This guy is so damn TALENTED as a musician and song writer. I have followed Dwight since Hillbilly Deluxe and although his style has ranged from bluegrass to rockabilly you can always count on superb material from him Dwight is king !
Another deceptively great effort by Dwight. At first seems run of the mill .. maybe even generic. Simple lyrics about not being able to get it right, still trying. Then by about the third or fourth listen it clicks in .. the guitar work (is that Eugene Edwards on the track?), the flat-picking, and of course his vocals. Just gets stuck in your head. Every thing this guy does just swings. Also .. is it just me, or does the Apple iPhone "mail whoosh" sound appear at several points during this recording? (first example at 00:50).

I just heard DY perform this song live in Asheville this evening. He performed it in a slower tempo and more subdued drumming. It is absolutely the most well written and beautiful song I’ve heard recently. I hope he records a version similar to the concert interpretation. Thank you DY for your appreciation and knowledge of the music I grew up with and for playing in Asheville!

My God! New?!! My very favorite artist. Sometimes I pass him over, and I always get mad at me for that when I pull out my "Dwight Live" album again, because he is the truest versiin of artist we have had in years n years. I just happened on this video, because I needed a Dwight fix. New?! I swore this was from his early years. I'm so excited...new Dwight music! No computer generated, autotune covered bullshit. Just a man and his guitar and his talent.
