sounds like you have a good setup 👍
@@RobMotive yes it's not too bad you can hear it better on my Instagram TheWickedBeastTundra405
Sounds great! 👍
Whats best for tacoma? Anyone have borla for tacoma? Hows it sound?
Good question 🤔. The MBRP was great at startup and acceleration, but needed more grumble (if that’s even possible with the six speed).
@@RobMotive mine came with the stock trd exhaust but u really have to get on it to hear it sound good
I agree. Not a lot of sound with the TRD exhaust on the Tacoma 😬
@@RobMotive is the mbrp better?
Definitely more sound.
Flowmaster outlaw way better than that trd crap....
Depends on what you’re going for...🤔
On the Tacoma I’d agree. Definitely not on the Tundra though😁
I put the trd cat back on my 2006 tundra and I like the look but not the sound now making a bunch of chanches to keep the trd dual exhaust pipes but increase the sound.
Hopefully you’ll get it where you want it to be👍
Are you sure you aren't just a little biased because its trd exhaust. Come on now there are plenty of aftermarket exhaust that have low drone noise. Flowmaster super 40 and super 44 for example. Both have that deep bass growl with low cabin noise.
I only state it the way I see it. The TRD dual exhaust is perfect for the Tundra IMO👍
The TRD Tundra exhaust sucks and was a huge disappointment. I think most people convince themselves it sounds good because they spent so much money on it. I’ve got a 2021 TRD Pro and it sounded like a helicopter at highway speeds when I drove it home 3hrs from the dealer because it lacks a crossover pipe like 99% of most dual exhaust systems. The unequal pressures from each bank produces a very annoying drone, but instead of the drone being constant, it has an even more annoying cadence. It’s similar to the cadence of the thumping noise produced when a rear window is down at intermediate speeds. The Dirty Deeds TRD replacement system I bought immediately after purchasing the truck fixed it up nice, used the existing tail pipes for a factory look, and with the additional Helmholtz resonators, it completely eliminates drone.
Boring,
I have the Dual In Dual Out Magnaflow X pipe, which is twice as loud but not too much, sometimes I wish it was lauder 😂
Lol! I bet it is! Gotta set it up the way you like it for sure👍
Trd exhaust is lame.
Alrighty then...🥴
Need real true dual flow master. This crap is a joke
Depends on what you’re looking for. This exhaust satisfies what I wanted👍
Better to remain silent and let people suspect you are a loser than to ride around with a loud exhaust and remove all doubt.
