EA is the most spoiled game developer in the world. They have so many good IPs and they fuck up so many of them or just try to suck all the money out of the playerbase. They always talking about create live service in a game but just want to collect all the money and do very little of the work. It's not even hard, release the game as it is and offer cosmetics and battle passes like other games so they can get the user engagement. Nobody is dropping 4.5k so they can play the full game. BF2 had the potential of being one of those titles people would still be playing 10 years later if it was any other developer. EA games are lucky to last 2 or 3 years with 10% of the original playerbase. It's a great redemption but still a sad ending it seems. I'll probably play this until it finally dies out.

But what's a week, if it supports the extension of the life span of the game? A week wouldnt be that much and I'm sure lots of people would willingly pay it if it included all other cosmetics as well

Clone Wars era it's the best
They keep hiring idiots who think the Original has an amount of enjoyably content after already having 1 game dedicated to it alone. That period only has 2 sabers & 3 if yoda but then it would be unbalanced since Palpatine uses only lightning.
Prequel era we have a full roster of heroes & villains to enjoy + undamaged Vader & Palpatine with a lightsaber or 2 lightsabers 😏, kid badass Boba & the bounty hunter goon squad. So much more content they could build off from launch that it even has Original content but better & younger lol.
But noo they really be sucking the Original characters dicks for no real reason. If bf3 ever is a thing these idiots bet not have it or we risk Bf3 being basically Dice Bf1 & 2 again with the same starting characters instead of being in the Prequel era at launch getting the best clone wars characters most of
Ls: Ani, Obi, Ashoka, Mace (they refused to put the 1 black jedi we wanted smells like racist at Dice/Ea but we get the 2 gun wielding ones 😒 seems legit), Plo Koon, Kit Fisto (same va from clone wars).
Ls: Padmé, Duchess Satine, Bo Katan, Rex, Saw Gerra or Hondo, & Clone 99 cause he deserves respect!
Ds: Maul, Savage, Asajj Ventress, Grievous, Pong Krell, & Dooku.
Ds: Cad Ban, Pre Vizsla, Kid Boba, Bossk, Aurra Sing, Dengar
1st wave of dlc characters would be IG-86, Capt Typho, Ki Adi Mundi, Palpatine, AniVader, Qui-Gon Jinn, Shaak Ti, Jango, Barriss Offee, Luminara Unduli after that its easy.

I'll never forgive EA for pulling the plug on this game, there was still so much they could have added and so many bugs they needed to fix. Hell I'm a Battlefield fanboy and I was way more hyped for future Battlefront content over the next Battlefield game.
I had friends and coworkers that have never even watched a full Star Wars movie that was playing and enjoying the hell out of this game and that really goes to show how great it was becoming.
Such a damn tragedy for killing it too early.

Have you heard the tragedy of Darth BF2 the wise? Its not a story E.A would tell you. A consumer legend, BF2 started out like galaxy of heroes, but grew into a legend so powerful, the only thing it had to fear was its past taking it down, which of course, it did.

@@Tysnack that was when Battlefront had a major boost in players since ROS came out in that time as well as Clone wars season 7 so battlefront had its last few updates and then they stopped development unfortunately but that time period was prime Battlefront since they fixed a lot of problems and added new stuff

@@Sean_Connery there was more hype around the game and a lot of people were talking about it. I’m a veteran and have had game since launch, I miss launch month and December 2017 just because of all the hype and finally being able to play with all the new characters.

@@elfasto2255 i believe it was cancelled because of the season 7 of the clone wars. They said its because of Bf6 but that's a cover up imo. The production of the season 7 started at the same time with the cancellation of the ahsoka and padme. Later we found their audio files.

It's BS that EA cancelled a game that had one of the best comebacks in video game history, and a huge fanbase. Nobody could have lived up to BF2's legacy. I hope they either make Battlefront 3, or make another surprise update to revive Battlefront 2.

I'd much prefer more updates, tbh. Still remember how much stuff from the first one is missing in the second that I really wish we still had... (IE: *All* those nice maps, Death Star Battle Station, Scarif Infiltration, regular Cargo, all the different blasters, etc.)

