Tasting FOUR Homemade Wines and FIVE Beers

- It's time for something a little bit different. Over the last couple of years we've tried our hand at making wine - and beer - from various fruits and vegetables that grow on our small farm in Portugal.
We've made a selection of country wines from a wide variety of fruit including cherry wine, plum wine, peach wine and others. We've even dabbled with "proper" wine made from grapes as well as beer brewed from grains. A number of people have asked how our wine making is going so we thought what better way to answer that than to do a taste test. But don't take our word for it - let's find out what some (mostly) impartial guests think of our home brew concoctions.
Will it be delicious or disgusting? Let's find out!

Emma and Kat stole the show; lovely combo that must be fun to hang out with (particularly after a few!). Great video!
Always love it when your sister and her partner show up. I can't recall the last time I saw someone go from stone cold sober to not-quite-half-tanked in less than 20 minutes! 😀
My thoughts entirely! A couple of gigglers...
Hilarious video and a very enjoyable watch with my late Saturday morning breakfast. Nearly choked on my cereal.😂 great to see you all 'relaxing' for a change and having fun. Enjoy your weekend with your family.
No, no, no. This sort of thing should absolutely not be allowed unless viewers can partake in the tasting 😢😂🤭😒
One day maybe someone will invent a smell-vision and then taste-vision device 😂
Subscriber wine tasting party at Guy and Kylie's!
I agree
@@MAKEDOGROWYou guys are so good at solving problems, I won't be surprised at all, if you come up with that solution 😍🙃
Love your sister & her partner, both have a great sense of humour.
"I can't feel my tongue anymore" ... LOL...
Best line of the experience.
You all together is really a joy to watch ☺️
According to your lovely tasting experts, you are looking at a future wine and beer garden filled with oats and courgettes! Sounds like you all are having an enjoyable holiday together.
A delightful video! I think you should have those knowledgeable, articulate women over every year for the year's tasting!
although we saw Emma and Kat in the well video, we didn't see much interaction, so loved this. They're almost as much fun as the two of you! Really enjoyed this video - please greet them both from an old retired couple in Ireland :)
Enjoyed this video a looot!!! Lol 😂😂😂 these 2 ladies are a lot of fun. Don't give up on your wine-making skills. One day you will master it!!!
Could I make a suggestion? I think that your sister and her partner have very good personalities and relationship for a RUclips channel reviewing food, wine, travel locations etc. maybe you would consider suggesting this to them?
Or running a b&b with wine They are sweet.

