Big D is the Emperor, Kitten is Kitten, Door is Rogal Dorn, Marckus is Magnus, Boy is Boy. Brok Blacklaw is clearly an Ork, hell one of his flunkies is literally named Git.
Is it that hard to draw the connection that Grimal is the H:tP version of Shadowsun? Hell, if you watch the live chat replay of the original video, you'll see that all the commenters are outright screaming that she's very much like the Tau.

I think it's almost certain Markus actually was the one that caused the curse.
1) He had the Blacklaw heirloom and made Slackjaw agree to a trade. You can interpret this as an 'object of power' or something similar.
2) Markus pronounced that if he broke the deal Slackjaw would be affected by the sickness of dogs long past and that he'd regret harming them tenfold.
3) Slack jaw breaks this agreement, activating the curse.
4) The "sickness of dogs long past" is the salmonella in Slackjaw's drink.
5) Markus's counterpart in 40K and TTS is Magnus the Red, who is basically a wizard.
6) The goth chick says, "Hm, I wonder." She's the member of the group that studies curses and probably was wondering if Markus had cast a curse.
Or maybe the goth chick, Elise, was the one to curse him with "Curses!" Uttered.
So Markus was an Awakened? Idk if he's a Technocracy one or a Traditions one... but he's probably not so superior to a sleeper, maybe recently awakened and trined by D?

@Wnations95 Not gonna lie, that kinda sucks. I mean, I get why, but I wish they reworked it to better fit the style of the Kuei-Jin operations.
I mean, it fits in with the idea of different Vampires around the world, especially since they're based on Jiangshi. And some of their beliefs and functions are based on things like the Six Heavens and Feng Sui's Wu Xing star. It feels like a waste for sonething that could be made more interesting and cohesive to the setting.

The Fae are very rarely encountered by the Arcanum and Airier, you can do a basic level of a research on the Fae and realize how *ridiculously* powerful those critters are. Though I am not sure if Elise is referring to the True Fae themselves or the Kithain. The Fae you typically see in the Deep Dreaming, which would require a whole DOCKET of information that I do not have the ability to give, but just know- its a lot.
Honestly, Hunter is pretty much 40k levels of OP at times lmfao, they use the same idea of 'if everything is OP, nothing is' as that franchise.

Tremeres can't blood bound anyone and the pyramid is gone. It's only logical why they refer to them as blanks since hunters called them like this for a very long time.

And considering there is also horse possessed by a demon and ghosts I feel like it can't really be 5e. (Cause demons started appearing more in the world only near the end of the world when Lucifer showed himself in Chicago.) 5e has too many blank slates left to retcon.
I feel like you glossed over the fact Marckus almost got himself, his family and friends killed.
He broke masquerade in front of a ghoul, the only reason they didn't have a vampire hit team being put together to hunt them was because Big D got to the ghoul first literally a few hours ago. Marckus said their interrogation was literally the night before meaning Big D only recruited him last night. Marckus himself prob hasn't fully realized how close to being killed he got his friends.

@@migrivp2672 Meta wise, its impossible for ghouls to use the more esoteric vampire discipline such as thaumathurgy (wizardly thing), protean (transformation) or viscicitude (fleshcrafting). Also time travel is an ability almost enterily out of reach for even the most accomplish blood wizard. You need true magic for that... and i cant imagine being a ghoul for years does much good to your avatar (the thing that wizard need to awaken as a mage, kindred lose that thing at rebirth).

