Since we're speaking of food products, always remember that you CAN use Crisco as a bullet lube for your muzzleloaders, but you can't shoot long distances with it because it's shortening.
Doubt Paul will see this and he doesn't seem like the kind of guy who likes to have a big deal made out of things like this but remembering his health in our prayers today. We are thankful for you, Paul.

I did a 3-week training evolution with the 2nd SFBTN, 19th SFG in Camp Dawson, WVa back in 88 and we missed a food-drop because the chopper pilot didn’t feel our security was tight enough. We had been in the sticks for 10 days, with 11 to go, and we hadn’t eaten in over 24 hours. Us Jarheads were bitching-infantry units are professional bitchers-but as we were complaining and gathering wild low bush blueberries, which were everywhere, one of the Green Berets slipped off into the deeper woods. About 30 minutes later…BANG. He came back into camp dragging a fat doe which we promptly skinned and field -dressed, and put her on a huge spit. Roasted venison and wild blueberries never tasted so good! I don’t think we even had any seasoning but, when you’re really hungry, you don’t even think about it. I’ve had a lot of respect for those SF guys ever since! Good memories. 👍🏼🫡. Happy Thanksgiving everyone. 🍻🦃 BTW Paul, I was an 0331 (M60 Gunner) and that MILES gear (Multiple Integrated Laser Engagement System) was a lot of fun! We could probably share a lot of similar stories about using that stuff! 😂👍🏼

The thing is, rooting means something different in Aus...
Canned brown bread is an awesome addition to an emergency larder. Lasts for a very long time, and is chock full of calories. To me, it's desert in a can. And you can get canned brown bread with raisins in it, for extra tastiness.
I just moved, and it took me two days to move my pantry. I have a LOT of canned food. Because canned food is quite often good for many years after the "best by" date. I just ate some canned cranberry sauce that was "best by" in 2021. Tasted just fine, and i am still here, so edible for sure.
It’s my understanding that Paul’s time left with us is short. I like the guns videos but over the last few years, Paul’s thanksgiving special has become my favorite. It is tradition to watch this on thanksgiving. I hope Roy carries on the tradition.

I've always had chili with ground beef and beans, I thought everyone did. That food looks good. I also like that chest too. Happy Thanksgiving Paul and everybody watching.
Always do it with beef and beans. I also like to use some beef bullion cubes and a couple of fresh cloves of garlic, and then anyone who wants it spicier (usually me), can dash on some more of the Tabasco sauce.

The two chili factions obviously have never been to a real chili cook-off. It's mind-blowing as to how many different delicious styles that are out there.
It always staggers me when I hear people in Houston (where I currently live) say that "Texas Chili has NO beans!"
I have lived in this city for 17 years and every restaurant that serves chili makes it with beans. When I learned how to make chili, it was from my middle school football coach, a man born and raised in Texas. When he made venison chili at the end of football season (coinciding with the end of deer season), he would have all the players bring in one ingredient he needed. Both years he asked me to bring the same thing, 4 cans of Ranch Style Beans.
Don't trust anyone who makes a blanket statement like "chili does not have beans," they are as Paul would say "50% right, 100% wrong."

Paul, I'm stuck working while my wife and child go to Thanksgiving back in our hometown. I know you do these long videos for people that for various reasons cannot, or do not, enjoy the holiday with their family. Thank you!
Currently in U.S. army cav OSUT graduate next Thursday got my phone all day since were almost done and it’s the holiday I’ve been looking forward to this presentation for weeks. So I’m gonna sit in my bay enjoy my friends conversations and watch this today.
You were spot on with the Army training at JRTC. Everyone has stories about what a shitshow they were lol. Our company tried to shoot down our own medivac helicopter because we thought it was enemy air support. I also remember being soaking wet for hours after one of their spring rainstorms and thinking "It's okay, I have dry clothes in my ruck. Once we get back, I'll put on some fresh socks and a shirt, then everything will be all right". I get back to find it had flooded and my ruck was literally bobbing in a pit of water. Nothing has ever crushed my spirit like that. Devastated. Heartbroken. Those waterproof bags- weren't. The rest of the field exercise was in wet clothes and a wet sleeping bag. Never been so miserable in my life. Good times.
For a small moment I forgot I am living with neighbors within 15 feet on both sides of me and a local scenery of consumer fast food outlets, big box stores and malls. Thank you for this!
