I watched this movie after watching the anime and consider it my favorite adaptation of all time. It absolutely enthralled me - the music, the flashbacks, the acting was all on point. I haven't seen a movie with such a faithful and creative live action take on the source material, which for school live would be the manga I think. I also think this movie did do amazing with a lot of things I just kinda didn’t really understand why they did all that parking lot stuff with the race too it was still a good scene tho and that ending little random but still kinda accurate but it would be way to hard to keep the original ending tbh.
Everyone we need a second season of Gakkou Gurashi or School-live We fans have waited too long for another season and the first season did so amazingly well so why not another season? I'll just say this, the anime (from how this is described and what I can see) was a lot better. But that is how all live actions are, they don't live up to the anime. They changed quite a few things, like Miki wasn't actually in the school when found, she was in a Mall and was trapped there until a dog Toromaru lead her out. Yuki does have the illusion that everything is okay because she watched their teacher die. Just so many things got changed from anime to live-action. But the one thing is, the ending to the anime was extremely saddening because of how bitter sweet it was. Honestly if you want the real School-Live experience, the anime is the way to go

even basic cloth/sleeves will be effective to prevent teeth-to-skin contact (it's difficult to pierce through cloth), though with living animals you still have to worry about the pressure of the bite (shark suits, for example, prevent penetration but the force of the bite can still break bones)
My first thought in these movies is always that I'd cover myself in duct tape lol. There's this scene from TWD where someone avoids getting bitten because their arm is covered in duct tape, similar to the rubber bracelet situation.
A potentially interesting movie This, but fully following it from the perspective of the girl in the fantasy for most of the movie. Seems like just a romcom-type thing. But the friends will always be carrying something that could be a weapon. Sometimes leave and come back with blood on them. Could be either really interesting, or boring. But it'd have the fun twist halfway in/near the end, when her memories come back and we see what everything is really like

@@tomxaider2058 That is a very odd logical leap take away from this story. How does "There are no men in this group…" = "Men are better in the eyes of the author…"? Especially when all the named male characters die before the story even starts‽

Where the human just learned vampires are real and now is questioning them about if the various weaknesses for vampires in legends are actually true. When the human gets to the whole stake to the heart killing vampires the vampire responds with "My dear boy a stake to the heart would kill anybody!"