Since no one's said anything about it, I can explain the record Grimal showed them.
Masayoshi Takanaka was an 80s Japanese guitar god, absolute legend. The album "The Rainbow Goblins" is real, and based on a children's book of the same name following a group of evil goblins who lasso rainbows and drain them of color for sustenance. They learn of a "rainbow valley" and journey to drain it and end up drowning along the way.
I only knew because Primus did their own adaptation in 2017 called "The Desaturating Seven".
So to explain the song at the end. For the last 4 or so episodes/audio logs karl the deranged has been telling a story about a boy being chased by his undead grandmother. This one and the previous one were in the form of songs. The one before that was a story told over stick figures and the one before that was just karl talking in darkness. If you go back and listen to just those segments in order it might make more sense. Also, while I think there are only four it is possible I am forgetting one so maybe go back one episode more just to make sure.
In the world of darkness "Grandmother" has another connotation as well, a nickname for an entity known as "The Grand Maw" the incarnation of entropy and oblivion.

Applejack is a spirit that used to be popular in colonial America, particularly New England. It was typically made from apple cider, by a process known as "jacking". The beverage would be left in barrels during winter to freeze, and the ice was removed periodically. This would concentrate the alcohol content and the flavor. The Arcanum:
as stated, not quite a "hunter organization" rather than a scholar one. They prefer investigation in supernatural rumors and legends they hear about rather than what activities hunters are all about (neiberhood patrols, ghost hunting, exorcisisms and supernaturals hunting in general). They are a rather recent addition to the world of darkness (late 1700s, early 1800s i think) as a british gentlemen club interested in the occult. Not quite "we want power so lets summon demons", but rather lets try that Ouija board just for the thrill of it... and then they dug deeper... and found more concrete proof of supernatural society. They were terrified by what they found, but they still adopted a moderate reaction along the line of "lets gather more information before we decide what we should do"... and well they kept doing that to this day.
Basically, they are not hunters because they do not hunt. They are not the inquisition (neither the old spanish one or the 2nd, more recent and modern one, that function along the line of the CIA), nor are they awakened (from hunter the reckoning wich would just be another curious occult subject to them). They are investigators and researchers of the occult that seek to understand the occult by cataloging them. They are not (usually) actors ine the WOD, they are observers... but they do on occasion provide informations to protagonists (read players) in occasion where they believe the situation does require it. Otherwise they dont usually mingle with more active hunters organizations like the inquisition (narrow minded zelots those) or normal hunters (blunt blood thirsty barbarian) that tend to attract a lot more attention than the Arcanum is comfortable with. Hunters are after all usually really mobile. Chapters house, lot less so.

You should look up the yule goat. It is a real thing and yes it gets burned by hoolagins more often than not. Sometimes by surprisingly elaborate means. One channel I used to follow had an annual goat watch where they would start their Christmas episode by checking whether the goat got burned or not.

For reference, Marckus's phone is a Nokia N-Gage: a gloriously infamous piece of gaming history.
This side-talking taco was Nokia's attempt to create a mobile gaming console that was fairly ahead of its time: it could play games, go online, text, make calls, and play videos I think. Pretty much anything an early 2000's snartphone could do, it could do... slightly worse.
Yeah, the buttons were hard enough being a phone with hard-to-use physical buttons, but it also sucked ten types of Ass as the buttond were super clunky for gaming. Plus, the microphone and ear piece were on top of it, which meant the face of the N-Gage would be pointing out wherever YOUR face was at; leading to a very awkward and silly look. In fact, I think was the first thing to receive wide-scale online mockery and memery.
Heard it has good ports of Tomb Raider and Duke Nukem though.

Arier, the Arcanum is more of a research club looking to research the supernatural. Some also want to bring magic to the world even if they don't fully understand why it is a bad idea for a lot of knowledge is lost and destroyed. They also have a semi-close relationship with actual mages.
Before even watching your reaction, Grimal is a treasure, and I listened to the Rainbow Goblins here on YT after this audio log and it's _really_ good.
The reason for the word **Blank** is actually in line with the term **Blank body** is referring to the low body temp vampires naturally have. It is a recent term BTW.

