That is awesome! I love how the church is continuing what Brigham Young said in 1863, "“I want to see [the] temple built in a manner that it will endure through the millennium."
There’s so many connections we can make from this to our own spiritual foundations. Something that struck me is the way the earth is supported from the sides to stop the weight of the building from smooshing it out. How many times have friends and family supported me and stopped the “earth” from coming out from under me when my own spiritual foundation renovations were taking place?
That's amazing. As an engineer, this blows me away that they can do this with an existing structure. I'm pretty sure whoever came up with this remodel design was inspired of God.
Did you see how they Constructed the Provo City Center Temple? That Temple was once the Provo Tabernacle in Downtown Provo Utah. My Relatives the Jacosen's were the owners of the Construction Company that made the City Center Temple what it is today with the help off many other's. I think they're also the ones doing the Salt Lake Temple .
@@peterjohnson7710 I believe the engineers and construction company had to dig out from underneath the former Provo Tabernacle and put it up on stilts to rebuild the foundation. Is that correct? If so, that’s another example of inspired genius at work.
Just as the temple is under renovation, i too am under spiritual renovation to withstand the tremors and shaking of the adversary in these last days. The stabilizing grace of our Heavenly Father will always sustain those who seek to do his will. Gods name be praised forever and ever. Peace and blessings 🙏🏽
This preparation is inspiring! It’s a parable for how we should be spiritual reinforcing our structure so that earthquakes won’t rock our foundation 🙏🏼
Aloha hugs 🤗 I worked in the Laie Temple over 17 years ago we had A Earthquake it had to be stabilize After my two years of Service. We had to fly to Kona, San Diego Temple is on 12 12 Foot Springs. AWESOME Structural Engineers. THE most amazing Video.
Thank you for sharing the work and progress being made on our behalf for this Beautiful and Iconic Temple! I loved learning about the important steps being made to reinforce the Salt Lake Temple. I didn't realize just how detailed and involved it would be to preserve a structure as Sacred as this one, but I'm so grateful for all those who are taking extremely careful measures to ensure its survival not only in its eventual outcome and possible future events, but also During the process. It reminds me of a thought that I had during your shorter video version of this. It reminded me that there's also a lot of hidden processes that We each undergo as we strive to follow Jesus Christ and live His Gospel. Although people might not see our individual Spiritual, Foundational Renovations, we can still choose to upgrade our Spiritual Seismic capacity by building our Spiritual Foundation on Jesus Christ, the Chief Cornerstone and Bedrock of our Faith. As we choose to do so, with Christ's Secure Foundation, we can withstand the Spiritual tremors - or even earthquakes, that Satan and his followers use, as they seek to destroy.
Absolutely mind-blowing! How brilliant - and inspired - is the person who came up with this plan to say “Ok, here’s what we’re going to do and here’s how we’re going to do it.” I don’t know who the chief engineer is on this project, but I’m willing to guess his initials are JC.
People of faith showed Heavenly Father how much they love Him by building beautiful catherdrals and temples most with much sacrifice. This renovation is one year later and other temples have been built since then, It is still in the works.
I visited the construction site in October 2020 and was amazed to see the foundation of the Temple about 60 feet down. I did a session in Salt Lake in 2001 with great memories.
This is truly an engineering marvel and will go down in history as one. It simply emphasizes the great and marvelous work that is performed in temples throughout the world. I feel so blessed to be a tiny part of this divine work.
The extensive structural fortification of the temple should serve as an example of how we must spiritually fortify our families and communities against the coming troubles. Lots of difficulties, and miracles, will precede the 2nd coming.
@ChurchNewsroom Thank y💖u for this informative update on our wonderful historical site progress of extremely hard work that is has been & is being done to our Salt Lake City Temple... Thank y💖u all from thee Church, thee faithful tithe payers & all thee hard working professionals in all your hard work labors helping preserve & restore our beautiful Temple that us members & all thee faithful members from way back in there days that worked there all in hopes to see this amazing Temple in what it is today & what it will be in the future through all the tests of time... Thank y💖u President Nelson & all those involved to help this hardworking project along... You all will be blessed & I'm sure have been blessed in many ways helping our church along 💖🏩💖🪜⛏😇🦺⚒🛠🧰
It's fascinating just how much engineering, math, physics, geology, and other sciences go into this. Wow. Huge props to everyone who worked so hard to come up with and execute such a thorough plan. Of course that includes help from the Spirit, so I'm glad they were in tune with that and had the skills and intelligence needed to understand and act on those more specific promptings.
I feel like if you consider the sacrifices made by the Utah pioneers in order to build this temple as a percentage of their wealth and capabilities, that this, though enormously expensive and time consuming even by today's standards, pales in comparison to their sacrifices to build that temple in the first place.