I didn't continue reading but I thought she was just keeping up the act super convincingly to keep the others happy since otherwise they would fall into depression over the state of the world.
Omg I can't believe this I stumbled upon the anime some time ago and it's one of my favorites now I read the manga and all I'm so happy you're putting it out there for more people to discover and enjoy
I just realized that a gimp suit would most probably be one of the most powerful protections you could ever have against zombies. If the world ever does actually end by a walking dead zombie plague and there's an Adam & Eve nearby. I'll be pilfering through their stock for any leather or chains available. Nobody's biting through leather no matter how much they try. The only problem I'll have to face in that world is moving around comfortably and other survivors.
there was a lot of things pointing out Yuki was bullied too before, that's why she likes so much the time she has now with her friends on her "school camp".
I came across this movie about two years ago. I thought it was pretty good. My main criticism was the slow pace, but I liked the characters a lot, and I thoroughly enjoyed the crossing of lighthearted moments and thrilling moments. Then I found an anime existed. I watched the anime and oh boy, I loved it. It did everything the movie did, but better. Except for that one fan service episode, that felt quite unneeded. Still, amazing series. Then a few months ago, I got ahold of the manga. I'm currently on volume 6, which is further than the anime adaptation went. I've been enjoying Gakkougurashi (School-Live) in all its formats! (Also, the manga is better than the anime. Yes, for real. It's worth seeking out for anyone that liked the anime.)
I thought this was a different show/movie and I have now realised it was the anime school-life adaptation and it hit me like a ton of bricks. Because the anime is so sad mostly at the end it made me cry so much one of the only 4 shows to do so.
I know very well the idea of the video is to show how to beat it the most effective way, but what I think is the best of this story is.... they take the worst decisions simply because they are just school girls having to deal with all that and trauma, it gives some deepness and realism to the story, the best example here is Yuki who is completely broken from trauma and can't just go on to the point her mind had to block her memories about all that happened, all other stories of zombies in high schools try to show the teens being like apocalypse survival gods, getting even guns in a country like Japan that has so little amount of them and if they don't they somehow manage to make their own ones, while in School-Live, or better, in Gakkou Gurashi the characters are literally your average high school girls and the story makes sure to show it, their survival was all based in both luck and all of Megumi's (the teacher) efforts before she died they are not who you would expect to survive and even if they survived they are not just freely dealing with everything, the story in the manga doesn't end there and after that the other girls start breaking too and that's amazing, the way each girl's problems and traumas are portrait is just an amazing work in storytelling and the things go to a point where you can say that Yuki who is finally getting a bit better is non ironically the most sane of the group, even if she is not really smart or athetlic, deep down everyone is alive because of her, in the manga while the other 3 were locked in the rooms because of the horde, who saved them was Yuki who managed to sneak inside the radio room, Yuki also saved their minds from falling into despair, giving them some hope in all that situation. I don't want to give much spoilers because there are some crybabies that would hunt my life if I did, but really, this is my favorite manga and a really worth reading, it's different from anything you will read and the final is just really beautiful, Gakkou Gurashi is a story that really teach you to keep your hopes till the very end and don't give up to the despair and that's the only way to people unite and save the world, don't giving up on the world, don't giving up on the future, don't give up on themselves, that's what this manga taught me
I remember watching the anime when I was younger and that time I didn’t know it’s a zombie apocalypse, I thought they lived in the school trying to restore the other students happiness cuz the other students are so depressed they roam around randomly on holiday💀
So this is like the series All of us are dead. Except instead of the virus that causes rage when provoked, it's similar to the walkers from the Walking Dead.
You really got me thinking about different zombie apocalypse scenarios, and since I am travelling tomorrow, it really got me thinking... What happens if you are on a flight? What will they do when you land? If they are able to land in the first place... Will they just kick you out of the plane? Leave you in until you all die of starvation? Cause I'm sure as long as the doors are closed, then no zombie will be able to enter. And anyway, it's not like the pilot will park right beside the stairs where there are zombies waiting... Any anwsers/suggestions???
oh man, when i watched the show, i did not know anything. it was actually a genre search... a comedy, school, sol search got me there... the Anime was so good (well, the first episode, basically having Yukis vision only), you just notice something is off, the more you see it.
I like how people stay all day on his channel to wait for him a video to upload to say "Have a damn good day!"...... I wonder what happens when i say that after someone alr told it... HAVE A DAMN GOOD DAY!!!
I don't know about you but the thought of pulling zombie teeth out with a plier. Just makes me think I'm going to somehow cut myself and get infected or slip and get bit
I was asking myself the question why I enjoy HTB Anime more than this channel. My weeb days are mostly behind me. but I think it's more than nostalgic feeling. background music does the trick I think. puts me more in the mood for horror rather than hyping up my brain to throw my fists at the zombies. Still fun to watch. Just different feeling through quiet background music.
No one had to die if they pretended to be zombies. It's shown that they don't attack each other so why not pretend to be one of them and escape? Now it would be risky if they had a way of identifying each other like super abilities or smell, but they can't. A zombie also walked dead past them when they were silent and on the floor. So, what's to say pretending to be a zombie won't work??
They had a lot of supplies. Even extra school uniforms. I have no idea why they didn't opt for long sleeves and pants and reinforce with duct tape or something
Holy crap this video showing up on my for you page is literally making me scream form happiness I've just finished watching the anime and reading the manga and I've now just been watching whatever the heck I could find from this anime Now this popped up and I'm now on cloud 9
I didn't know they had a live action version but I do hope how to beat anime does the anime version. A month ago I was like wow I am surprised they did how to beat HOTD but not school live.
As a dude who was with a therapist for a decade - i feel confident enough to say: one of the worst ideas you can do with a mentally unstable person is to confront them with it. Especially in a survival situation. You know the response to a flood of trauma at once? Screaming, agitation, confusion, loss of self, etc.. all of these are more dangerous scenarios than a chick who is blissfully unaware. Either you work with her as is, or you leave her. Those are your choices. *i am not a therapist but ive helped a therapist pass all her tests and i proofread her notes for years*
I remember this anime it's a shame it didn't get a second season but the manga continues on padt it and have ine of the girls be half zombie, also yuuki wouldn't bunp into a zombie because of the barriers in the school hallway that are set up and the reason why they don't break her out of the fantasy is because nothing would improve of their situation because she's keeping them happy, also she does avoid going bear zombies because it would break her fantasy so she is subconsciously avoiding them
Thank goodness for this channel because I have a reliable source of info as to how to survive a zombie apocalypse in an Eastern Asian school as an American 😮💨💯
Okay, I’m trained in hand to hand combat and know how to use a gun. Even though I would want to avoid that, (cuz of noise), I still can use melee weapons, (spears, Freddy Krueger glove). Then try to make my way to a suburb, and make a cockroach/worm farm. I can also use vegetables and animals (that would be so lucky) for rarer resources. Also, trying to dig a structure/base. Edit: My gf would probably do even better than me tho 😂

