I can’t wait to live in a world where “hydrating” makeup means it actually hydrates the skin instead of one where “hydrating” means “we add sparkles to make your skin look shiny as the foundation sucks every drop of moisture out of it”
That’s why I like the Maybelline Dream Radiant Liquid. It’s received pretty mixed reviews but it’s worked great on my skin and I’ve been using it for almost 3 years now. I get eczema on my forehead and around my mouth and this foundation is actually really hydrating. If it wasn’t, my skin would definitely let me know lol. Yeah it has some glowy-ness to it but my skin feels so smooth even after I’ve taken it off and I feel like it helped to improved the overall look of my skin.
The only downside to some is that it’s light coverage, but I personally only use light coverage just to add a bit of glow to my skin and cut down on some of the redness. It’s buildable, but too much can make your face a bit oily. This channel actually turned me onto it 😅
On his site he shows how to use it, with less product. I wonder if that would help with the con of it being heavy or cakey? Once I stopped slathering on a ton of product (thank you Robert Welsh) & allowed foundation to dry, I found a lot more success. & if anyone ever created a foundation that doesn't come off the nose they could have one of my kidneys.
Try eye primer on your nose to help it prevent wearing off
@@everogersdownunder1242 oh that's a great tip! Thank you!
I think Estée Lauder has pretty good staying power on the nose as long as you use minimal product and if you wear glasses kinda put a tiny bit where they sit in the nose otherwise itll rub off on the glasses.
I think it’s been said, but I think you could use a lot less. I understand feeling self conscious about your skin cause we all do it, just don’t think the layering is necessary or even the amt you use upon first application. Just my two cents anyways.
Also would love to see you tackle the underpainting that’s come back around in the makeup world, just for fun and something different.
Could be that she goes heavier on the application out of habit, could also be because it's easier to pick up on camera that way. It's also a good way to show the full potential of the foundation and its coverage (which I think is more so the point). If she always applied her foundation with a light hand, people who like a heavier application would never get to see how full coverage the makeup could be. I think an interesting balance would be to maybe do a sheer application day on one of her test days
@@lunakitty1613 yea I can agree with that. Apply how you normally would but also heavier or lighter. I still think overall if that is typical application, a lighter hand would be better.
It also depends on what level of coverage you want and that coverage levels are subjective, as Cassie states when saying she popped on a lighter layer.
I do my foundation in a similar fashion. I personally don't like it too light or sheer, as I've loads of serious redness all over my face.
She's not as full coverage as say Nikki Tutorials or Meredith LOL.
And I'm not having a go here. As I know Mario says to build it a little and it's not meant to be high coverage but more medium.
But at least this shows those who like/need fuller to high coverage how it operates 😉😁
Hi Cassie, I was curious I know that you do try to layer products because it says it can and I was wondering if when you do a trial if you could try a day why a single layer. I like my coverage as thin as possible because I think over an entire day, it affects how it looks on my face the difference between looking slightly shiny at the day versus a swap moose because I have natural oils too. Thanks lady!!!
Hi Cassie. You were the very first channel for makeup I started watching a few yrs ago and ur still my favorite. Ur such a beauty. I always love to see the looks u come up with. Ur eye looks are always so gorgeous. I wish I could make my eyeshadow look like urs
Try eye primer on your nose or any area your foundation has trouble sticking. Trust me. Eye primer is a game changer when you use it on your nose, for example, to grip that foundation and help it look a bit more seamless.
Sigma eye primer is great
OOO that's such a great idea! I tend to not use as much foundation anymore over all and use like the lightest touch cos it does tend to fall apart there first, but I may try this!
@TaraOComics Sigma Eye Primer is a great one and has a slight Tint also so if it comes off a little regardless the Tint in the primer will help it look like product is still there
Hope it helps xx
Yes! I learned that trick from Robert Welsh and it made such a difference! My foundation used to sit so weird on my nose and would always rub right off, but since using an eye primer, it stays put and looks perfect.
Damn son. Thanks for the idea
FYI - so ppl know.
The shade range covers many shades.
Each shade is flexible over 3 to 4 shades.
Please be aware of this when choosing your shade and buying.
As long as you’re not ghostly pale or the colour of beautiful melted chocolate
Oooft, the palest shade they do looks like it'd be about three shades too dark for me, ahaha! Foundation has become my new favourite product to test- I bought the luminous foundation from ABH and was heckin' disappointed- I'm dry skinned and it just dries right out. Might be better for any oily skinned folks, as it does seem to have staying power. I mix it with the Glossier Futuredew and that makes it work better for me, but I'm going to bloody well finish it, even if I have to cover my legs in foundation! 🤣
I feel you, i did not like the ABH foundation at all. Have you tried the Makeup Forever Reboot foundation? That one is wonderful on my skin
“Waterproof my butt” 🤣🤣 I laughed out loud- hard lol
Pershonally, I think it looks great on you 😁
Mario has done a full review in daylight, outside on his balcony to show "normal" skin and applies the foundation with his brush and shows what it looks like without studio lighting and also any filters etc.
