I like to think of the ROF Arc similarly as the Buu Arc, It wasn't the best, it made a lot of questionable choices, but it had some epic moments that made it worth while
No epic moments besides maybe Vegeta vs Freeza.

1:08:33 Not only that, but the only way that you suppose to be able to kill Piccolo is to destroy his head, his happen at one point in the Buu arc if im not wrong, because remember that Dabura turn Piccolo in a stone, Trunks destroyed his body, but his head was intact... Yet here his head is perfectly healthy and he dies... What the f*ck???
What I did like:
1)Piccolo dying was key. It was important enough to show that this was a high-stakes situation for the gang.
2)This whole event forced Gohan to want to train again.
3)Krillin's fear was completely justified and great.
4)Tagoma gaining strength through being Frieza's sparring partner was awesome and added answers.
5)Ginyu was kinda a nice touch and a cool throwback.
6)The fight between Goku and Frieza felt more intense this time around.
7)Beerus making it very clear that he would not interfere also kept the tension strong.
8)Frieza's fear when he saw Whis and Beerus was greater.
9)Beerus and Whis stopping to see Champa and Vados on the way added exposition and character development.
10)The Earth blowing up was intense and better graphically, less CGI.
11)Trunks and Goten getting in on the action and Frieza remembering Future Trunks.
12)Trunks' reference about slicing Frieza in half.
13)The battle between Goku and Frieza was clean and reminiscent of Namek.
14)Shisami dying quickly was good because in the movie he should not have been stronger than them. The arc gave a reason why Tagoma was strong.
15)The dragon actually explained why it had gives two/three wishes. Plus, it actually had been over 18 months until Goku arrived with Whis to Beerus' Planet. Frieza's invasion was around 22 months after Beerus vs. SSJG Goku.
What I didn't like:
1)Wished Vegeta's fight with Frieza's was longer.
2)The Pilaf Gang being children ... they were used well though.
3)Vegeta not getting the kill, which would have been poetic.
Overall, this arc made a lot of sense. Frieza came back to Earth and was murdered by a random idiot with purple hair (in his view). This would only make his hatred much stronger. His character development was never finished with Goku and Vegeta.
Vegeta was beamed to Earth before he could finish off Frieza on Namek. Naturally, he never would forget this, not only because Goku beat him, but this man owned him as propety basically. Vegeta would want a chance to see him again and kill him. This part of his character wasn't completed. We have clearly seen him get softer and change, but he showed no mercy here, which was necessary. Frieza was Goku's first big fight besides the Vegeta Saga (and as he says potential rival if he weren't evil). This final bout against the last two saiyans was key and not only amazing, but tied together loose character underdevelopments.
The one thing I wish they would've kept from the movie was the Freeza "all hail Vegeta Prince of no one" then add the beating from Super. That was such an amazing line

The wish of reviving Freeza was probably one year after summoning Shenlong in BoGs. We know that after BoGs there was a gap until Satan's press conference and that Whis was trying out food with Bulma for some time - enough time for Vegeta to make a noticeable difference in his power level. Then we see Vegeta going to train with Whis alone and Goku learns about it over 6 months later (directly stated). Besides Pan was born and at that episode she was already at least one month old while in BoGs Videl was only 1-2 months pregnant (no signs of pregnant tummy) meaning that between BoGs and the start of episode 17 at least 8 months had passed. Then Goku waits for around one month until Whis comes to Earth again. Then some more time passes (likely another month) with Goku and Vegeta training and THEN we see the first appearance of Sorbet. And THEN we don't know how much time had passed for them to travel to Earth with their spaceship. All in all the passage of time between BoGs and the wish to revive Frreza is adding up to year. But even if for the sake of argument say it was just 8 months after BoGs it was still only one wish that was granted in BoGs. Dende in the Buu arc (when Bulma wished for Vegeta's victims back) said that if they didn't make another wish they would be able to wish again after 4 months (as it is 12 months to restore 3 wishes, hence 4 months after one wish) and though we don't know whether they could wish 3 wishes or just the remaining 2 it is certain that if only 1 wish had been made the full 3 wishes capacity should be restored after 8months.

the rando fight from yu yu hakusho is one of the few times speaking and in particular the hearing of the chant makes sense but if the body change is a chant combined with a specific exertion of energy to make it occur its not important who says it but that it is heard by the person ginyu wants to change with. in tagoma saying it he also hears it. which makes the opening for the technique to work.