Actually, the squats Marcus talked about doing are impressive. Low bar squats are you lean forward and do squats while moving into a forward angle and back up. That means he is doing an exercise that has him leaning forward and moving the entire body up and down with 260lbs multiple times without falling on his face or breaking his back. I assume multiple items as exercises like that are generally in sets of 5-20. With 5-10 being on heavier weight. It is less impressive if it was single set to see how strong he is, but still, that is doing a combo of bending over and squatting over 200lbs, not a lot of people can do that.
I mean I could, but I can do a straight squat of over 350bs, but it can be hard without proper form.

So, for the benefit of anyone that has not tried to google it: The Rainbow Goblins is a jazz/rock fusion album. I think it was still pretty rare at the time the story takes place.
So, uh, some parallels to WH40K that you appear to have missed:
Grimal being Kitten's ex, blue/cyan-haired, *and* an extreme weeb makes her seem like she's this world's version of Shadowsun.
With Marckus as the obvious Tzeentchian stand-in with his intellectuality and interest in the supernatural (and now the hints of him being a latent mage), Harry seems to represent Khorne with his physicality (big muscles, regularly goes to the gym, was pissed and about to get physically violent with Brok and his flunkies when they started throttling his friends), Grimal seems quite Slaanesh-y with her shameless degeneracy, and Elise's morbid humor and interests along with her rather... large build remind me of Nurgle.
Brok, Git and Spit come across as quite Ork-like in designs and behavior, like either a Warboss and two regular Boyz, or an Ork and two Gretchin minions.
Also, fun fact: Salmonella infection is commonly passed on to humans through infected animals, especially pets... like dogs. Puts the "sickness of dogs past" curse into a different perspective, huh?
Grimal is a lot closer to tau, hell she's even supposed to be kittens rx AKA Shadowsun and Harry is way too nice to be a khorne analog

Harry seemed to mostly actually hold back from getting violent and wanting to deescalate somehow... Which doesn't feel very Khorne.

Nah, no way Markus has that high Arete and Entropy, it's almost certainly Wild Talent merit, if we want to get really mechanical, because otherwise the Arete would show much more narratively and the Spheres are normally about conscious understanding of principles governing such a Sphere, which Markus seems to lack.
Kuie-Jin are basically but not really Asian Vampires. They have a few favore differences but they are basically the exact same thing as vampire.

The cop was ghouled by Kevin, the Vampire Wizard. I dont know much about Vampire: The Masquerade, but i can wager a guess to say that him drinking Kevin's blood gave him magic abilities, based on how the whole Diablerization thing works in the Masquerade universe.
The blades exploding was the cop casting a spell to dismantle them before he could use them. He stepped in when he did because he either hasnt had enough of Kevin's blood yet to be able to cast a spell strong enough for the big blade, OR Kevin's blood isnt as potent as the Lady Regent's, thus not potent enough to give him the ability to cast a strong enough dismantle spell to break it.
EITHER THAT or hes not used to it, and with the second blade physically harming Slackjaw, he didnt wanna risk maiming him worse with the big blade.

Not directly related to the video but I think Kitten here is some kind of Kinfolk. Their the mostly human relatives of werecreatures who possess some latent genes from them but can't manifest their abilities. If I remember right though, they are tougher and still kind of animal like so it's certainly a possibility. Plus I think when he was referring to those dumb enough to trust them, I think he means he was betrayed by someone he trusted, possibly part of his family. Just my theory on the matter

Also most of this seems like world build for THIS iteration of WoD Norfolk. It's really good world building and I love it.
So the Kuei-Jin were a separate group of undead unrelated to vampires, but generally referred to as such by ignorant Western vampires who couldn't be bothered to consider any soul-sucking undead monstrosity as anything but a vampire Clan or Bloodline that simply forgot their origins. They were a thing in World of Darkness for a while, and their lore is actually tied in with the Imbued from Hunter: The Reckoning, but as the Kuei-Jin were kind of a product of the times and would be regarded as culturally insensitive now, White Wolf has been trying to bury them without expressly retconning them out of existence like Games Workshop did with the Squats back in the day.
