I felt so bad but, then she mentioned someone named Nola (I think) who I assumed was a sibling or close friend of hers that had probably been dead for quite some time so, I thought “I guess in a way this was a happy ending for her”. Still cried though.
The game makes you think "If i wont kill him he will hate me and he will be unhappy, and he will have nothing to do with his life" I think most of the players killed him, and they never knew that he coud've found new reason to live.

Well on people’s behalf who’ve killed him, life in Hallownest is awful, everyone is a zombie and it’s all about if you can kill or not, and the player knows the infection is rapidly getting worse, and you could only assume he would be infected and driven mad like the rest if you left him alive.

Nah. An important life lesson irl is that not everything that you want is what's better for you. Not everyone gets to learn that but, the moment you let him live, he gets a new opportunity in life. Killing him here for this reason is like being able to stop someone from comitting suicide but, just because they want to, you let them do it anyway: You'll be arrested and people will despise you for it

But I've seen everything in this game and now I'm just going for the platinum in other console, so I wasn't concerned at all I was concerned at the fact that this mf "exploring", found Sheo's place, literally getting out of City of Tears and somehow surviving all the way to the most spiky area of the game and being able to go through it
I had just came out of platting nioh 1 and 2 so the japanese high stakes honor system was still pretty fresh in my mind. I could see the lucidity in the nailsmith as he made his final request. Knowing how he served me in my journey i felt obligated to serve him in his, so with solemn stoicism I charged the most powerful single strike I could muster lest he survive and feel failure in his work.... Then with tears falling behind my mask, i granted him his final wish.
We he asked me to kill him, I just stood there and think: well, this is what he wants. After all, it would be some kind of mercy. Five seconds late I was with a old Kratos voice like: "As you wish", and bam, dead. Boi am stopid
and that is a wise lesson, you never know what will happen after killing someone even if he wanted it, you just can't predict a future. You can only make assumptions.
Once you made your way there and opened up the path above, you don't have to redo the entire thing again. All you need to do is to jump to the path above with monarch wings

I hit him at first to see what would happen, I closed before saving and loaded the game again... the nail smith was still dead... I wanna be hit by a nail now too
I did the same with myla. I panicked when she started attacking me and I killed her :( I closed the game without saving but when I got back there she was still dead. I'm a monster :(

I killed him without knowing you could not kill him, but I'm ok with this ending. I find it more tragic and more in like with the general tone of the game.
On my first and current playthrough I struck him down for the achievement. If ever I do a second playthrough I want to save the good choices for the second go around, like sparing the Nailsmith, and leaving Zote to die.
I knew about this and before I talked to the nailsmith I told myself "alright. not gonna kill him. just talk and leave." but instead of pressing up i pressed Y. I was nervous to do something wrong. I was so nervous I forgot Y is not what you press to talk. Cried for hours.

Has Sheo seen one, and told the Nailsmith about them? Has Sheo....met Ogrim???????????????? And they're on good enough terms for him to be like "you know who I wanna make a figure of?"??????

true 😔i also accidentally killed him, as i swung my weapon on accident the shock i felt sent me into a coma, where I was out for abour 3 weeks. When i left the hospital all i felt was dread. i was so sad i didnt leave my room for days, i ignored all my responsibilities. I even tried to kill myself from the guilt that i had.

Why would the Nailsmith know of kingsmoulds if they've been only in the white palace.............? Is the collector maybe the kingsmould he saw, and it hasn't actually been that long since it lost its armour, perhaps? Are there paintings or descriptions of kingsmoulds in the city? Has Sheo seen one, and told the Nailsmith about them? Has Sheo....met Ogrim???????????????? And they're on good enough terms for him to be like "you know who I wanna make a figure of?"??????
