StarLink now has the USB-C wire for sale. It’s 5m (16’.5”) long and costs $31.00 USD. It has a red power indicator light in it to show if the required 100W 5A 20V power supply is good. For the Mini Only.
hi can you please explain how is the upload i need like I want to use it for live broadcasting in completely closed places where it is difficult to obtain a signal
Setting up for caravan, do you think i could get the 5m DC MINI to USB-C chord and run it off a 12v usb-c cigarette plug? And when at the house i can use a USB-C wall plug and plug the MINI DC TO USB-C cable straight into that?
Thanks for the video. I just picked mine up and need to run it off my 12v RV (I am tech illiterate) I have 12v cigarette lighter and 12 v usb points. I went to Jaycar and was told I could only run it off the 240 supplied. Can you advice where I can order the adapters asap please . Thank you
Hi mate no problem at all. There are two options. You can either buy a USBC to 5521 adapter which will plug into the cigarette lighter USB port. Alternatively you can order direct off eBay or Amazon a cigarette lighter to 5521 which will do the trick too. I’ll send a link shortly.
Thanks for the prompt info , I look forward to the link. I’m in Mackay do you think if I go back into Jaycar they would have these? Or an auto electrician? I head remote tomorrow for a week. Ps..I set it up on my dashboard last night (powered site) and it worked great 🎉
@@ShutterZone I bought a cigarette plug to barrel from Altronics. Works well. M8617 $6.95 The issue is with long cables as voltage will drop over long lengths.
Thank you for your reply which leads me onto another question. How far from the mini does the internet signal spread will I get a signal inside my motorhome if the mini is outside away from the vehicle for a clear sky view?

Hello, the upload speed was 20 but it was from my partner window. I’ll text tomorrow in the open. 😊
@@ShutterZone thanks
Uploads more variable. With clear line of sight, 10mbits or so fairly reliably.

As long as the USB is 100W rated for a single port. 20V 5A I believe.

Well done. It’s a great bit of kit. How’s it working?

Thankyou for this informative video. From what you showed there is no router like the full size Starlike use on 240v is this correct?
This is correct. The router is built into the unit. It works on 12V or 220V.