We need some sort of zombie movie set in some Slavic high school. I don't know about other ones, but Polish ones have some stuff. Giving away vodka to minors, smoking vapes and real ciggies, carrying pocket knives is widespread, yet still acts of violence are ridicoulously rare (at least at my school). We just need firearms present and we can fend off everyone we're not fond of.
Zamn I remember when I first moved to America with my family, watching this anime and wishing a life action, and I did believed in it cause of the anime’s zombie genre, its popularity, and story.
How to beat:- trapped with a friend in a situation,,, sacrifice the friend with cold blood to survive.. trapped with a zombie,,, remove their teeth they won't be threat
I'd start by actually setting fire to all the rooms with zombies. Sure they might be on fire but we already have access to the roof and we can hide out there while the flames pick off potential enemy opponents.
Me: Oh hey, this sounds interesting. _Gets to __2:10_ _Looks at title again._ Oh... How did I not recognize that name earlier? I watched this movie after watching the anime and consider it my favorite adaptation of all time. It absolutely enthralled me - the music, the flashbacks, the acting was all on point. I haven't seen a movie with such a faithful and creative live action take on the source material, which for school live would be the manga I think. Even though I usually avoid zombie media like the plague, I would watch this again and again.
Seeing you discuss it absolutely made my day.
I also think this movie did do amazing with a lot of things I just kinda didn’t really understand why they did all that parking lot stuff with the race too it was still a good scene tho and that ending little random but still kinda accurate but it would be way to hard to keep the original ending tbh.
Knowing the source material Yuki is the emotional support of the group and the most stable one
Everyone we need a second season of Gakkou Gurashi or School-live We fans have waited too long for another season and the first season did so amazingly well so why not another season?
The actual manga has alot more content now along with the fact that in the last episode we got a sneak peak of the next character. They can't just stop producing more suddenly!
Yes we definitely need a season 2 and maybe even an anime movie as well

I'll just say this, the anime (from how this is described and what I can see) was a lot better. But that is how all live actions are, they don't live up to the anime. They changed quite a few things, like Miki wasn't actually in the school when found, she was in a Mall and was trapped there until a dog Toromaru lead her out. Yuki does have the illusion that everything is okay because she watched their teacher die. Just so many things got changed from anime to live-action. But the one thing is, the ending to the anime was extremely saddening because of how bitter sweet it was. Honestly if you want the real School-Live experience, the anime is the way to go
do you know where to watch the anime?

I never even heard news of School-Live! getting a live action adaptation. Suprising, yet still nice to see it get a live adaptation at all.
even basic cloth/sleeves will be effective to prevent teeth-to-skin contact (it's difficult to pierce through cloth), though with living animals you still have to worry about the pressure of the bite (shark suits, for example, prevent penetration but the force of the bite can still break bones)
Yeah I did like that being a big part of Train to Busan. Feels like the most sensible immediate thing to do
I’d recommend going with leather or at least enforcing the cloth with duct tape.
I didn't know they made a live-action version of School-Live! Nice.
My first thought in these movies is always that I'd cover myself in duct tape lol. There's this scene from TWD where someone avoids getting bitten because their arm is covered in duct tape, similar to the rubber bracelet situation.
Duct tape save lives lol
World War Z i think not TWD.

A potentially interesting movie
This, but fully following it from the perspective of the girl in the fantasy for most of the movie.
Seems like just a romcom-type thing. But the friends will always be carrying something that could be a weapon. Sometimes leave and come back with blood on them.
Could be either really interesting, or boring. But it'd have the fun twist halfway in/near the end, when her memories come back and we see what everything is really like
That reminds me of that The Batman episode where Batman is tricked into thinking Gotham has turned into zombies, but really, he was drugged and everyone is Nirmal. Batman ends up almost killing the while city trying to cure it. Then he gets "infected" and everything returns to normal.
with slow clumsy zombies, putting wires/chains in the halls are the best way to take them down easily.
Humans should be able to not trip while zombies will lay flat, becoming easier targets.
Slow zombies would be the easiest apocalypse and shouldn't be an apocalypse at all.
It was a biological weapon people started turning long before there were bites or anything.

