It was for the best. They all had some mad burnout, and being creative with that kind of literary handicap can be detrimental to the story being written as well as the writer's creative freedom. It was neat that we got the Buu shorts, but I don't think we'll ever get a Season 4, which is for the best.
That scene with Cell bickering with Tom and Sally was just hilarious. Cell being all like "We could be perfect" made it seem like he was trying to win his girl back. Poor Tom didn't deserve to be blown up when he was just trying to help.
I like the SSJ form Trunks has because it's like Broly has the original gene pool that allows him to be the Legendary SSJ and all the other saiyans are like trying to emulate that power but it's always imperfect. This form trying to emulate Broly's immense physical power but at the cost of speed and fine motor skills. Like each form of SSJ might one day have stengths and weaknesses rather than each just being more optimal than the last.
This is also amplified by the existence of Super Saiyan 3, because it takes a huge physical toll on the body and results in a power cap that can't be broken unless you don't have a body to take the blow (Fusion Reborn moment).
I am so happy with the results and quality of the work. I die a little inside from laughing every time I watch it. And the effort with the Android 16 back story is a real treat. Hands down best videos ever!
It's weird, but it's likely that they just assumed Trunks looked up to Gohan and was great friends to him in that timeline, and Cell is trying to use that to get in his head.

I like the SSJ form Trunks has because it's like Broly has the original gene pool that allows him to be the Legendary SSJ and all the other saiyans are like trying to emulate that power but it's always imperfect. This form trying to emulate Broly's immense physical power but at the cost of speed and fine motor skills. Like each form of SSJ might one day have stengths and weaknesses rather than each just being more optimal than the last.
This is also amplified by the existence of Super Saiyan 3, because it takes a huge physical toll on the body and results in a power cap that can't be broken unless you don't have a body to take the blow (Fusion Reborn moment).

It's weird, but it's likely that they just assumed Trunks looked up to Gohan and was great friends to him in that timeline, and Cell is trying to use that to get in his head.
