DE is one of the best pickstyle bassists out there, along with Carl Cadden-James (Shadow Gallery) and Dave West (Dixie Dregs). I can't fathom playing this smoothly and consistently with a pick. I met Dave West at NAMM, asked him about this, and he simply said, "Lots of practice!"

Coming from experience, this is NOT easy to play on bass! I always like to use this as an example when people say that the bass is easy.