Yeah. That right there is one of my favorite moments in DB history.
The training does make some sense. If Tagoma's race gets something like a zenkai boost (which could very well be the reason why Frieza chose him) the first part of Frieza's training wouldve probably been to toughen up Tagoma. Gently knocking him around like a cat playing with yarn, careful to only almost kill him each time and then using his technology to turn months of recovery time into hours. If you got a damn zenkai boost every damn day you would become a worthy opponent pretty quick, i bet. Not TOO worthy, of course, which I am absolutely sure Frieza was keeping an eye on at all times.

In terms of the training of Freeza the only hope I had was that Champa would reveal it in Universe 6 but now I doubt they will.

One way I look at Frieza having such a huge power jump is this. Maybe since he has never trained before, he was able to unlock his hidden potential. Similar to how Elder Kai unlocked Gohan's potential, but not quite the same. Unlike how Gohan's super saiyan forms become pointless, Frieza's hidden potential unlocked his golden form. I don't know, just my own head cannon.

Don't mind Zeon but the way he rants on and on kinda killed it in this video, a more balanced talk time for everyone would of helped the format of this talk.

I still don't understand how the dragon can grant 3 wishes. I guess I missed something because as I remembered it Dende's dragon was going to grant 3 wishes like the Namek dragon balls but they were worried about its wishing power as it's not the original dragon so he made it with 2 wishes. This was back during the Cell games arc. So then when we get to the Majin Buu arc the dragon can STILL grant 2 wishes but we learn that if it only grants 1 wish then it can be summoned in 6 months to grant the next wish. So at what point did the dragon gain the ability to grant 3 wishes?!? It could only grant 2 in the Resurrection F movie as well.

The only moments I really liked about the arc was that Frieza was being all sadistic as he should be. Laughing about how he wonders how Goku would react with both his sons being dead after being tortured.
I sweat that choreography in the movie was SO DAMN AMAZING

If I could say something about golden frieza it would be that he was brought back because of his popularity with the Z fandom and it wouldn’t make sense for him to just blow up into his gold form while training with tagoma because his character would want to show it off as he did by destroying his 1000 soldiers when revealing it to Goku. He also referred to Tagoma as his ‘precious training partner’ which was why he couldn’t just destroy Tagoma and blow the transformation out his ass. I actually thought the golden form has helped his character significantly especially when you realise how quickly frieza can get a new form when he tries a little.
Fun Fact: MozillaVulpix publically predicted what Toei was planning to do with Gohan's character in Super, before anyone else (at least that I know of).
I think there's multiple hells because I recall Frieza pointing out in the movie that he was sent to Earth's hell.

The hell where we see Freeza in Super could perfectly be a different part/layer of hell as it was shown in GT. There is still a huge inconsistency though as in the anime in the Buu arc (in both Z and Kai) Freeza was shown in hell watching the fight of kid Buu versus SSJ3 Goku while in Super he was unaware about it and is being informed for first time by Sorbet. Also when he was shown in hell in Z/Kai he was in his organic form. How did he revert to his mecha form later inside the cocoon? So yeah the Freeza hell scene is inconsistent with the anime continuity, not because of how hell's background looks like but because it ignores certain events that happened in the anime continuity.

18:01 I don't understand what you mean by the plothole of the wishes, if i remember right, in the Manga, Dende tried to give 3 wishes to the Earh Dragon while being able to revive multiple people, but because he didn't had enough power, he could only give it 2 wish and still keep the power of revive multiple people, and that if you ask one wish and left the other one alone, you have to wait some month(i don't remember the exact number but i think that it was 6), before being able to use the other one. On the other hand, the Namek Dragon was upgraded from having 3 wishes and not being able to revive multiple people, to having 3 wishes and being able to revive multiple people... Really i don't remember in the Manga ever being mention by Earth's Shenlong that he can granted 3 wishes, until this arc in Super, which i count as plothole number 1.

