- Star Wars Battlefront 2 is three years old and has no future updates planned. With that being said, is this still a good game to buy? Is there enough content available to justify buying this game? Is Battlefront 2 dead? Do you have to like star wars to enjoy this game? Isn't it all pay to win? @Andrew Barakos I remember playing the beta on naboo and it was fun. Didn't buy it. This year after watching all of star wars media I started playing it and I love it, it's a lot more polished that it was at launch. It's a great game.

In all honesty, though. This game was unreal on launch despite the obvious parasitic microtransactions that plagued the game. Galactic Assault was the last time I had genuinely immersive fun since Skyrim, Mordhau, Witcher 3, KCD, Divinity 2, etc.
Nah its actually because of a couple of reasons: Repetetive multiplayer, Mictotransactions, campaign and so much more. The game sucks now because everyone stopped playing and i don't blame them.

@@nsight-lj4kr I think the game switches servers for you if there's no games in your region, the only modes I struggle to find games on is ewok hunt and sometimes starfighter assault

I played for years, even during its worst moments I played Battlefront 2 cause I knew it was gonna get better, and it did. But after those few years the game was just getting stale for me, then once I heard of its cancellation I just lost interest. I’m a console player, so I couldn’t fall back onto mods to keep the game fun and interesting.
That being said I think Battlefront 2 is worth buying, it may not be fun for me anymore, but that tends to happen when you devote 2 years to a game. Regardless of my feelings, it’s a worthwhile experience with a great amount of content to keep new players interested for a long time.
Can definitely agree on one aspect, as I havent played BF2 CE yet, but after almost 3 years playing Rust, I got tired of it and a year later its become alot more popular recently and I'm just like, meh...
@@danielsterling4918 yeah, I just cannot have genuine fun playing Battlefront 2 anymore after all the time I dedicated too playing it. Once it was cancelled that was the nail in the coffin for me.
I play it every now and again but it’s just not the same. It’s better don’t get me wrong, I just lack the enthusiasm to play it knowing theirs no more the game has to offer me.

The original Star Wars battlefront 2 was a genius game. The fact that a 15 year old game, got almost everything we would ever wanted, to almost all Jedi and Siths, troopers, droids, etc. Its amazing that game was so well and ahead of its time. Just to remind you 15 year old game. Amazing.
that and back then there were no updates it released and that was it, they didnt get 2 years and a half to fix or add to the game, anyone playing games at that time pc ports were terrible, like nightfire, la rush etc but the console versions were great

I've just got this game for 7 pounds pre-owned.. now that's totally worth it ....I have the first one..10 pounds had it a year still play it .. love it..
My biggest complaint was that there wasn’t an option in the options that you could turn on that changed everyone’s outfit back to default from your point of view. Just cause I hated seeing a kashyyyk clone skin on Kamino or Naboo or a scarrif stormtrooper skin on Hoth. I just want to be immersed in battlefront 2 but that was always my biggest obstacle.
Yeah, that’s something that always bugged me whenever it came to the clone wars era. Guess that’s why I enjoyed the offline modes like instant action so much because every trooper could share the same colors and it wasn’t a mess like online was.
I was thinking of buying it for Christmas but was told the game was dead. But now I'm still considering it. Thanks for the review

I've had this game for over 3 years now and I still love it. It feels like EA is heading in the right direction however I dont know if they will ever be able to dig madden out of the hole they got that series into. But I'm happy they were able to do it here.
I bought it early this year and i still play it and it really brings the star wars experience to life fighting on all the different planets. Just a real shame dice put this game to a end would of loved to see more content being added in.

For me if they decide to make Battlefront II (old ver) remaster that would be great. I personally enjoyed the campaign, it gives insight for non sw fans of what sw is about. Maybe add a campaign from clone pov. Just my two cents
I bought this when it released and stopped playing it. I got a ps5 and wanted to try it and wow...it is like a completely different game.
The heros are so much fun to play, lightsabers are so cool, the maps are so beautiful and huge, the gunfights get intense, campaign is pretty fun, a crapload of content...im enjoying this game a lot more than CoD.
I just wish EA didn't give up on releasing new content for this. They should come out with a Mandolorian DLC, that would be so cool.

I got it recently since the price dropped to 12 bucks on steam and honestly for that type of money it is worth it, it’s alright and as a start wars fan it’s amazing, also it was the champion edition too

I got battlefront 2 last year on Christmas so ive had it for a year now its been fun
I played back in the beta and saw a loot crate and immediately just uninstalled the game and never touched it again until 2020 I bought it on Xbox deleted it and refunded it because it was buggy and awful now I got it on the pc installing now and I’m hoping at least 1% of what you said is real.