My favorite memory is playing Geonosis for the first time. I was the clones and was the first in the at te. I remember having a blast and playing it many more times. I also Denver the beta. So much hope. I have been here the entire time and to bf 2 I say: It was a pleasure, my friend.
I love these “going back in time videos”, really fills you with nostalgia
And also reminders of how terrible Battlefront 2 used to be. Lack of communication, lack of content, and Broken characters.
Thankfully it got far enough that most characters were brought to a balanced state.

My memories with Battlefront 2 are still being made as I’m relatively new to the game. Battlefront 3 should be B2 remastered adding loads of new content. That’s what I would do if I were in charge.

Free radical has a 98% completed bf3, which if ea was smart(they're not), they would finish, remaster and release the game. You could travel between space and land seamlessly in galactic conquest

Imagine an open base star wars that’s multiplayer. You could travel to different planets and buy and customize your own ship, and choose what you do. That would be sick
Star Wars The Old Republic mate go check it out solid game and you just need to buy the subscription once to gain full access to everything that is offered. After that cancel and you have the whole game with so much content you will literally faint at the sight.

Looking at this post-Cyberpunk: I can’t believe there’s been a game with a more disastrous launch than BF2.
There is no way that cyberpunk had a worse launch that BF2 lol. It is receiving more hate because people expected it to be perfect, but on systems that can actually run the game it is receiving universally high reviews. It's just the consoles that cant run it where there is controversy. BF2 was universally hated at launch, no matter the platform.

Honestly I think that the developers were even more upset that the game ended. They put a lot of work into the game and wanted to add things that everyone wanted.

Lo habia jugado apenas salio en la version de prueba, me encanto, despues tristemente no pude seguirlo jugando x q salia muy caro en Argentina, pero ahora de neuvo gratis es tremendo, y se ve tremendo es el mejor battlefield a mi gusto, ya que no me gusta el battlefield con armas viejas, me gusta los sonidos de star wars y que sea futurista.
i'm not even surprised at this point, EA honestly just seems like its managed by a group of boomers who never even touched video games before.
It's a shame really that the beginning was a disaster and when DICE began to resurrect this game, EA is killing it. Poor decisions on both counts - bad start, poor timing to end it. I wish that DICE could at least made GA, HvV and other maps for single player before ending the live support. Would have been great to be able to continue to play this game even when the servers shut down.
I swear if they DARE to shut down the servers, they release it too early when its incomplete, they stop supporting it when it has tons of plans into the future...

Honestly, the current biggest issue with the game is the map rotation and lack of a server browser. Who really wants to play on Kashyyyk every time when the game has soo much content now

The live service was ended because this game’s monetization system doesn’t make enough money.
They could’ve made money with it easily, also EA aren’t short of a dollar.

live service takes work and you can't make all your money within 9 months of release. EA can make money on the IP, they just don't want to go that path or are incompetent.

I love battlefront 2, it’s one of the few games that I’ve 100% completed, I’ve unlocked all the achievements, milestones and cosmetics. I think I’ve played over 1000 hours in total since launch.
Can we just appreciate for a moment the fact that ea completely removed the whole pay to win part of their game because we asked them to, and managed to revamp and complete this incredible game
Remember in March of last year telling my friend the game is amazing and him not believing me. I brought him a copy for his birthday and that honestly was the most fun I have had In gaming for a very long time.
I’m still playing battlefront and still love it. I’ll be playing the same 3 games until I get the PS5 so imma gonna play BF2 into the ground 😅
I've been playing BF2 on the ps5, and let me just tell you, WOW!! It loads up extremely fast and runs smoothly
When he talked about the graphics, imagine what Battlefront 2 would look like on the PS5 it would look awesome.
When the 2015 battlefront was released, I got bored of it quick, I was excited for the beta, knew about the pay to win and decided not to buy the game, I bought it about a year ago soley for the campaign and just started playing multi player today, and I'm loving it, I feel I've missed out on a lot but the game is well populated and I'm still enjoying it. This video was awesome my guy! Your channel will progress much further, you've got that passion for it

Definitely, my favorite memory is finally getting the game at the beginning of May in 2018 because I had to save up to get an Xbox. I never had a gaming system like Xbox or PS before and only played Battlefront 2015 a couple times with friends, so this was the first game that I have ever owned. Playing through the whole transformation was an experience I will never forget. They have truly made a beautiful game and were so close to fulfilling everything I wished to see in the game. It should not have ended as it did. Thank you Ozzy for all the great Battlefront content you made for us. I really hope to see the live service come back up or the next battlefront come soon so you can start making more content on the series.

