Ordered online for my parents, quite an easy seamless process. Went for the mini and paid $223 which was $200 for the hardware and $23 for shipping. The $30 subscription will be charged after the equipment is received and connected. I guess this is a much needed wakeup call for local internet service providers and unfortunately some will probably go under.

@@Alick.outdoors Kunzwisisa kwandakaita, everything is factored in the cost and shipping saka you don't pay duty or anything extra. Unfortunately i am not in Zim saka ndakamirawo kunzwa how the experience will be with the Shipping and setup when they receive the equipment.

The creator economy is going to go up and when it comes to unemployment I disagree. I think more people are going to be self employed since there will be an opportunity for internet based businesses to rise e.g e-commerce, content and uber. Maybe even Amazon will start working in Zimbabwe

Can you pliz guide me l want to make my first purchase for starlink kit but am kind like confused on which one to go for, standard or mini . Can you pliz help me out on the difference between the 2 kits , when it comes to devices that l can connect, whether l can connect them to third party routers, can l mount mini kit on rooftop and use it indoors, how are they obstructed by walls if l have different rooms and how are they affected by weather. Thank you in advance for your response.

Which one to go for depends on yuor needs. Starlink mini has lower speed of 100mbps while standard has 250.
The mini is deprioritised so when your area gets busy with many people using starlink your speed will be the first to go down but still the speed will be much better than what most service providers offer.
Both can take up to 128 devices but obviously speed slows down with that many connected. For fast speeds max devices should be 30.
You have to check compatibility for third party routers.
Mini must not be outdoors as it can be affected by heat and other elements. Always keep Int indoors.