The foundation also has MICA in it. Its not sparkles but MICA. If you don't know what MICA is. Look it up. 😁😁
Mica gives beautiful effects. Great for art applications too!
Mica IS shimmer/sparkle, that's why it's used in highlighters and shimmery eyeshadows. lol did you look it up? It's pretty easy to find with a quick google search.
@lunakitty1613 I work in the industry and know what MICA is.
Ppl having been saying its glitter and I've said it's not glitter.
It's also not shimmer in the way ppl think of shimmers in an eye shadow etc.
That's what I was getting at.
Personally, as I've said on here today, I don't like MICA at all.
@@lunakitty1613 I also said it's not sparkles.... never said shimmer
@@lunakitty1613 see my comment below where I state there's mica in it and I don't like mica
You look really nice with the red shade of lipstick at the end!
I actually like that it’s a bit on the warmer side for you. It looks really good and gives you some life opposed to something completely “cool toned”
Try using eye primer on your nose before foundation, it helps a lot if you have problems with foundation wearing off.
YES! I've said this also!
She actually did try that out a couple years ago as part of her “Hack or Hoax” series! 😊 it’s been awhile tho so maybe it’s time for a retry.
@Aavi Blackwood I know for a fact the Sigma eye primer works for this.
So I agree. Maybe a retry might be in order. 😁😉
I really appreciate your reviews - showing your skin/foundation up close and also trying the foundation in different ways (application, with/without primer etc…). Thank you for your reviews!!! They’re extremely helpful!
Cassie please give the Caliray face primer a try. Other than your nose pores you really don't have large pores and even those aren't that large but I do believe that primer will help with what pores you do have as well as the longevity of the foundation. I know I've asked before but I'm just putting it out there again as a reminder... 😉
I like this foundation but I do have very dry skin. I find it wears as well as my Charlotte Tilbury Beautiful Skin foundation, Estée Lauder Futurist foundation, Haus Labs Triclone and Rose Inc serum foundation. I do use a light hand with all foundations. I tent to be a “less is more” girl when it comes to foundation application.
I would really love it if you reviewed/ tested two products that I have been using to control my oils. The Ilia soft focus finishing powder and Charlotte Tilbury air brush flawless setting spray. These two products have been a game changer for my oily skin.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE YOUR REVIEWS, they're realistic and I can find answers like REAL answers to my questions about these foundations when I watch your reviews because your skin is similar to mine and since I can't afford all these foundations I can come to this safe place and see what's better for my skin! thank you so much 🥺✨️💛
I appreciate your foundation reviews and wear tests. A lot of effort and dedication.
I think you should really try Korean makeup, it’s meant for pale pink skin ❤
I used to LOVE the Lioele - Dollish Cera-V CC Cream (maybe Japanese?) but I think that's been discontinued :(
Could you review the reformulated loreal true match? I love your videos Cassie!❤❤
thank you so much Mahala!! And yes, it's in my lineup of foundations to try so I should have a review of it up on my channel within the next couple/few weeks 😊
@@thriftthick Awesome!! I love your foundation reviews! They are so helpful!
Hi Cassie! Have you tried the L’Oréal True Match Nude Serum Foundation? It’s been my ride or die for oily skin for about 2 years now. Tried other foundations after it ran out then regretted my choices and got another bottle in the end 😆
Do you still blot during your wear tests?
What are your favorite foundations?…in case I can’t find your videos on that 😅
Hey Cassie, I thought it looked great on you. Have a great rest of your week 🤘
I need the white sweater!!!! But I can't find it. 😭
Do you check the ingredients (if they r harmful)? or you just slap it on?😂
This broke me out sooooo bad 😭 still trying to recover 😅
Ahhhhhhh I was so waiting for this one for our oily skin!!!! And ... am I the first one??? 🤔 🤩🤩😛
what foundation brush does she use?????
Sponge side is the best from my view.
Hello! I am hoping you try the new Nars Soft Matte powder. I think you have the matching foundation so I am hoping you try those together soon. I have oily skin also and the foundation is great but I would love your opinion on them both together. Keep doing what you do! I love it!
I like your look at the end of the video!!!
It's MICA not shimmer.
Mario discusses this.
