@bradk8598 thete was multiple part numbers to the kit. I dont remember the numbers but if you call any toyota parts they will give you those part numbers.
Rob I want to thank you so very very much!!!!!! That bungee cord trick made the difference, I installed a dual exhaust system on my tundra in about an hour. Thank you!!!
Took myself and the help of my brother inlaw less than an hour to install. I just needed the extra set of hands to lift the muffler section. Probably would've taken longer if I hadn't watched your video, so thank you for sharing this.
A patient and methodical install. Looks good, sounds good. Completely agree no paint until totally necessary and that driver side tail section without pre-fab is a muffler installers nightmare. How much cussing off camera ?
Sounds great! I just ordered a 2021 limited double cab with the TRD duel exhaust. I probably should of ordered it with the cold air too. Last of the 5.7L... RIP. Great video.
Look, I was all for getting this thing, and installing it myself, right up until you used the word, “cumbersome”. Dang it, Rob! You know I can’t do cumbersome. I can do tricky, or awkward, heavy, even unmanageable... but darn it! Seriously, another great detailed install video, Buddy. I plan on getting this set up soon. May even spray the whole thing black w/ heat resilient paint.
Great video. Man that Tundra V8 sounds so good. In a few years I will buy a Tundra to tow our hybrid. My Taco can do it but I want more power and a bigger truck.
I'm pissed i didn't install the TRD exhaust right after i got my truck. After only 2 winters the front 4 bolts near the cats are really rusty,i'm fairly certain they will break if i try to remove them :(. DAMN salt. Also TRD exhaust pipes will rust hard here in the northeast after a winter or 2 .Lucky you have no worries about that in Texas
Hey there!! Thanks for the video. Getting ready to get at this. I have the kits. I see you spoke about gaskets. Do you recall if 2 or 4 gaskets came with your kit. The 2 that you show that goes on muffler to tail pipe kit side, bit what about the other end where the muffler attaches to the catalytic converters.
Did yours smoke on the first drive. Mine about 10 minutes into the drive it start pumping out white smoke.they put a preservative oil inside the exhaust system in about 10 minutes later it started smoking after 20 minutes it was fine.
Sounds great! Looks like an easy instal especially using the bungee cords. My Tundra is the same color and double cab as yours. Did you buy the color matched grill frame. Mines is chrome and the chrome has to go! LOL
Did you lose low end power with the duals? I heard that was a problem with installing them. I want them, but heard it's kind of a negative as far as the low end.
TRD Exhaust, I'm gonna need to be convinced one I hear the sound. lol Will let you know! I'm still curious makes the the TRD Exhaust. Haven't ran into anyone that knows yet.
@@RobMotive Those exhust tips look a lot like mine, it could be a Borla. Try to do a highway cruising video. Curious to see how well the resonator silences any noise inside the cab at highway speed. I tried but couldn't capture sound well enough with my phone.
Well I can add my own insignificant Mod on my Tacoma...had OEM rear springs replaced with apparently heavy duty leaf kit on rear of my truck. My truck sits higher...has no more squeaking sound when truck goes up and down...assume the bushings and/or the one broken leaf was the culprit. Best part of this repair is my truck rides way nicer than before. So moral of the story is Toyota OEM leaf springs are not really that good. One more thing...anyone with the 4.0 liter V6 like my Taco has...changing spark plugs to NGK IRIDIUM makes quite a difference in fuel economy and engine starts better and idles much smoother. So those are my 2 insignificant mods to my truck...and now I am poor after spending all the money on maintenance.
@@RobMotive My fuel economy is better by maybe 20%...but some of that may be due to switching my Duratracs out for Goodyear Adventure tires...use those when weather is nicer up here in Ontario and less cold to. Interestingly my dealer told me my truck would NOT run well with Iridium's...I call bullshit on that...I have driven 4000 kms now since the switch and those plugs are just better. They will last 200 000 kms or about 120 000 miles...I think the benefit of Iridium's justifys the cost. Simply a better plug that lasts way longer.
I'm always curious.. how right away you get a thumbs down but with no corresponding comment of why. If I was going to give a thumbs down, I would tell you why... just curious. Nice lift! Makes for great videos of the undercarriage.

Hello Rob, did you do any adjusting this time with the notorious right side tip being uneven (hanging lower than the left), or was it pretty even out the box? I've just installed TRD exhaust on my magnetic grey double cab 2018 Tundra and love the sound and look but the right tip hangs about 1/2 to 1 inch lower than the left-side tip. I might not even try to correct it, almost seems its suppose to be that way given the fact that just about everyone who puts the TRD exhaust after having single exhaust runs into this situation. what did you do?
i just had mine install at the shop the passenger tip is a little off and pointing downward more than the drivers tip. but you really cant help it because sometimes the welding is as it is from the shop...this had nothing to do with the hangers...
@@kenchirokenchiro7688 i agree probably the pipe is made with more or less curvature than needed or something because my truck is fairly new (2018) and i doubt the hangers are worn. I don't think I'm going to mess with it, just let it be. Although you can really see the difference in height (levelness) of both pipes when you squat down behind the truck and look at both HA!
Want to give you heads up. You can see daylight through that mount/gasket @ 23:50. Might want to check your torque specs on that Rob. Definitely going to have an exhaust leak there.
I saw that during the install. It’s only at the top and bottom where the edges actually meet, then there is a slight gap. Believe me...it can go no tighter and I hear no leaks👍