COVID-19 is to blame
EA wanted to focus on their own Franchise of Battlefield.... and because of that they Cancelled Battlefront 2 and took the Dice creative team so they could work on the next battlefield game.
Hence why battlefront 2 was cancelled when it was just getting good.... so in short EA can go screw themselves for cutting off support for a game everyone was loving.

A beautiful video - I remember all of this like it was yesterday. Still one of my favorite games based on how much they fixed it and Star Wars. The hype that came back in 2019 was BEAUTIFUL, it made me so happy to see content creators coming back and the player base being back at the top.

Good times...I remember pre ordering battlefront one and me and my friend played allll day. It was so fun. We bought all the season passes with cloud city and everything. Then battlefront 2 came and the same thing happened. There were ups and downs but it was always my favorite game Becuase I didn’t care about “pay to win” or not enough content. It was about Star Wars. The galaxy I like so much. A quote That i think captures this feeling was “Cars didn't drive on it to make great time. They drove on it to have a great time.” I really just want to thank them for even making this game. Watching this video made me miss so much those months in 2019 where we got a new community update from time to time and even if they added the slightest thing, everyone was losing their heads because they wanted to play, is such a shame they decided to stop the support for the game when it was on its peak, and also stopping the support for BFV when the game was starting to make a comeback as well, all of that for BF2042 and look how it turned out

Honestly I grew up playing both new battlefronts in high school and it’s really sad to see that so much couldn’t be brought to the game, but I enjoyed playing it with friends who gave me great memories I’ll have for a long time to come. So I’m all I’m grateful for all these games gave me despite all the setbacks

I had the game since launch. But I played it once and put it in my drawer till the grievous update. I got back on and been playing since. One of my favorite games. Now every time I show or tell my friends about this game they get interested. A shame the potential cut

A BF3 with Mando content, plus updates alongside the upcoming shows/movies, would be great. I think they could catch a reinvigorated fan base.

this game in the new console generation is honestly one of the most overlooked experiences, i got my series s and got a few games, halo monster hunter, this, and fallen order. and this game is the most fun and impressive thing ive played. SMOOTH AF visually amazing multiplayer that genuinely feels like experiencing star wars battles (especially in 1st person camera)

The value of CO-OP can't be understated. As a casual gamer, I gave up on BF2 as Galactic Assault lacked any sort of ranking system, so I'd just go join a game and die the whole time. CO-OP allowed me, and I think a lot of other casual players to really get into the game, and also level up their classes and heros. I only wish Starfighter CO-OP could have been a thing. It's even harder to level up starfighters.

One thing that's irritated me for so long in this game is that ever since the BB update the physics of Vader's cape got messed up so now his arms phase through the cape literally whenever he moves or stands still so that his elbows are always poking through it. That and the small detail where Kylo's lightsaber used to ignite the cross guards after the main blade when turning it on are 2 small bugs that I've always wanted them to fix but never did
Note that the cape clipping issue doesn't happen for any of the other heroes like Dooku or Kylo, Vader is literally the only hero who's elbows clip through his cape for some reason
My favorite memory of Battlefront II was definitely playing Ewok Hunt for the very first time.
I use the word redemption loosely, no man's sky was a redemption. This was a halfed ass attempt to save face.
I played the hell out of Battlefront and couldn’t wait to play II. I played it the second it came out and couldn’t believe how much the game I was so excited to play was really just a giant the lump of crap. I gave it a few tries, but went back to Battlefront. After a while, I took a break. After watching some old screen captures, I’ve just recently gotten back into Battlefront and I’m hooked again. So, today, I considered going back to II and found this video. I had absolutely no idea they’d canceled the damn game. That’s insane. Thanks for posting the video. It was a good history lesson.

My friend and I started playing battlefront 2 in the summer and it is amazing after only playing for a few months. The only time we get upset is when we get destroyed in heroes vs villains by max players. Other than that the game is amazing. Both of us are stunned because they’re not updating the game. I’m positive that there’s many people like us who just got the game and love it and are just not finding matches or in awe that it’s not getting updates. Great vid
