Im honestly really tired with the bs people kept giving when they are trying to defend codemasters. Their physic engine doesnt feel any easier at all, it just doesnt make sense to the real world, yet people are still claiming physics models like these are actually easier for most people

I wish they added back a feature in 2019/18/17 that shows you which teams are interested in you, it seems weird being apart of a driving academy but being able to join any team, I find the car being easier to drive, which I like but I don’t think thats a good thing because the physics feel really weird

For the two issues you mentioned for assetto corsa already have fixes.
The bop between cars can be done with ballast and restrictors (it is within grid presets). You only need to adjust the bop once, save it, and load it instantly if you want to race some f1 cars
The DRS issue also got its fix within racedepartment. Its called F1 regulations. It limits the usage of drs on both ai and players, allowing drs to fullfill its true purpose. But the one downside is that it is a hassle to install the mod. Although like all things in assetto corsa, after youve set it up once, you'll have it for the rest of its life

    I don’t think skipping porpoising is a bad point of F1 22
Sure it happens in real life, but lets not forget its a unintended consequence of the regulations, and all teams are designing towards eliminating it
Its like making a car or mod that just snaps the rear axle ( well, codemasters already do thus ) intentionally

I love that you didn't just dunk on F1 22s physics, but actually highlighted the strenghths as well. Yes, pretty much every modern sim has better physics than the F1 games, but those sims are just sims. What the F1 games have done what no other game could is capture the vibe of the real sport. Nothing comes close to F1s career mode. Nowhere else can you start in F2 and secure contracts with individual teams, have rivalries with other drivers, develop the car you're driving. Nowhere else can you replicate the exact rules of the sport with its unique qualifying format and other quirks like ERS and DRS (well except for the absent red flags and the fact that lapped cars can't unlap themselves during a safety car).
And the game is wonderfully accessible. Playing Assetto Corsa with anything that isn't a steering wheel is almost pointless, but you can easily play the F1 games with an xbox controller if you don't fancy spending hundreds or thousands of dollars on sim racing gear.
F1 is definitely not a sim, but it's a game, and a pretty solid one at that.

Hey Ermz, as others have pointed out some of the things from AC can be fixed with mods and the one complaint you had from AMS2 also can be fixed as AMS2 is still one of the sole platforms in which you can mod the AI behaviour per car per track. On RD are some F1 AI files, many come with the repaint packs, they change the AI behaviour on multiple fronts including aggression, chances of dive bombs, opportunistic tendency's, chances of making mistakes etc etc and can truly transform the AMS2 offline experience, esp since they can be installed and only be active when a given track and car is selected.

Codemasters blew it again. The physics are unrealistic and the feel is unrepresentative. What would help is to use actual values from the in-car recorders to depict a realistic simulation of the cars performance based on temps, atmospheres, and durability. As expected there isn’t much value here as a sim which is a shame considering how much time and effort was applied to the ultra realistic visuals for brands. Another small complaint about career mode is the lack of “randomizing” events. Things break, mechanics get sick, support crews run into delays etc. having a random event setting would add to the experience and the challenge .

Even though you talk about Assetto Corsa, I purchased F1-22 because they now provide the VR option. All previous versions did not provide full VR. I had to use VORPX which is kind of a 3D view of the game and have 3 previous version setup for VORPX. Whether future yearly versions of F1 provide VR, I will get each version if they do. Otherwise I will not get any future F1 games without VR.

Bear in mind that no other racer recreates the presentation that f1 22 brings to the table. And I think that for the majority of people who buy f1 22, the presentation is exactly what they're looking for. AC can definitely offer better driving but the cost is that you have to hunt all that shit down, download it, install, make tweaks the setups, etc. And for some that's fine and it's worth it.

They brought the license to them, not the other way around. F1 had an agreement with Codies before EA got involved, I'm sure if F1 is unhappy with the quality of their games, they'll revoke the license, as they've done previously.

To be honest, this game is okay. Could it be better? Yeah. But honestly, for what its sposed to do, its not the worst thing ever. Maybe a big feature could bring the fans to the stands, preferrably better penalty systems, but this is a yearly release.
That aint easy to do every year unless they stop releasing annually for a bit to do so. And when it stops coming, it is solely felt in sales and dissaproval. Could be worth it long term tho if it works out. Their hands are kinda tied. Unless they wanna revamp and rework everything or start from scratch, most they can do is work with what they have. It aint amazing, but it could be so much worse. (Looking at you Madden.)

With Iracing keep in mind that to race online your going to need an A class licence and that ain't easy to get thats countless hours but The driving experience is like nothing else
Saying this you still can hot lap practice and set A.i races within the sim if you don't hold an A class license

    • @Rad-88
      @Rad-88 2 года назад

The AI in iracing is also really good in terms of behaviour, and make smarter moves compared to other games that i experienced, dont just try and ram you off the track. Plus you can customize their aggressiveness and skill independetly so you could make a grid like IRL, except you can't have the real team liveries except for the Mercs or have them all be basic colors with AMG AMG AMG AMG on the back.

If AC skill level at 100 isn't enough, you can easily give your own car restrictor / ballast. I personally find 95% well enough. I own AMS2, AMS1, rF2 and even iRacing. But AC is my choice for F1 season. It needs quite a lot of tweaking but it's worth it.

Codemasters has access to Slightly Mad's Madness Engine. If they really wanted to move more towards the sim-side they have the option. Maybe they do it for the proper next-gen only F1 game. That's the only way we get a better driving F1 game.

I had trouble with RF2(and a lot of games) up until recently. I’ve found that i can overclock my CPU and GPU fairly stable, but my motherboards XMP profile for my memory(factory overclock) was the source of my problems. I’ve then since disabled XMP with the result that no game, not even RF2 has since crashed on me. Could be that this could be the culprit of your problems with RF2. I know it can be a pain in the butt to set-up properly and has outdated graphics. But set-up correctly, and not crashing, RF2 is by far the most fun and realistic(feeling) racing sim.