How we can survive earthquakes is the same way: 1- base isolation - a foundation that lets the Earth move and not the building. Steadfast and immovable. 2- structural reinforcement - Being able to move as ONE with God and with the Saints with Him 3- footings - the rods, like the rod of Iron or the word of God 4- cylindrical beams and wall - having supports that can handle the weight placed on it 5- lower foundation - firm foundation in Christ and not our own ability. It must be flexible and willing to move as the Lord wills, not stiff. 6- structural integrity - honesty and uprightness before God, making sure that our top is connected to our roots.
Nicely done...I've been curious about this process and design since the upgrade was announced! Glad I'm not the guy drilling holes down through the temple...talk about stress!
It is a testiment to our being of royal birth. Heavenly Father's children have built beautiful cities, bridges, roads, etc. etc. on the face of this jewel of an earth. How can one say we have no intelligent creator?
I wonder what level of earthquake this is designed to withstand. I've heard that the Tabernacle was retrofitted to survive a 8.0 earthquake. Having lived through 2 major earthquakes in southern California and seeing massive devastation, it's comforting to know that we are preparing to avoid such destruction. Incredible!
Has any other stone building on Earth been given this much love, time, and resources? Symbols are worth preserving and this is the crowning symbol of love, looking up and looking down.
The glory of God is intelligence. We are His children. He expected great things of us when He sent us down to this earth. The only thing that has hindered us from even greater accomplishments is the Detractor. (yup, satan)
There is more to learn from this then what is physical. There are soooo many spiritual things to learn too. Having a firm foundation that we are regularly reinforcing through daily repentance, prayer and scripture study (specifically in the Book of Mormon as President Nelson has said ) Knowing our ancestors helps us reinforce or build our foundation adding their strength. Doing their work allows them to be able to help us spread more strength, knowledge/light throughout our whole structure in angles towards different weaknesses/challenges and trials. This helps us to gain confidence and spreads to the top (The future and Eternity). Helping us to make it through the days ahead and be focused on our Savior. To watch and look forward with great excitement and anticipation for His Second Coming with our fellow Christians as we serve, help and lift each other and unify in the Body of Christ as Believers. Can I get an Amen?! 😉🌍🌎🤟🥰
That is very interesting. Thanks for sharing. I'm guessing that it was very expensive to do this work, but in the end it will be well worth it to protect the sacrifices of our fore-bearers.
Makes you wonder why the church would make it earthquake proof and put out this video one week before the huge earthquake in Turkey. Heavenly Father is always with us if we are faithful. ❤
4:07, That is by far never been said and done in years. This is amazing for the Salt Lake City Utah temple to be done right. This is amazing. I love seeing the Salt Lake City temple every time I go traveling down to Salt Lake City every time of my life. This is such a really powerful thing that is going on right now in the Salt Lake Temple. Thanks be to the Lord and savior of it all.
It is just amazing and inspiring. It seems to me that THIS TEMPLE was designed and built to wait for this adjustment of our days. It is so miraculous to see all these holdings going through the structures. HEAVENLY FATHER lives.
I’m amazed how they design this project. But trying to follow up on most steps they put together on the foundation is difficult. As a student studying architecture I am anxious how everything is put in place.
Absolutely incredible work that they are doing. What is being done to the interior? I presume the floors and their support structures are also being redone.
You know they only did this because of the earthquake that's coming. Kinda crazy though how much went into shoring up the foundation. I thought it was as simple as installing the slip discs under the foundation. That was a seriously involved process.
As soon as I heard the church was reinforcing the temple to protect it against earthquakes I immediately thought this. At least we know a big one won't happen until they finish this. After that...
They also said God, Himself, couldn't sink the Titanic... time will tell. I think the symbolism of the foundation is more in line with the fact that the LDS church is on a sandy foundation, really being Brigham's church.
Thank you Heavenly father for bringing peace, love and joy to whoever is listening to this. And for your peaceful presence that lives in our consciousness in the name of Jesus our savior Amén
That is awesome! I love how the church is continuing what Brigham Young said in 1863, "“I want to see [the] temple built in a manner that it will endure through the millennium."
I can just see Brother Brigham smiling down upon the Engineers & Workers!! & Joseph too ❤
I totally think that Discovery should make a documentary about this AMAZING work of engineering.
Really neat to see the church take a proactive approach to preserving this building.
There’s so many connections we can make from this to our own spiritual foundations. I am really touched by your comments.

