      EA owns the licenses to a bunch if different sports, thats why they dont improve their games cuz they dont have any compitition. as soon as another company starts making games competeing with EA thats when we'll see improvements. when 2k made NFL games, they were better than EA, so EA had to try and make a better game. but now that 2k cant make NFL games anymore, EA has no reason to actually make good games because people keep giving them money for doing little to no work

    One thing that i've always found annoying is how they can never make the AI difficulty thingy balanced across all tracks.
    Even F1 2020, a game I still play because the handling is just so good, has this issue. Austria I could drive with 95% AI, but Bahrain I got absolutely destroyed in qualifying with the same 95% ai. And I actually felt faster in bahrain. There are even difficulty calculators that show for which tracks you should lower the AI and where to higher it.
    I might be stupid here but, how hard can it honestly be to make the AI balanced across the tracks? I really dislike having to fiddle with the difficulty percentage before every race.
    (And I don't mind being a bit slower on a certain track, that happens. But some tracks I'm like 5/6 tenths slower on the exact same difficulty but my leaderboard time is actually better!. And you really see where the AI gain time as well)

    • @donnythedealer9761
      @donnythedealer9761 2 месяца назад +2

      yh, the main problem is when youre consistently slower on the same track each time you race it, so each season of career mode feels the exact same, cos youre literally slow on the same tracks. Same tracks are easy, same tracks are hard. Theres no difference, and thus no challenge.

    • @CrashXII
      @CrashXII 3 месяца назад +10

      @@deputyskog It´s because many people think in the following steps when it comes to EA:
      Step 1: EA buys a (beloved) Studio
      Step 2: They take control of the Studio and their Games become worse because of it
      Step 3: EA closes the Studio
      While not wrong it also isn´t necessarily right which leads to a revisionistic or nostalgic look of the acquired Studios and their Games. Due to this many people forget or have never witnessed how Codemasters operated in the past. Be it having wrong Tracks and never updating them, making Games randomly worse from one iteration to the next or adding MTX. New Spa actually appeared in Automobilista 2, before both F1 24 _and_ iRacing! You'd think for at least EA's sake, being the "Official Game of Formula 1" that we would've had it in 23, buuuut nope.
    I do hope F1 open up the license so that it's no longer exclusive, because they're losing the market very quickly with EA's incompetence (and complacency).
    I have 2017, I think 2019, loved 2020, hated 22, loved 23, tried the beta of 24, and immediately lost interest.
    This yearly model for sports games can't hold up any longer, there's no way people are still willing to shell out $70 for something that could've just been an update to the previous game. The "MSFS Method" would be better, one game every however many years. In F1's case, one game every regulation cycle.

    Personally i think that the main issue is because the game releases sooner and sooner. I remember F1 games releasing by the end of the season (take F1 2010, released in September for example). Now the game comes in April, when the season barely started, so the devs can't get any proper data on how the machines perform and on how they can make the physics work to have a good driving feel with the cars, which is the biggest issue with 24 from what i saw (and experienced).

    My view, as someone who's played a lot of F1 racing titles over the course of 42 years (yes I'm old) is this: The majority of F1 racing games have not been realistic simulations. In fact, I can only think of one series, which is the Geoff Crammond Grand Prix series from 1992-2002, which really nailed the F1 simulation vibe. Sure there's stuff like rFactor and other simulators that allow you to download and install f1 packs, but they're not officially licenced (as far as I know) and are more of a general racing simulation (a sort of jack of all trades) than a dedicated F1 racing sim.
    The majority of f1 racing games have been things like Pole Position, Pit Stop II, Grand Prix Circuit, Ferrari Formula 1, Super Monaco GP, Vroom, Psygnosis's F1 series, Sony's F1 series and now Codemasters' f1 games. Basically, in all the years of F1 racing games, the vast majority have been fairly arcadey racers with some sim-like elements, and the number of actual deep and realistic F1 racing sims you can probably count on the fingers of one hand.

    That's why despite being a much worse game, i prefer to play F1 24 over 23.
    I REALLY wish f1 25 has a much more in-depth career mode. It's the main point of F1 games for me, as I don't have the confidence to race real people online. @phenomklopsd4633 it's why im not too negative towards future games in the video, codemasters have two teams that alternate development, so next year it's the f1 23 team again, and seeing as they now have a decent base for career mode, hopefully 25 will be okay. it'll be fun to revisit this in a few months time to see if f1 25 fixes things

But you just confirming that its not a skill issue on my part and that the AI is just insanely fast on some corners/tracks makes me feel alot better about my driving skills haha. I do play on controller and Im not the best, but tracks like Hungary, Zandvoort, Singapore are just downright impossible to race on for me without lowering the AI at least 10 ticks from my normal difficulty, otherwise the AI just casually pulls 1 second a lap on me

I also always hated the bright vivid primary colors they use, which is unrealistic and detracting. I like the steady improvements of the main core features, as one cannot expect that much real changes here on an annual release cycle. Whats here works.

    "Any dumb stuff is Codemaster's fault and their fault only." No. EA gutted Codemasters. They laid off more than half of the company. EA did (obviously) increase their budget, but Codemasters was already a pretty small studio and EA made it even smaller. That being said, I loved the hidden dig at the energy drinks company masquerading as a racing brand. The only things that changed were the car designs. It's just lazy. I understand it's a yearly game, so their ability to revamp and make it great is limited, but that's on them. Put in the effort to fix the problems, and the fans will applaud them, but they don't. I actually jumped back into F1 23 a few days ago (I forgot I bought it) and it's garbage. But the problems lay deeper than just the games performance and as well in the structure of FOM's & F1 Esports own inability to create a proper platform that allows people from all across the world to have access to the esports series rather than just having everything based in Europe. Its just one of the main reasons why along with many others the game is so far behind iRacing & Assetto Corsa in terms of performance & their own esports series, as the people who run everything are so out of touch with the community they don't really care as long as they are getting their pay check for the most part eventually it will hit them one day but that maybe still way off.

    Imo, F1 2020 and F1 23 were the best F1 games I have played, and AI have played since 2015! I started league racing on 22 where I had to have traction on medium to at least stay pointing in the right direction and ABS on.
    F1 23 was my game, traction felt so much better to the point where off felt like medium on the previous years game, however I did run with ABS on for most races as rear-brake locking was very common, but I still managed to win 3 races on it, Hungary was my first in dry-wet-dry conditions, Monaco by 28 seconds (absolutely dominated), and Singapore as the race leader spun out of Turn 3, and I felt confident on it.
    F1 24... Eh, honestly is quite bad. I don't feel confident at most tracks which maybe is a setup issue, but I still try and perform. The handling to updates have really screwed me over, and I just can't carry as much speed as I see others doing through corners. I finally did though have a good race around Silverstone where I got a P6... Although I did Qualify in P4, passed them and looked for a podium and then wheel dissconections but I still enjoyed it!
