    I have a 2003 EZ GO TXT just replaced the carburetor, fuel pump, filters. Cart sat for a while. Runs pretty good. Boggs down on inclines in forward. Although has no issues in reverse, actually drove it back to my campsite in reverse last night.

    I have a EZGO Workhorse ST350 2007. Bought it this month. Did not know anything until your vids. Did two carb cleanings, set the valves and now it blows carbon out the exhaust. Has low compression also. Was supposed to be rebuild.

      Low compression is 100 psi on both after adjusting valves. Carbon was caused by carburetor float sticking.

    Kevin, I have an 06 Yamaha gas cart, it don't move I either direction, you hear something turning but not going anywhere either direction. Then some times it grabs and your fine. It seems like it happens when it sits over night. The cart is hardly used, maybe three months out of the year. Then it sits again until the following year when we come back to house. Anything I should be looking for, you hear it wanting to go, but nothing happens

    I have a similar problem now. Thought I may have a solenoid problem - but not sure.
    Question on the cart that you worked on in the video… Would the motor have started on the cart prior to your battery work - if you had jumped the solenoid with a screwdriver?

    Just had a Club Car with this issue at random. They installed a FORD solenoid (not designed for constant duty as in a Golf Car) and all the wires were loose! It was hotter than a fire cracker when I had reproduced the issue it came in with.

    • @Kevinsgolfcarts
      @Kevinsgolfcarts  2 года назад +1

      Belts are fairly straight forward. You need to remove the drive belt in order to change the starter/generator belt. It takes brute force to roll the drive belt over the secondary clutch. Make sure the cart is in neutral, key off, brakes locked.

    Kevin, I have a 2003 ezgo txt. Question: Can an electric `12 volt fuel pump be substituted for the factory pump? Factory pump has three ports, input, output and pulse. The electric pump only has two, input and output. If this can be done, what becomes of the pulse line?

    • @Kevinsgolfcarts
      @Kevinsgolfcarts  Год назад

      You "can" use an electric pump. The vacuum pumps are more than adequet for the job. Is there a reason you want to switch to electric? You would have to plug off the vacuum line or cap the port on the engine. If you do use an electric pump, make sure its no more than 1 psi. Higher pressures will push gas past the float valve.

    See my problem is that I washed mine, and it started making this loud beeping sound that wouldn't stop. I took my seat off left it in the sun to dry out cause someone told me its common just dry it out. Now when you hit the pedal it does nothing. When you put it in reverse it doesn't make that annoying warning beep, but the lights will come on, and my battery is fully charged. If you got any ideas I appreciate it in advance.

    Great job on your videos. I have a question for you about my 2007 ezgo txt gas. I replaced lots of parts ,full tune up with new belts and battery now the motor runs solid. Only problem I still have is it moves slowly then picks up speed (17 mph). After I stop it goes slowly and slowly picks up a little speed at a time. Do you have any advice for me? Thanks in advance.

    • @Kevinsgolfcarts
      @Kevinsgolfcarts  2 года назад

      Make sure your brake pedal isn't hanging and the brakes are dragging. You may have a bad throttle cable that's sticking not allowing the throttle to move smoothly. You could have some debris in the carburetor partially blocking a jet. Is it lifted? If it is, that has changed the geometry of the drivetrain and you lost a lot of torque. It could be any number of things so without really seeing it, I can't really narrow it down.

    Love all the videos! I’ve got an 03 gas ezgo txt that runs continuously for 5-10 minutes and then once I stop for a second and go again the engine loses all power and barely revs up when In gear. I have to wait till the engine cools down for 10-15 minutes till it runs normally. Ive dialed in the lash. Carb has been adjusted a few times with same results. Coil replaced and tested. Spark plugs replaced and tested. It just overheats after 5-10 minutes of stop and go use. Are gas golf carts designed for continuous use? Just very desperate for any suggestions. Thanks!

    • @Kevinsgolfcarts
      @Kevinsgolfcarts  3 года назад +2

      I would double check your valve lash on a COLD engine. Make sure its set at .004". As for the carb, there really isn't anything to adjust that would affect running. I'm thinking CDI is failing. If you replaced the coil, it will be aftermarket and those are terrible. Unfortunately, there aren't any OEM available. EZGO still sells the CDI for these but, its nearly $400. Be sure to use NGK spark plugs, NGK FR2BD. You will need to check and see if you are actually losing spark when it "overheats". If you still have spark, then your issues is fuel delivery or valves. You need to do a compression test hot and cold to see if you have a loss of compression.

      I had same problems with my older yamaha I just bought wouldn't idle or run smooth at low speed but would take off and go if you kept the pedal down. It was the gas pedal switch it had 2 wires I connected the 2 with a short jumper wire and now it runs and drives great. So I can either replace it or leave it as it is and start it and shut it off with the key. The switch is located under the floor pan at the pedal. Hope this helps

Bob

    • @Kevinsgolfcarts
      @Kevinsgolfcarts  3 года назад

      I'm glad you are enjoying my videos! A lot of work goes into making them. No, you don't need the lights connected for anything else to work. Be sure that you have the polarity correct. The back cable goes to positive (+), the bare, braided cable goes to Negative (-). There is a master fuse under the black cover next to the battery. Its possible its blown. If the battery goes dead, you probably have a bad voltage regulator, located in the same location.

  • @bertramlrezenet9311
    @bertramlrezenet9311 4 месяца назад

    The fact that you verified the corrosion issue with the cable connectors, it means that the battery was more than likely undercharged. You checked charging voltage and it was ok. Before you performed a load test on the battery, it should've been charged. That's the reason the tester rendered the battery bad. It was undercharged due to the corrosion at the cable connectors. You could've verified the condition of the battery by cranking the engine for 15 - 30 seconds with the coil disconnect and checked the cranking voltage. Minimum cranking voltage is 9.6 vts.

      EZGos with the 2 cylinder Robin have electronic ignition. When you let off the pedal, it cuts power to the ignition and start circuits. Most other carts have magneto ignition and have a kill circuit built into the pedal switch or a relay.

    Hi, I see that you recommend that the valve lash is 004 I have also read online that it should be 004. I am in the UK and I was told buy a guy that repairs them here that he recommends that I set it to 008 because of the environment. What do you think of this?

    • @Kevinsgolfcarts
      @Kevinsgolfcarts  3 года назад

      That seems a bit too much. I'd run with .004 inches (not mm) and see how it runs. If you are having loss of power and/or starting issues, creep up to .006". Get yourself a compression tester so you can verify that this is your issue before you start chasing an issue that you may not have.

      You might have killed the CDI. Those are very sensitive to shorts. Typically people kill then when they hook the battery up backwards. Since you did a rebuild, I would check the clearance on the pickup coil on the flywheel. That thing needs to be just barely scraping the flywheel to work properly. I had a few older carts come in that had that same issue until I moved the pickup coil closed to the flywheel.

    • @Kevinsgolfcarts
      @Kevinsgolfcarts  2 года назад

      That's going to depend on how your setup is. Are you using the standard starter/generator with a custom clutch? Are you using the electric starter that comes on the engine? If you are using the starter on the engine, you cannot use the pedal to start the engine. This will keep the starter running the entire time the pedal is depressed and will destroy the starter. This is like turning the key in your car and holding it in start mode while driving. You need to wire it to a push button or key switch.
