- Have you ever wanted to see inside a temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints? Here's a sneak peek of the Richmond Virginia Temple before the open house begins on Saturday, March 24, 2023.
Notice the Jeffersonian-influenced design cues, especially with the front facade and interior use of rich, vibrant colors.

I went in on Friday and I can testify of its beauty and focus on the savior.
There are those who would say "why do you not use that money to feed the poor?"
But Jesus said "The poor shall always be with you, but I may not."
Truly, Temples are HIS house, and we can get closer to THE LORD as we attend
Ironically, we do help poor people all over the world. The Temple has a different purpose. Just as a Relief Society president does not direct the Young Men's program, the Temple is not a Bishop's Storehouse.
The Temple feeds the soul and the soul last forever.
Did you know The Church gives away nearly $1B each year for third world poverty and global disaster relief?

I have been crying for about an hour now because I served there on my mission from 2017-2019. This temple means everything to me, and I know it means the world to those who live in Virginia.

I love how they design temples based on the individual locations. A nod to the variety of Gods people. United in their devotion to Him.
Brother and sisters, this is beautiful blessings come from heaven, the new temple begin to blessing all the faithful church members, even all the children of god, the temple is most important part to gather isreal, i have strong feeling and testimony about the temple, the prophet courage us to go temple often, we need to do it, i know this true

I really liked the design of this Temple with the round dome at one end similar to the Jefferson Memorial and the colums on the side. I hope they made it as large as they could . The interior was also unique and beautiful .

I wish that it had muraled instruction rooms. A mural with the Shenandoah Valley, the Chesapeake Bay, and other aspects of the Virginia landscape would be breathtaking. But the final product is still gorgeous tho! 😊
Yes, sadly the murals seem to be a thing of the past.. I remember going to different rooms in the live sessions. - are there any temples still doing live sessions?

@@danger2dm used to be just salt lake and manti. Both are being remodeled and I understand neither will be live anymore. Plus with the changes, it would be impossible to do the live one anymore. But we will, center I thought on Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.

So, pictures of Jesus are welcome in the temple....but not in the Sacrament meeting rooms?? I am confused by this. There needs to be beautiful pictures of Jesus in every LDS chapel worship hall.
Why does he say belong to the people in that area. The church belongs to heavenly father to bring back his children to do the special blessings. All temples are for all walk of life, doesn't belong to the people of VIRGINIA.
The church always fashions temples to fit in with the local architecture, and that architecture is unique in that area, and you misunderstand the statement.
There is no other temple in the world that coincides with the architecture of Thomas Jefferson's historical buildings, in that respect, it is Virginia's temple.
It's like when we say we are children of God - obviously that will always be true.... but He created our bodies using materials from this Earth. This Earth is our home and eventually it will be an outpost of heaven after it's celestialized. Its matter will be always part of our celestial bodies. We belong to this Earth.
Just one way of looking at it.
The local patrons at each temple say "that's our temple." Evenso, engraven on each temple is "The House of The Lord ." 2:02 Depending on how one views it, I think its an alright thing to say.
