Public tours begin this week for the Casper Wyoming Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. A public open house will take place from Thursday, August 29, through Saturday, September 14, 2024, excluding Sundays.
The Casper Wyoming Temple will be the second operating house of the Lord in Wyoming.

For those who don't know, the flower in the stained glass is the Indian Paintbrush. It's the state flower of Wyoming. It's also a symbol of love, transformation, and Spiritual connection with a higher power, all things that the temple stands for

I remember my family went up there for the 2017 solar eclipse and I joked about the possibility of a temple being built there and my parents explained that there weren’t enough members and the city was small with few members, and after that it became a joke in our family every conference that they would announce a temple in Casper, assuming that they would never build one for what we considered to be obvious reasons. Boy was I shocked! 😂 I want to go to the open house hopefully but it’s a bit of a long drive

Isn’t it wonderful that the Church is bringing temples closer to the members now. We need the strength that comes through making these sacred covenants as much as the pioneers did before leaving Nauvoo.

My wife and I live in SW Wyoming, the fact we have two now is a wonderful blessing, I always joke with my family every Conferance, this will be the year we get a temple here in SW Wyoming, well this last April I told my wife and I quote " they'll build a temple in outer Mongolia before we get one" well I was right 😉🤣 to be honest there are a half a dozen temple's an hour and a half of our home and that's perfect, have a blessed day.

but yet they won't tell you how much it costs or what they do inside it? thats the problem with mormonism all secrecy that goes on with it.

@@jorgenvonstrangle4725 There are loads of videos published by the church that talk about what happens inside the temples. As for the cost of temples, what price would you put on something meant for the Lord? If the church had no money, we would still build temples. The purpose is what matters. That said, you can find estimates on temples, anywhere from $7 million to $70 depending on the size. Of course the church has no intention of using them for profits, so the traditional "valuation" of a building doesn't really have a purpose for the church either.

@@kenton6804well said. The value of the temple is much more than the cost of the materials and labor involved. Like the Israelites of old, we put our best into these houses of the Lord. The materials and labor associated with the tabernacle were small compared to the blessings received there while they traveled in the wilderness for those 40 years.
From Adam and Eve to my husband and me, families have been, and will continue to be, blessed through our covenant relationship with God. The highest level of these covenants requires the sacredness of a temple.
