I would have blotted then added some of the powder if it was me. I'm oily and that's my method to ensure I don't get cakey from the powder and face oils interacting. Would love more powder foundation reviews please. Thanks 💜🖤💜🖤
As with any powder foundation if you want more coverage then skip the brush application and just start with the buff applicator and don’t press it on but just blend it as you would a liquid. If you really like the blurring effect then use a lighter coverage foundation and either apply one layer of this powder before or after the lighter coverage liquid foundation.
Can you give us a “best and worst” of concealers video, pretty please? I notice you have a few go-tos and as someone with acne prone skin, would love if your recommendations for products for different skin needs/things to conceal was in one video. 🙏🏻
when I saw the thumbnail I was shocked! like Cassie is actually trying a foundation that I already have and even used twice!! what?! I got to say I LOVE this powder foundation, I wore it at a comic con where I live where it's very humid. My face got oily for sure but it held up very well compared to how sweaty I was and how humid that day was. My forhead gets dry and most of the liquid foundations I have look cakey in that area but this " powder " foundation didn't, which was weird in a good way. I really like it and can't wait to wear it during the colder months
Welp.. Essence has some if THE best mascaras. Lash Princess is my fave. Have a mattifying powder that's awesome. Also a product for instantly drying nail polish. 👍
I actually did hear about this from someone on TikTok. I’m pretty sure the way they used it was to blot it on after foundation to blur where they had larger pores, and they loved it for that. I’ve had it in my wishlist since then but haven’t tried it. I thought it looked great you.

I think I’ll give it a try. Tip though - if you do reapply powder, do use blotting papers first. Mixing powder with oils definitely cakes it up. I use powder foundation on top of liquid foundation, cause I have oily skin that needs coverage, I blot first and then reply a bit of powder on top, it doesn’t cake at all.
I use powder foundation everyday. Doesnt worsen my acne unlike most liquid & cream foundations. Skin prep and application is everything. Lets see how you do 🙂
I freaking love this powder. It is amazing 👏 I reviewed it a while ago and it's my favorite powder foundation even out of high end. I sometimes pair it with the Danessa Myricks blur balm. Excited to hear if it works as well for you!
Ohhh I was just looking at that blur balm! Why skin type do you have? I'm dry, so balm sounds like it would be delightful. But I'm a little hesitant if it feels heavy??

lol I'm definitely picky, yes, it' just because there are SO many foundations/powders/bb creams/tinted moisturizers/etc. on the market! We've got the ability to be picky if you ask me 😂 This powder wasn't perfect but if you do try it then I hope you enjoy it!

I have horrible oily skin and after a few hours it becomes a grease pit. I got the elf oil control primer spray and it’s been a freakin miracle!! I’ve been using it and then the Laura Geller baked foundation powder and I’m still matte and not greasy at all by the end of the day, I swear it’s magical!! Like I’ve never had this happen with any other primer at all.
@iChristy I’m similar around the t-zone! Do you know what the name of the Laura Geller bakes foundation powder is called? Or does she only have one in her line? Curious to try it!!
And now Ulta has all Essence 30% off! It appears less really IS more with this foundation. I like it. The coverage is not to the level of the elf powder foundation but the Essence has a slight bit more product at almost half the price of the elf!
You should try pressing it in with a dry beauty blender. Rather than getting additional product, see if whatever is left on your skin will allow you to matte… mattify? Make the skin matte again in the T Zone. I would be curious.
Have you ever tried JCat Beauty powder foundation? It’s my favorite! Shade range is atrocious but if you are lucky tj find a shade it’s a fabulous imo.
Jae Tip: I’m super oily too and especially in the winter working in a super dry warehouse, the back of my hands get so dry and started to crack and hurt. So I just use the back of my hands to blot the oils on my face and used it as a moisturizer for my hands. It worked pretty good for me. I’ve been doing it ever since! Saves on blotting paper for me. :)
That shade range sucks but the shade you picked was perfect for you. When you showed the tiles that's the one I would have picked for myself which would have been a Huge mistake. I honestly don't know which one would work for me now 😕 I thought it looked great on day 1. Once your oils came through it even looked better. Day 2 and 3? Day 2 would have been fine had you just used the same amount on day 1 but 3? That's a double no. It just didn't look as natural on first application like it did on day 1. Then when you used it to touch up that's when I could completely see the cakeyness. At least you can use it for those light coverage days. As always. Love the close up reviews. That's just not done by many on any platform these days... 👍

I would suggest a primer serum. I swear by the WetnWild purple pore refining primer serum, but I use it with my L'Oreal infallible powder foundation. I use an elf kabuki brush first before building it up with the sponge, and then lightly buff it out again with the Kabuki mostly around my mouth creases. Then I set it(with water); it's what works.🤷🏻♀️👌🏻 But, yes, it depends on the type of primer ultimately with any powder foundation.
I bought this foundation maybe a week after your video was released, and I have already hit pan on it! For some reason the first week my skin was like, NOPE...so I was kinda bummed. I guess my skin was in a weird funk that week because I tried it again maybe a week later and all was good. I don't use a primer, but I do use a setting spray!
I just tried this yesterday, I think it looked really nice for the first hour or so but I’m guessing my sunscreen made it oil up real fast and it creased in my smile line

My biggest annoyance with makeup is that everything is always transferring onto to my hands (I am awful with touching my face ..or like resting my face on my hand at work ..or like massaging my jaw/sinuses because of migraines..) I need to find this. Edit: Ohh also, anyone try this with setting spray to take the powderyness away?? AND I love that purlisse bb cream. My mom got it in a subscription box but it was too light for her(bit light for me but I can make it work in winter) and I can't even buy it in canada! Any Canadians know where to get it?!
they need to try and see if people like it first. they track what shades are purchased more often. this is why most companies started with limited shades especially if their sales are not as large. why waste money and resources on a product that may not sell well.

The shade range is just pathetic. The product looked better after your natural oils mixed with it. The initial application looked to powdery. I have that problem with this type of product too.

Their waterproof liquid eyeliner is my go to for everyday work looks.
