    I've recently learned a new way to test foundation on oily skin types.
    You do your cleanser and then go in with a hydrating toner or refreshing Mist and then add a serum to prep the skin and sit and let dry, when dry spray the face with your setting spray that's for your oily skin and here's the kicker, don't add a moisturiser. Just hydrate with the hydrating spray and serum to prep the skin as moisturiser can make the skin too slippery for foundation to adhere to.
    Also, we want to prevent the oils coming from under the foundation and setting spray is to keep oils at bay while setting makeup, so it makes sense to use it BEFORE the foundation, to stop the oils and then at the end of the makeup application process too.
    I've tried it over here in Australia with oily skin in the heat and sometimes humidity, and it works, and my skin is fine - yes, it's sensitive and acne prone, too, with roseacea.

    The only fantastic drugstore foundation I have found that I still love and use is the Wet n Wild Tinted Moisturizer. Still fun to test out new foundations of course but that little $5 tube is literally the best! And I have oily dehydrated acne prone skin along with redness and sensitivity. Enjoyed seeing the wear test! I find when foundations are too light it's like highlighing my entire face so that probably contributed to it looking dry and emphasizing pores etc 🥰

    • @beachfrost3367
      @beachfrost3367 Год назад +1

      Does the wet n wild tinted moisturizer have much coverage? Will it blur large pores? My favorite tinted moisturizer is the Nars tinted moisturizer. It has a hefty price tag but boy is it a good one. I have about 30 foundations but always go back to it. Such a beautiful dewy glow and it's got spf. Funny because I went to the ocean and got totally sun burned but my face was the only part that was unscathed🤣🤣 From the spf in the Nars!! I do want to try the Wet n Wild one though so was just curious about the coverage. Thanks!!

    • @DanielleNicoleMakeup
      @DanielleNicoleMakeup Год назад +3

      @@beachfrost3367 oh my gosh, isn't that funny! The WnW does not have SPF, but the coverage is great imo (light-medium and builds well). I can't remember if I reviewed this one on its own but I've used it in tons of videos. It is one of my favorites even out of my high end foundations. The shade range needs work but I love it! I have pores, dehydrated and oily skin as well as acne/scaring etc. Everytime I use it I am always happy I do. I heard the Nars is great too!

    I’m 66 with dry, mature skin and I actually liked this. Of course I used a very very emollient moisturizer under it and I found it to have a nice satin finish. The only thing I am not sure of is a possible sensitivity to it. It looks great on you! Have you tried using a dewy or illuminating setting spray with it? Wondering if that would help the initial look but not mess with the end-of-day look for you. 🤔
    Thanks for the review! As always, I appreciate you and you content! 💜

    As many have suggested go with a darker shade. This one made you look ghostly and showed lines I've never seen before ☹ Also, since you don't have large pores anywhere else but your nose I'd suggest using a true pore filling primer. I keep suggesting the Caliray primer but you haven't tried it as of yet. It's great for oily gals and guys. You'd really only need to use it on your nose then use the leftover on the rest of your face. I lol'd at your reaction to the instructions saying to use a sponge. At least this time around they weren't trying to sell you a tool, right?

  • @mandyratliff6285

    I'm 50 years old and have used this foundation off and on for years. I liked the old formula and I like the new one just as much, maybe even a little more. I have some fine lines and wrinkles, though less than you might think for being 50. I also have extremely oily skin. This fountain holds up well under my oils and doesn't do a lot of settling into lines or creasing. I use a much thinner layer then you used in the video and it looks way better than a thicker layer on my mature skin. I also work in a hospital and wear a mask all day. It does rub off a little on the mask. It isn't perfect by any means but still manages to look okay at the end of the day. I do try new things periodically but this is my favorite foundation and I always come back to it eventually.

    This foundation goes from looking desert dry to an instant oil slick on me in about 2-3 hours. And it gathers in smile lines and around my nose. Not my favorite for sure. Not terrible but most definitely not anywhere as great as the L’Oréal serum foundation, that one is amazing and I have super oily skin.

    Most of my foundations look great on top of minimal skin prep (just a hydrating toner spray or hydrating sunscreen). Except the Huda luminous matte. That foundation needs an emollient base to buff into, like Fenty Hydrovisor spf 30. I have to apply very little of it and buff it out into a thin layer. Maybe this needs that treatment. Something to try.

    I really think you should consider using concealer under your eyes or atleast taking your foundation over your eye area. I think it truly would make a big difference to the overall look. Also can you "TRY" to use less product and get a shade you may even consider too dark? I would love to see it. All your reviews for the majority seem like the shade is noticeably too light

    I honestly don't understand why very dark skin tones need more shades. I guess my reason or what im sure developers assume is that foundation is to help cover up discolorations, redness, and uneven skin. This is something more noticeable on a lighter skin tone, and every time i see foundation sales its always the darker shades bc not as many people buy them. so i assume that is why it is marketed this way