I got a sample and it does the same thing, it magically dissappears from my nose area and builds up around my mouth 😒 but everywhere else looks great and luminous... so I'm torn 😕 🤔
grrrrr so frustrating!! Glad it didn't just happen to me though 😅
Try eye primer on your nsoe
I’m so glad you are reviewing this foundation. I always trust you. :)
It looks so good on you!
Happy Thursday ❤
Came back to your channel after a long time. Felt like I was catching up with a friend and got all nostalgic about the background music you use and really missed seeing the montages you used to add to your videos. Hope all is well with you Cassie.
Can you try the charlotte tilbury flawless foundation pleaseeeee??
She has a review of it already. You can find it in her “foundation//oily skin review” play list! Happy watching!
This foundation isn't for me and my oily skin but it's meant to be for all skin types. But I like a matte look and no glow, luminous, dewy looks. So I know not to buy this as it has MICA and I only accept MICA in my highlighter and nothing else, for my oily skin. My oily skin is more oily than Cassies too.
I feel like his line is very yellow. The foundation feels like nothing I've ever tried - like skincare. But it seems like it would be super challenging to set and cause a lot of transfer.
Cassie I love your montage music, always have
Can you test the Juvias place new foundation.
What is the lipstick on day 3? That's really pretty.
Persona E-balm tinted lip balm in "Manifest"
That looks really good!!😳👍🏻😃❣️
Thank you for your review!
I just want to say I love love love whenever you post because any product that I want most likely you have made a video on it, with an extensive day wear result at the end and I also have oily skin so I really go by a lot of your recommendations as the final OK to purchase many make up products! I really want to see if the elf broad-spectrum sunscreen as well as their dupe for their version of their new glow screen sunscreen primer works well on oily skin! Do you in the near future think you’ll test these out ? Thanks for your content !
I facepalm every time she layers
Cassie! I recently picked up the Juvia’s Place foundation and I like it, but tbh, I need to hear your opinion on it please!
Thanks for the review, Cassie! It initially looks so pretty on you! Maybe you could save it for a shorter event/day! And … I love that white sweatshirt on you!! I thought it looked great in another video you wore it in!
Hey, how are you? Your voice is starting to sound "normal", so I hope you,'re feeling much better...👍
It's a bummer when a product in that price range is not performing 100%!
I've got oily skin and I hate when I have to babysit my makeup, but thankfully I can trust my super affordable Maybelline "fit me" foundation. 🤗💜✌️
Have you done the rare beauty foundation?
I’m 7 minutes in and this looks so good on you!! Love the shade too💕
Thank you for reviewing this! Was very curious about it.
you're welcome Lisa!! Happy to be of help 😊
Thank you. I have been curious about this and have heard so many reviews and yours is very honest and I appreciate that.
hi cassie , can you try some of isamayas make up ? 🙈
This brand, unfortunately, doesn't have enough fair shades. 😒
That's the new trend in foundation. They added to the dark shades, and removed the pale shades.
I enjoy your foundation reviews, but I don’t understand why you have to use so much product. Your skin was in good shape, but you still used 1.5 pumps on *each* side of the face, and then added more. Frustrating.
It’s her face not yours! Lol
@@Alicia85208yea but she’s making the look of any foundation cakey
@@jesss4837 every. Single. Foundation.
She does it to test how it layers since the foundation claims to be buildable. She clearly said she didn't need more coverage 🙄
Pretty makeup result 💕
I don’t want to freak anyone out, but I saw a white orb flying across Cassie at 0:19 / 0:20 - 0:21. If you listen from 0:18 and look closely, you’ll see it.
That’s a cat hair
@@shelleyjack1579 oh. Not me thinking I’m Theresa Caputo 🤣
@@Cloken100 lol. Love it 😂😂😂😂
I don’t want to be petty but I am so Bored of your background music lol. Please change it up, love watching your videos but it’s just ahhh I feel like a change would be nice 😊
I thought this looked really nice on you. Hope nothing traumatic happened to you. Some days I just need a good hallmark movie to get some tears out and then I'm fine lol
off topic but where did you get that cute hoodie?!😊
Omg are those-... PORES?! 👀🤯 OMG WE LOVE a foundation review without a filter!!! 🥰
Another great review. I think I would give this one a pass. But looked good on you in the beginning.
I hope they were tears of joy 🥰
This foundation looks good on you.
I was curious about this foundation, but I think I would be an oil mess. I am, however, very interested in the new KVD Apple foundation, and this one claims it's good for oily skin.
I see comments about using less - she does lol? I’m so confused …. She literally uses a light layer i believe it’s on the day 3
