You are the first video on youtube that actually knew what they were talking about re: USB C power needed. I used my Starlink for the first time camping this weekend and could not get it to work plugged into my Bluetti AC200P because it only outputs USB C at 60W. The blue light on the back of the SL will come on, will power on the SL router, allow me to connect to the router but then when the SL tries to establish connection with satellites it will quickly 'blink off' and drop wifi and rinse and repeat. Super frustrating. Had to plug into AC and on AC it was pulling up to 95-100 watts at some times. Most every other youtuber are morons and telling people they just need a 60w usb C port and a USB C pd cable - wrong - need 100 w usb C output.
You have other issues. Its max power draw is 60 watts on the mini. Starlink Mini official specifications: WiFi 5 (sorry!) 3 x 3 MU-MIMO. 1 Ethernet port with a rubber plug. Power input: 12-48 V, up to 60W, Barrel Jack. USB-C to Barrel Jack Cable (sells separately). 1.10 kg (2.43 lb) without stand. The kickstand and pipe adapter are included. It runs on smaller power banks no problem. Just make sure you get a cable with ribs to maintain its ip67 rating. All these other adapters and mounts are useless to me for an emergency kit and I’ve found even with some shading cover and obstructions it works fine.
Agree, per Starlink need 20V 5A 100 watts PD. 60 won't work. I've seen some folks get away with 65 but that's only short term. Very nice case setup btw. I have all those adapters.
Amazing how we repurposed our stuff that’s been setting around And then this case is a terrific example of why we keep our stuff. Till we find why we keep it. 😊
Hey Brian, hope you’re doing ok. Missing seeing your videos but imagine you’re dealing with some home stuff. Look forward to when you get back out and about on the RUclipss.
Hey Brian, enjoyed your video as always. But I was looking for your old truck video where you ran the 5000 btu a/c off the Redodo battery. Did you take that video down?
Ok thanks. I'll keep looking. I'll be doing a home test soon. I built a false tailgate like the one you did and gonna see how it works soon. Really enjoy all your vids. Keep up the good work brother.
Hi! Are you using size B (1”) or C (1.5”) RAM Mounts? As the Starlink Mini weighs 2.43 pounds, I’m concerned size B won’t hold up due to the weight capacity being 2 lbs for standard use and 1 lb for heavy-duty use. I want to use the pipe adapter and tripod mount adapter as well, so it will weigh even more. Thoughts? Any advice is much appreciated!
If I may ask an over $600 for star-link plus either $150 or $50 how much does it really cost to compare to using your phone service? Does this have benefit over star-link
Amazon wartleves for Starlink Mini USB C to DC Power Cable, 100W USB Type-C Input to Waterproof Barrel Jack Charging Cord, Work with 65W PD Source (49FT)
Why don’t you use your pelican case as your base for ram mount. I can think of at least two different ways to do it. Your smart enough to figure it out

Awesome. I bought a Harbor Freight 3800 Apache case for my Mini and mounts/cords.
👍🏻👍🏻
I did the same.

Thanks Clarence👍🏻
Same thing I have only purchased the same size case at Harbor freight. The case was $40 with pick foam. Done!
👍🏻👍🏻
Very good, thank you for the seminar.
👍🏻👍🏻
Yep, Pelican cases are bombproof ! I have that exact case, had it for years for photo gear. You have a nice setup there.
Thanks👍🏻👍🏻
Very good idea for my starlink mini installation on RV.
👍🏻👍🏻
Brilliant! Thanks Brian. Enjoy your upcoming time off.

@@BrianWatersOutdoors drive safe bro. Cant wait for the new vid
For your voltage drop problem, you could use a Victron dc-dc converter to stabilize the output voltage.
👍🏻👍🏻
if you havent already found it... you can use the Anker 100+watt Power Banks
👍🏻👍🏻

Thanks! Just posted the latest camping video 👍🏻
Great video.
Can I ask who you contacted on Etsy to create the orange puck?
I ordered from etsy://shop/36005458
Great video, do you have the Etsy link to the orange plug with the tripod mount . Thanks

No, it’s somewhere in the mix of all my videos. I’ve never removed any videos👍🏻

hi. I'm using the size B, and so far don't have any issues with it holding up
@@BrianWatersOutdoors, thank you!
Add a 5521 f email to 5525 adapter if your battery bank has a 24v barrel connector rock and role
👍🏻

The dish should work inside of the case.
12vdc should work with a short cable, is a problem
👍🏻
Elon what have you done
👍🏻
Hm, why do people take the mini ? Because it is smal so easy to take with you. Not to put it in a oversized suitcase.
With this case it still takes up less room than the gen 2 or gen 3. But get whichever you like. Doesn’t matter👍🏻
Nice! Harbor Freight has a lot of decent affordable hard cases although you seem like someone who has never set foot in a Harbor Freight 😂
😂 hey now! Bought my first welding machine from there👊🏻👊🏻
