It is crazy seeing a performance like this with 70+ instruments going on is done completely live in front of a prime time audience on TV. You could probably pick out a dozen or so mistakes they made, but in the end the performance feels flawless. Thank you for the reaction! Great video.

As much crap as Axl got for being "homophobic" he's publicly stated numerous times throughout his career his 2 biggest influences/idols are Elton John and Freddie Mercury. First album he bought was Night at the Opera and he said after hearing Benny and the Jets he knew he had to be a performer.

The feud between GNR and Nirvana was based on Kurt's hate of corporate based music and considered GNR as sell outs. Axel had invited Nirvana to open for them on one of there tours and Kurt blantly refused saying they could not possibly open for a band who insults feminist and is the complete opposite of what Nirvana stands for. Axel was a huge fan of Nirvana and he wore a Nirvana shirt in Dont Cry video. Axel later set fire to his Nirvana hat.

i love this song. it is my all time favorite of theirs. but nothing compares to seeing Axle Rose and Sir Elton John on the same stage, playing the piano together. every time i hear this performance, i get chills. i was actually supposed to be there at that show. but unfortunately, i got sick and could not make it. i can only look back on this as one of the two rock and roll moments i missed out on with regret.

Pretty shure now, but you did'nt say his name (for the newcomers) To be said afterwards: The blond one on the guitar is Eddie Van Halen. Legend for Guitar Sounds over decades. Sorry from my side to correct this for senseless Visitors. Me as an Austrian Guy (little nowhere in Europe) watched the whole video two times, to not miss anything. This childlike, innocent smile is one in a world. Thank's for this reaction!!!!

Great performance... then came the last part, the last monumental part, with the legendary guitar solo... that felt... rushed. Was it me, or did they change the pace?

People forget that Kurt Cobain was always talking mad shit about other bands. He couldn't help himself.
And because he was doing it all the other grunge posers started attacking the rock and metal bands that came before them. Even though many years later they could finally admit that they actually loved those bands and grew up playing their songs.

      Considering the circumstances, no.
Giving an emotional speak just minutes before, speaking about a dear friend gone, almost tearing up, and in his 60's.
But yes it did not sound good if you count out the circumstances. Most of us would not have gotten a tone out of ourselves after holding such an emotional speak literally minutes before