Well well. The beer maker will be proud of himself and, of course, the courgette wine which went down a bomb. Lovely change and clearly shows your versatility at digging deeper into the intricacies of any recipe be it hemp, beer or wine.
Emma and Kat are adorable. Looks like you had another fun, family visit :) I'm with Kylie - stouts over IPA/APA anyday.
More of these two - great on camera, good sense of humour - fantastic addition.
Terrific tasting. Cheers to all of you. Great fun to watch and laugh along with. 🎉
That was fun to watch and we wish we were there. Reminds us of our attempt to make strawberry wine. Half the demi-john contents exploded over the kitchen, we used the rest to make 6 bottles. 5 exploded inside our back porch. The only remaining bottle fizzed so much, we had to wait half an hour for the bubbles to subside but we drank it out in the garden (safest place) on a very warm day. It was gorgeous but waaay too dangerous 🤣.
🤣🤣🤣 I'm glad you were at least able to taste it!
*Fun to watch.... as Emma & Kat got slightly tipsy.... hope their heads were ok the next day. 🙂. Burp.*
That was excellent seeing you all relaxing with a few drinks. I think I was smiling from start to finish.
As an Aussie that was the best laugh I’ve had in a long time
Hi, Kylie and Guy. It was good to see you enjoying yourselves with Kate and Emma.
We used to make shed loads of wine in the early 1980's and found that the most drinkable were the root wines.. especially parsnip. The one we had the most hope for was a rosehip - in the fermenting it was amazing - but drinking was disgusting. I do have a load of cherry brandy on the brew, and that is amazing. Thanks for the vlog, always a joy.
Very knowledgeable test subjects. Good input.
Very entertaining. Well done, all of you.
I'm a teetotaler, by the way. Judging by the girls' glazed looks after just the wine, One sniff and I'd be walking one of Kylie's most intricate knitting patterns - that stuff looks potent 😂 8:53
Well that was fun!!! 🥰🎶❤️🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
Absolutely love watching your videos 😂 nobody does a taste test quite like you!
Loved this video, so intrigued by the courgette wine, especially as we’ve just had a glut!
You can use a water distiller to 'recover' the alcohol off the failed wines, you can then combine that and strip off the top and bottom end to remove the off flavours, and then use the result to make limoncello with.
That's why I love reading the comments. Interesting titbits to be gleaned.
Oh yes, there’s a great channel called ‘Still It’ that did an experiment with some store bought wine. His results were ok, not great …. but a good idea to prevent waste
1.) Kylie’s hair style:10/10
2.) The girls were good sports about it all:
“Tastes like cough syrup “
“A hangover in a glass”😆
“Smells like the cat’s litter tray.”😆😆😆
“Smells like paint thinner.”
“What does cerveja mean?”😵💫 🍺😄
Very entertaining video!
3.) I was relieved that Guy didn’t approve of ALL the samples.
That tasting was so fun to watch. Thank You
Ohhhh that was fun lol.
lol this was awesome. You're all a lovely, lively bunch. Thank you for giving us a glimpse, and I hope you all have a lovely time together.
Lots of fun! Do it again!
Emma & Kat would make GREAT regulars on MDG !
Loved everything about this video.
I love these ladies!!!!
What fun, now 70 and still wine tasting with my friends, we also can’t seem to spit it out, and just get more giggly, where are the dry biscuits to clear your palette, I’ve even ended up sleeping under a table🤔
😂😅😂😅😂😅 it's wonderful to see you taking some down time and having a good time 😊😊
That was one very Funny video😂 cheers to you all🍷🍸🍺
So much fun to watch! Hahahaha 😂
Years of work critiqued in one small video 😂
Tnx. Kat and Emma put a big smile on my face😊. Congrats on the successful ones👏
Ha ha ha the girls are hilarious and got funnier as they drank more … absolutely loved this 😂😂😂
i love these ladies! and i love how funnier theyve become as they drank more
Love wine tasting! This was a great episode . What drink did you have with dinner...
Great video!!! Real fun to watch, thanx!
A fantastic video. As a home wine maker myself I was really interested . I made so many different wines but a favourite was Plum. My sister & I once drank Plum which was still slightly fermenting and we were as drunk as a skunk after 1 bottle ! I found that, if the wine was too acidic / sour / dry, if you add some sugar (in steps, not a pound at a time !) & gentle turn the bottle to dissolve it can become a drinkable dessert or summer sit-around- and-chat wine.
Great vlog. Smiled all the way through.😊❤
I totally agree! What a delightful video 🎉❤
I love your sister and her partner! Great video!
What a delightful quartet to spend my Saturday morning with! Thanks!!!
The homemade vine I made during the years always gets better by storage for a year or more, nowdays become convenient and buys the vine needed. If there's a place in your magical Portugese mansion not really needed why not a vine cellar?
As always; Love the work - love the result.
Great fun! I know nothing about wines except the white zinfandel I buy in the box at my favorite liquor store! It's $16.99 for 5 liters and it always meets my expectations! LOL! Thanks for sharing. 🇺🇸
That was utterly delightful.
Hi guy's great video. X
So fun watching the four of you. Had a nice Saturday morning laugh. Going to show this one to my husband.
That was great fun- had a grin on my face throughout..
Reminded me of when I started working and a bunch of lads living next door were always borrowing milk, tea, sugar etc from us. They would pay us back in homemade beers - a very mixed experience I think but my memory is a bit hazy for some reason. Could have been the.alcohol volume (the next day headaches were epic)!,
i keep loking for a dark ipa in london, found maybe 2-3 times, some craft beer places dont even know they are brewed. when i saw that last beer poured my mouth watered, looked great
Opportunity for a touring destination, this....!?
That was such a funny show, i had such a good laugh. I loved the show.
One of your best videos to date. Emma and Kat stole your show - Kat has a keen sense of both taste and smell. Well done girls.
Oh how I enjoyed this video.
That was the funniest wine tasting I've ever seen. Wine snobs should learn from you.😋😋
Fun, funny!
Hugs from 🇨🇦
It’s been lovely seeing your sister and her partner. And wine tasting was great to watch.
great vid also good to see the goon bag a great australian invention make an appearance 😁
I remember in my late teens hanging a bag from the washing line (I forget the Aussie term) and spinning it to see who had to drink next 😂
I'm just here for the personalities. Love all y'all!
Excelente.
This video had me smiling the whole time 😊

Great video, from Eastern Washington, USA
What fun. Some decent results too. You are getting clever. Best wishes to all.
A very fun entertaining video! 🍷🍺
I absolutely loved this. What a fun afternoon ❤️
This is absolutely the most hilarious wine tasting I've ever watched. 😂 It needs more snacks. Me too. 🥂😂🍻
Such a fun video, I”ve had a good chuckle. 😂👍
Thoroughly enjoyed this one and smiled the whole time. In addition was pleasantly surprised to learn Kylie is Australian - how dreadful of me being one myself. I thought she may have been South African. I apologise profusely to have assumed 😅😅😅
Never thought I'd enjoy watching someone else taste wine and beer, especially if I didn't get any!!! Great video, very enjoyable and wish I could have had (some). Thank you for sharing. 😉
Such a fun video. Those girls are hilarious 😆
By the end of the wine tasting both the girls were a bit Glassy eyed.....and getting merry
What a delight.
That was a LOT of fun! Thank you!!! We're going to have to explore this drinks making activity because clearly it's necessary for human advancement. Bring on the courgettes!!!
Fun vlog for sure! Love the girls honest reactions. ❤😊
😂😂😂 good laugh , made my Saturday 💋❤️😎🇫🇷
Loved this episode
Ahhaha, a very honest tasting. I think you have a future with beers! Excellent video 😂
Make do grow and drink!, great content.

Ahhh, the joy of glycolysis! Loved this, Cheers! X
This video was sooo funny. I loved it.
You guys are funny, the more pissed you get.
PS. KYLIE, said it all at the end!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Beautiful video.
I love wine, but above all the extensive vocabulary to describe it.
That was great. Loved every bit of it. The girls had lots of fun too. Who would have thought a courgette wine would have been the winner, especially with banana in it.
What fun! My family runs on sarcasm as well. ❤
Very entertaining episode.
Well this was fun! Seeing you in a non working capacity was refreshing.
Brilliant. Congratulations on those beers especially. Really want to try your courgette and lucky peach wines...
