Two things you were wondering about. 1. The "bomb" in the roof is actually much worse than you thought, it's a spent headcrab shell from The Combine, a giant mortar round that releases a bunch of the horrid little parasites that make your still living body attack your friends (at least in their original form) 2. The vortessance that Chadwich mentioned is a real thing, Vortigaunts are all psionically linked, hence why they say "we", they also see the future, past, and present all at once, though they're usually much more...."scholarly"
The little Gman bits at the start of each round are little spoofs of fighting game round starts. Those being BlazBlue Central Fiction, Guilty Gear Strive and BBTag. Even the little bit before the fight is a spoof of BlazBlue's loading screen before fights.
"The G-Man is an enigmatic and mysterious character that appears in nearly every title of the Half-Life series. Referred to as a "sinister inter-dimensional bureaucrat", he is known to display peculiar behavior and wield reality-bending powers."
Never heard him be called the "sinister inter-dimensional bureaucrat" But it is true that it is thought that the man in the suit is the true person puppeting things in the Half-Life Story.
Airier never played the game but he gets frustrated about a spoof that relies on you knowing in game lore like who Gman is. It really makes me think Airier is just a very superficial person who grabs popular videos and does these low tier reactions for cheap clicks.
So the bullet points; The Pokémon battle isn't in Half-Life 1 or 2. But it probably is/can be done in Gmod which is Half-Life adjacent. Likewise, all the "weapons" the Doc has are tools from Gmod - which again, Half-Life adjacent, along with every other Source engine game being a literal sandbox for them all. The Physics Gun is a "reskin" of the Gravity Gun, used for utility stuff in Gmod, whilst in Half-Life the Gravity Gun... Well, ever wanted to yeet sawblades at zombies? :) (edit: ah, you figured it out) And the disembodied narrator is the G-man. He's some kind of outsider being that in Half-Life has been "guiding" the various main characters. He eludes to working for some kind of organization on a higher plane of existence. If you know Star Trek then he's a less extravagant Q. Also; the scientist that Trooper rescued... Yeah, that's the main villain of Half-Life 2. The puppet governer of Earth the Combine put into power.
The round start up guy is a character from the game known as Gman or Government man, it is clear in the game he is not human nor do we know his true form other then that his "employers" send him off to push people and or events in play in other words he is a universal anomaly.
I recommend watching a series like Freeman's Mind to help get in touch with lore and events in Half Life like the Incursion or playing games cause my god they are so good!
You need to watch lore vid on the Gman and resonance cascade incident, the xeno are just alien but both the suit guy and the cascade does give context wen you know them
The “HEVEN OR HELL” quote if from a fighting game called “Guilty Gear” which has (in my opinion) one of the best video game sound tracks. As for the guy in the suit he is known as the “G-man” he is an enigmatic figure in the half life universe no one knows what he wants or what his goals are or if he has an agenda only that he has other worldly powers and manipulates certain events in the Half-Life Universe.
Not to um actually, but this gun (blue light with a beam) is the Physgun while gravity gun is the orange one without a beam. The gravity gun throws objects while the Physgun has fine object manipulation.
@@redgunnit Yeah, the idea there was that Dr. Bags was sent a prototype gravity gun which he struggled to get working (he's a chirurgeon!) but Shock Roach crawling in it created the physgun.

I'm not a fan of people explaining Half Life elements in the comments. Because I believe he is going to have a much more interesting time finding out for himself what these elements are. And the fact that he has no clue of what is going on makes this a unique reaction series. As you would expect most people who watch half life fan content would know what half life is. Not going to stop anyone from doing so, I just think it's more fun that way for everyone involved.
Internet Historian on his third channel called Storymode made Half-Life 1 explained if you want to react to his version of Half Life one and DLC's lore.
I'm actually surprised that you don't know who Gman is. It's like, gaming popular culture. It can be expected that zoomers don't know, but you're in that age bracket that I though you would XD
You should play half-life. At least 1 and 2. Those are certified classics. If the old graphics is a problem, Black Mesa is a remake of 1 and honestly it’s pretty good. Faithful to the original with graphics even better than in 2
If you know nothing about Half-Life why do you try to make all references in this video to look out of place? It is kind of logikal that if it appears in here it is from games so get some knowlage or just roll whit it. Hate when people know nothing about something yet try to comprehend everything in video that is obviously one big fun montage.

27:10 The correct reaction to the most mysterious character of all of gaming. Less than 15 minutes of total screentime, but such an impact.

the guns from the start were also from Gmod, it's the tool gun, although not multiple guns in the game, it can change what it does from the menu.

'Zero-point energy gun' is the name of the weapon in-game, it's called a 'gravity-gun' by players because of how it actually works in gameplay.

the " narrator " during the battles is the G-man.
Fun fact, Gianni Matragrano, the voice actor of Gabriel in ULTRAKILL voices the announcer and G-Man (the dude that appears in the round intros)