I think I’m gonna reinstall it now. Only reason why I stopped was because I already completed campaign (which is pretty decent) and there wasn’t many maps.
This weekend Steam had this game, Squadrons, and Fallen Order in a 50.00 bundle for all three.
I got here just in time cuz the epic games sale ends tomorrow I just tried to revisit bf2015 and 6 years later it’s not fun and mandalorian has made me feel the need for more Star Wars so here we are lol 😂

Got this free on PSN about a month ago and awaiting install. I can't wait to play this rehashed version of the game. I'm glad EA listened to their clientele (probably in part from Disney because I mean it is their IP now) and fixed the issues for this potential masterpiece.
I just bought this game because the game I mainly played with my friend isn't working and I'm loving it 😄
I just bought the game on the last day of sale in steam. I admit, it was a bit hard for a noob like me. But after 6 hrs of gameplay, i finally got the gist of it. ABUSE THE HELL OUT OF EVADE AND MELEE ATTACKS AGAINST HEROES.
There are a few little things not mentioned in the video here:
1. Reinforcements(special units) has a locked third person view, this alone in POS, will ruin your game in long corridors when the camera floats above the door or ceilings (Deathstar map is a prime example). Swordplay works fine in TPS but gunplay is not.
2. All venichles and heroes cost points. This often translates to the best players will rob you and your teammates from using these most of the time.
3. Huge maps, but only 20 vs 20 players... this is not a battlefield game. This is CS:S with bigger teams and lasers.
All in all visuals and sound is perfect, I really love it. But IMHO, these above mentioned things greatly reduced the fun factor.
Hell yeah it's worth it. I'm a Star Wars fan but you're right there's a lot of variety to it. I bought it right after they got rid of the micro transactions and still enjoy it. I personally think heroes vs villains is the best game mode.
I bought this only for hero battle I don't play anything else but if you play hero battle with like duel of the fates and Anakin vs obi on repeat on spotify it makes the fights feel so badass
I honestly didn't have a problem with launch. I didn't spend a dime on this game except when I bought it. Excellent game I keep going back to.
Currently downloading, download is quite hefty (90 gigabytes) so it will take couple of hours to complete! See you on the battlefieds :)

Is everything unlocked on the physical disc or do you have to download anything? Is the celebration edition available on a disc or is this dlc? & finally, can I play things like free for all offline? Please help
Just buy whatever’s cheapest you earn weapons and stuff progressively if you get the deluxe you get skins and that’s it.

Idk what modes you're queueing but on ps4 I get into Supremacy, GA, and SA lobbies within 20-30 seconds.
It’s a real shame because I love this game. Used to play it a couple years ago and couldn’t get going. Playing the game now is so fun. Idk what it was about the final update but it’s just great. It’s a shame that it had a bad launch because I see the price being reduced so much that it’s almost laughable. On the Xbox store on discount, it was like a fiver a few days ago which is almost an insult because it suggests that it’s not good or popular enough to be more expensive (even though it’s on discount it shouldn’t be that low). I think the game is at its best right now if you want to play the best version of the game. Every Wednesday it’s triple xp and you don’t have to grind hours and hours and hours to level up you just level up so quickly depending on how decent you are of course but even then you don’t have to be a pro. I remember it being quite difficult to level up but now that seems to be fixed. Even without the triple xp I have no problem levelling up my classes and heroes. Some maps are better than others but that’s just always going to be the case. I think if you’re thinking about buying it at all you definitely should because it’s not going to get any worse or any better. I think it’s as good as it could be in all honestly.

Is this game worth it if I don't really plan on playing much online? I've heard the story isn't that good, but what about the other modes in terms of single player?
As a kid with the original Battlefront 2, I always used to prefer playing on my own. Some days I'd just set up instant action and play 1 battle on every map.
I did the exact same thing with the original battlefront 2!
I went into this versions campaign with literally 0 expectation, and was very pleasantly surprised! Havnt completed it yet (I started today), but from what I've seen and played I've really enjoyed! Plenty of arcade options and "instant action" options.
It's now part of Xbox gamepass so if you have that, definitley try it!
I mainly play single player modes like instant action and arcade and I can tell you it's definitely a lot a fun! It's very immersive and you can choose whatever you want to play, the maps and even heroes, it's worth it even for the single player aspect of it. The only downside is that you can't really unlock skins and such through milestones and can't play map-restricted vehicles such as the AT-AT (which are only available in galactic assault i belive). Apart from that you don't really have to worry about leveling up as all the guns and star cards are unlocked and fully upgraded in these modes.
I've never been a huge fan of the star wars franchise, but this game is very fun

Besides the bad launch this game has become a great game all the heros are free they have another edition which is the celerbartion pack is £35 or dollars and you get evry thing in the game be sides event skins for heros but apart from that you get everything it's amazing