@@LBCORP1960 that is correct, you can look on RUclips and find a time lapse of the work done on the Provo city center temple, it is quite remarkable!
Yes agree!!!

A temple meant to last through the millennium. ❤️
“For hundreds of years to come.” Stunning.
This is one of the coolest things I've ever seen. I can't wait until it's finished!

These comments make an old man in TX Happy! #Eternal Progression☆
Oh wow. That is amazingly complex. Kudos to engineers that came up with this stuff and workers to do it. The Church is awesome.
I can't even fathom the knowledge, expertise, and tremendous undertaking this renovation is! Unbelievable!
That is frickin' AWESOME! 😃 I've been hoping The Church would make a video explaining it just like this. Thank you! 😁
Beautiful building and architectural design

UNDOUBTEDLY, THIS SPEAKS TO MY PERSONAL TEMPLE. MAKING MY FOUNDATION STRONGER THAN EVER IN THE COMING DAYS AHEAD.

Amazing engineering! I had no idea how extensive this renovation was going to be.

This is nothing short of a miracle of modern engineering.
Completely unfathomable how man can think of these things and then implement them! MIND BLOWING! Can't wait until the temple re-opens!

Such a fascinating look at a process I knew basically nothing about beforehand
It is an amazing work for all those who participate in it.
I am hoping they make a documentary of this renovation maybe even a history of the temple renovation since it was built.

Thank you for this wonderful share...it's overwhelming and I am simply touched by the wonders of revelations and gifts!!
I am in awe at the beauty and engineering taking place.
Wow! What an amazing accomplishment! The graphics that show us this are amazing also!
The very fact this video exists is testament to the fact that we are almost certainly close to a massive earthquake in Utah,
I hope not. But the Church always taught us to be prepared.
When I saw this, I thought, "Oh, when will it be done? 2025? So we won't expect any big earthquakes in SLC until then."
Wow, that was a great explanation. I did not know all they were doing. Thanks.
Wow. No wonder this project is taking this long. I can't wait to see it all finished!
This is a pretty intense process. Love the explanation, I was wondering how they were getting it done.
This is absolutely out of my mind. 🤯🤯🤯 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Amazing….just like the original building of the temple. It’s all amazing!!

I love to see the Temple ❤
Thus is an awesome piece of engineering feat.
This process is reminding me a lot of Jacob 5, how the roots must be connected to the top.
That's gonna be some earthquake. Whoever isn't in that temple during that earthquake, sounds like the place you wanna be when it happens
That was an amazing explanation. I had no idea!
This is really, unique
Safe haven! A refuge indeed♥️👏🏽🙏
Amazing work!
Thank you for update. Very cool. Can you update us on the inside of the Temple? What is going on there?
I'd like a sample of the dirt removed once the foundation is finished. It would be like the bricks from the Nauvoo temple.
Congratulations, Well done 🎉🎉🎉
It was great to learn about the renovations. The video would have been so much better without the irritating background noise (music??).
I can't waut till I am worthy to go back in to the temple.
Absolutely incredible work that they are doing. What is being done to the interior? I presume the floors and their support structures are also being redone.
They must be expecting a devastating earthquake.
Have we identified any lamanites working on this current project? I would love to hear their testimonials ❤

Reminds me of when the Lord told Nephi to build a ship, seemed daunting and impossible, but it happened! A great feat made possible!
Amazing technology!

I love this temple. I wish to go there someday in my mortal existence 😀❤️
The millennium will be a thousand years. Read up, hopefully you'll be there. 😉
A more excellent way of building a house upon a stone.
WOW !!! A miracle from heaven................
This is amazing! Thanks for the explanation.
Thank you Heavenly father for bringing peace, love and joy to whoever is listening to this. And for your peaceful presence that lives in our consciousness in the name of Jesus our savior Amén
The salt lake temple is so beautiful I am sore that it will look amazing when it is completed
Very cool.
What a wonderful feat of engineering. No doubt we are blessed by inspiration and revelation from God, especially through His beautiful temples
Completely amazing and inspired.
Glad you think so!
The Lord is about to shake things up!!!!!!
AMAZING!!! Just like the Ark…I’m sure there are systems and engineering going on that we probably don’t even understand…But God does!!!!
Amazing.
Incredible feat of engineering
