    Thank you Kevin. What a coincidence. I just purchased my Starlink gen 3. I’m considering Flagpole Buddy’s gen 3 set up (about $230). But your DIY video is making me reconsider. I never thought about leaving the pole on the ladder rack while traveling, which solves issue of storing the long pole.

    Bravo Kevin. This was a thinking man’s solution, very nicely executed. No “close enough” or “good enough” on this job. I admire work done at a high level in a workmanlike manner. No excuses offered because there were none needed. Lots of good ideas here. Congratulations. Well done.

    Wow, Wow, Wow. ... Just wonderful Kevin!! I had just bought the same Harbor Freight pole and was curious how others have used it with Gen 3 SL on motorhomes. You nailed it for me and saved me so much time. You have an engineers mind man! Thank you SO much!

    Every thing in this video is spot on. As I was doing mine in the convenience of my home garage, I used a dremel tool ("did we tell you it cuts?") to clean up the reaming of the plastic bushing at the top. Also, if you're thinking of using more than the top three poles, you will need longer PTO pins. Thanks Kevin!

    I'm an aussie and I'm always amazed at the gear available if the US for doing stuff around an RV. I've just had the Gen 3 delivered and I bought one of the small pole mounts with less than great success. I have a couple of questions - firstly how do you rotate the dish to align in with the satellite when setting up at a new site and related to that, when I tried mounting the dish on a flagpole type arrangement SL advised that the angle of the dish was incorrect and it couldn't connect the SL dish. Did you have similar problems and if so how did you deal with these?

    • @ktoutdoor
      @ktoutdoor  25 дней назад

      I just loosen the wing nut at the bottom and rotate , no angle problems at all . i used the app on my phone.

    This is awesome, thanks. I wonder how many people use the pole with the vehicle/tire weight held stand and then forget to break it down and drive off!! Hahaha. I'm old so I'm sure that would happen eventually. Read that Gen4 is the US-only one now. These things are worse than buying a mobile phone. By the time FedEx shows up, your model is the old one.

      @cwfain no problem at all. Just loosen the locking screw and the base of the holder. Rotate the pole and watch your phone app. To lock it in place.

    Kevin, I am impressed with the speed, I don't get close to that 3 foot from my modem. I have that same type flag pole in my yard and I have to spray a lubricant at the locking sleeves or very hard to slide and twist to unlock. What kind of speed were you getting when just on the table. Great job..

    We have our antenna on the base it came with on the ground. I dont think that there is any advantage of having the antenna any higher than the roof of the RV.

      @@ktoutdoor Nice to see a $125 plan, I dont think we had that choice when we got ours. It sure was nice to have pretty much guaranteed internet last winter, especially in places where other years we had good Verizon signal, but no bandwidth. I have seen some youtube videos of people permanently mounting their Generation 3 antennas directly to the roof of their RVs.