They have no reason to leave the school, Japanese schools are designed to be emergency shelters in case of earthquakes. they have water purifiers, generators, emergency supplies, and rooftop gardens.

6:43 What they did here was both Smart and Stupid, two of the smart parts are that they tried to make barricades to protect themselves and they checked the girl for bites, now the stupid parts they now have another mouth to feed and there running low on food to begin with the other part is that if they went down as a group(Smacking Yuki out of her fantasy if they had to) they could have gotten more stuff and maybe even cleaned out the school of zombies as they went that way they'd be able to get more Supplies and maybe even better weapons in order to leave the school with.....

Makes me think of a line from an anime between a human and a vampire. Where the human just learned vampires are real and now is questioning them about if the various weaknesses for vampires in legends are actually true.
When the human gets to the whole stake to the heart killing vampires the vampire responds with "My dear boy a stake to the heart would kill anybody!"
I totally forgot this anime existed. This is a pretty good adaptation!!!! Another great video~
I feel like slow zombies are scarier than fast ones, because at least with fast ones you know the virus is transmitting via bites. When zombies are THIS easy to kill or avoid though? That screams that there's a secondary source of infection, and it's widespread. Is it the water? Airborne? transmitted from mosquitos or something?
I think you're over estimating the amount of ppl who have the mental and physical capacity to deal with a zombie apocalypse.
@@nealtheall7236 I dunno, when the zombies can be defeated by closing and locking a door I feel like there would be more survivors.
That's really the concerning part because if it was that easy to survive them, they'd have been rescued by the army quickly and they wouldn't have to have this experience.
It's kinda like in Project Zomboid; the zombies are slow and in theory it should be easy to just avoid them, but they can clump together real fast.
its true, in school live, they later find out that it was an airborne illness

I just realized that a gimp suit would most probably be one of the most powerful protections you could ever have against zombies. If the world ever does actually end by a walking dead zombie plague and there's an Adam & Eve nearby. I'll be pilfering through their stock for any leather or chains available. Nobody's biting through leather no matter how much they try. The only problem I'll have to face in that world is moving around comfortably and other survivors.

Fan service is necessary because plot 🤥
This movie is the definition of plot armor
I don't want to give much spoilers because there are some crybabies that would hunt my life if I did, but really, this is my favorite manga and a really worth reading, it's different from anything you will read and the final is just really beautiful, Gakkou Gurashi is a story that really teach you to keep your hopes till the very end and don't give up to the despair and that's the only way to people unite and save the world, don't giving up on the world, don't giving up on the future, don't give up on themselves, that's what this manga taught me
Don't excuse their lack of survival skills just because they are teens. I know elementary school aged kids who could do a better job.

No one had to die if they pretended to be zombies. It's shown that they don't attack each other so why not pretend to be one of them and escape? Now it would be risky if they had a way of identifying each other like super abilities or smell, but they can't. A zombie also walked dead past them when they were silent and on the floor. So, what's to say pretending to be a zombie won't work??

As a dude who was with a therapist for a decade - i feel confident enough to say: one of the worst ideas you can do with a mentally unstable person is to confront them with it. Especially in a survival situation.
You know the response to a flood of trauma at once? Screaming, agitation, confusion, loss of self, etc.. all of these are more dangerous scenarios than a chick who is blissfully unaware.
Either you work with her as is, or you leave her. Those are your choices.
*i am not a therapist but ive helped a therapist pass all her tests and i proofread her notes for years*
I remember this anime it's a shame it didn't get a second season but the manga continues on padt it and have ine of the girls be half zombie, also yuuki wouldn't bunp into a zombie because of the barriers in the school hallway that are set up and the reason why they don't break her out of the fantasy is because nothing would improve of their situation because she's keeping them happy, also she does avoid going bear zombies because it would break her fantasy so she is subconsciously avoiding them
I highest suggest checking out the 12 episode anime!

All toxic and make you sick. Throw them away.
Zamn I remember when I first moved to America with my family, watching this anime and wishing a life action, and I did believed in it cause of the anime’s zombie genre, its popularity, and story.

trapped with a zombie,,, remove their teeth they won't be threat
I'd start by actually setting fire to all the rooms with zombies. Sure they might be on fire but we already have access to the roof and we can hide out there while the flames pick off potential enemy opponents.
