One of my favorite TFS small jokes is when Goku is going through his list of potential culprits and suddenly gets all serious when he mentions "that monster Pilaf" - the idea that even after fighting someone like Frieza he still thinks Pilaf is the absolute worst is too good
They talked about this actually in their commentary. Kaiser said something along the lines of
"He was the first "bad guy" Goku faced, and since he (Goku) never saw him reform, Goku would assume hes pure evil"
He even mentions Tien who is like one of his besties now lol

it fits until the point Goku and Gohan reverted from always staying super saiyan for some reason.
It works perfectly fine in TFS, cause rather than staying in it for training, they just forgot how to turn it off.
I wouldnt say this movie was canon, main reason being Broly is obviously stronger than Cell yet they all combine powers to kill him. They didnt do this with cell because....? Moreover the inconsistency with the power levels, all the sayians/half sayians should of had a major power boost from this battle.. yet? Nah. Movie universe is different from the from the main series.

I just realized jokes aside Vegita is the last true saiyan after this movie (canon but also Nappa died having a stroke in TFS), he's the only one who remembers their planet, his father,the king, Turles, and even Goku and Raditz's dad (leader of the rebellion against freeza). His pride in his Saiyan heritage does lake a lot of sense

I lost it at the SFX when Piccolo and Goku is "hitting" Broly 😂
The whole “Broly being motivated to kill Goku because he cried as in infant”, thing sounds like a plot point that TFS would add for more comedy; and the fact that it’s not is one of the best things about this story.
Broly's origin here is either a moment of "Truth is stranger than fiction," or "it's funny because it's true." Maybe a bit of both.
Honestly I think it's because he was unstable from the get-go; disregard the murder attempt and everything, he'd fixate on one of few interactions he had and tie it to literally every other tragedy in his life.
The sad truth, this was his literal motivation from the original Broly movie

I know it's been ages and they probably mentioned this in the dev commentary but the detail of Chi Chi wanting a divorce and Goku replying with "me too I'm starving" is a perfect callback to when she asked Goku in marriage and he said yes because he thought it was food
