You cannot believe how happy I am to see someone else than me explore Deepnest right after they found the City. Usually most people react with "Uh, bugs? No thank you", turn back and let their chat tell them where to go... And then you turned around right in front of a bench two times to go back to the last bench, just to find out you can't actually go back lmao (Which I actually didn't know, despite over 800 hours in this game lol) The moment you sit on that bench down at the hot spring you actually have no way of getting out without exploring Deepnest. And while the main struggle in deepnest certainly is navigation, I am a huge advocate of exploring more difficult areas without too many upgrades (I personally like to struggle, because I learn more with it) This is also what I meant two episodes away when I was talking about us viewers being in for a treat XD Deepnest is a struggle, and it's creepy, but have fun :D Also good job with Mantis Lords! One could really see you focus on that last attempt
Your 800 hours in this game explains your sheer game knowledge... I had a feeling that the only way out was to keep progressing forward, and now you've confirmed that for me... which kinda makes me more depressed xD I hope I can get past that pogo-sticking marathon at the end in the next video quickly; I don't want all of episode 7 to be me retrying that over and over again And yes, I am indeed having fun
Considering how much you're struggling finding nearest benches, you might wanna buy the bench pin from Iselda in Dirtmouth. You'll see all benches you discovered before (And I think occasionally even some that Cornifer discovered before you) Although I will say making a mental image of the map is also a good thing.
I really should. The only reason I haven't done that yet is because going to a new area is just too tempting compared to taking the Stag Beetle back to Dirtmouth for that
The answer to why Baldur Shell stopped doing its thing is in its description: "The shell is not indestructible and will shatter if it absorbs too much damage. It blocks up to four attacks. Also you might not take damage, but the heal still gets interrupted. So you still need to find the proper time windows to heal either way. But Baldur Shell enables you to see some funny bugs. Look at 28:36 you heal and at the very end you get hit. The heal finished and you got hit afterwards, causing you to loose the hp again, but since Baldur Shell was actually still up, you didn't actually take damage. So you had 3 hp, but only 2 showing lol. At 28:45 you can see that you get hit but don't lose HP, that is because you actually had 3.
I realized it didn't work indefinitely after a while, but thanks for the exact details. I wasn't even aware of those bugs, I guess I was too absorbed in the fight :p
the beginning was pretty scuffed tho xD I watched a TAS recently (tho only until where ive explored) and that movement makes mine look like im a 3 year old spamming buttons
33:46 that moment when you heal in a perfectly safe spot but then run into the attack afterwards anyway... so relatable
I didn't even have to move there too T-T

And that actually happened a couple times