I mean, Dragon Ball Super isn't the first Dragon Ball thing that's cannon to ret-con stuff. Remember when the afterimage couldn't move, but then it does against Cell? Or how about that you had to preserve someone's body in order to bring them back to life, yet Chaiotzu (probably spelled that wrong, forgive me, it's 11 55 PM) literally obliterated himself against Nappa?
I would watch the BOG movie up to Goku getting the Earth, then I would go watch the anime. I would just watch the FNF arc (Except for Goku getting lasered and Vegeta vs Freeza)
Here is how I think the saga should have been
Episode 15-19 are the same.
*Prelude to the fight*
IMO the prelude to the fight episodes for fine, but I think the training for Freeza should be included
20. This is a training episode for Freeza and Goku, showing ridiculous feats and stuff. This is to show how strong they get. Near the end it foreshadows Freeza’s Golden Form
21. This is like Episode 20, but there is Exposition for Jaco
*Z-Fighters vs Freeza’s Troops*
This was a mess of potential, the fight against Freeza’s Fodder vs the Z-Fighters was downright inferior. To fix this, just put an episode exactly like the Movie. And for Tagoma, I would make him last longer. He also is not as fodderized as quickly. Gohan is more utilized also
22. This is the fight against Freeza’s soldiers, pretty much identical to the movie and not the show
23. Shizami vs Piccolo, it is explained that Shizami is not strong but is durable as heck. Tagoma’s power is introduced and kills Shizami.
24. Tagoma is portrayed as more of a badass, and he is stomping the Z-Fighters. Gotenks vs Tagoma happens and it is a real fight, Tagoma almost loses but Gotenks defuses. Freeza notices Goten’s and Trunk’s appearance and tries to kill them.
25. Ginyu body switches with Tagoma and his portrayed to be stronger, he is similar in power to SSJ Gohan and actually has the edge. Freeza has enough of this and is about to kill Gohan, when Piccolo sacrificed himself to save Gohan
26. Gohan gets angry and goes SSJ2, he quickly charges and kills Tagoma-Ginyu. He fights Freeza and actually pushes him back for a second, Freeza gets serious and quickly makes quick work of Gohan. Freeza starts torturing Gohan when Goku comes in and saves Gohan.
*Goku vs Freeza*
The problem here is that they did not try to do anything new or big. With the Battle of Gods arc, it was boring and bad at the beginning because it was just a repeat of the original. But when the fight happened, people loved it because it was a good and large scale fight with character development. With what we have for the original source material, I think the fight cannot necessarily be as good as how the BoG fight was portrayed. But I think if it deviated in appearance/variety a bit more it would have been at least good.
27. Base Goku vs Freeza fight, this battle is like the one in the show except it is better choreographed. At the end Goku goes SSJB and Freeza becomes his Golden Form.
28. Goku and Freeza shortly takes place on the area they are at, but they then take it to space and are fighting all across the solar system (Maybe even galaxy?) at fasts speeds. Goku gets beat down and is punched back to Earth
29. The fight is going into Freeza’s favor when his weakness is revealed. Then he gets beaten down. Goku is winning and goes to his base form, he gets shot by Sorbet, but instead of dropping down in pain. He looks back laughing at Sorbet that he thinks such a laser would hurt him when he gets death beamed by Freeza
30. This is pretty much the same as episode 27, the only difference. Is that Freeza does not blow Earth, that has been old and not impressive since the *BEGINNING* of DBZ, and it would be more unique to see something him destroy something bigger. He destroys the whole universe instead. Here it shows what the characters from New Namek, the Check-In Station, Kaioshin Realm, and King Kai’s planet are also doing right before it blows up. Whis time reverses and the rest is like episode 27.

What I'm going to do is buy the blu-rays and along with the movies do my own version of it. I'll edit the new bits of "Super" with the movies and at the end of Resurrection of F just edit Episode 27 there.

No explanation for the difference in Hell between super and Z is required because it is obvious why. Frieza is evil, and the worst place possible for him to be was the special little Hell which was designed just for him.

You know, thinking about it I'm bothered by Majin Buu dying in the Earth explosion bothers me. Buu can easily regenerate from planetary explosions so why did he die? Everyone else I can understand because they can't survive in space, but Majin Buu?
you could probably take the whole movie and then add in like 20 minutes of the anime and get a much better overall viewing experience
