"Why can't I buy FM7?" "Its too old." "What do you mean? Its digital!" "We made a new one, you gotta buy that" "Ok, is the new one better?" "No, notably worse." *head explodes*
"This game is a collective breakdown and destruction of a not only long standing and prided upon franchise but also a loved studio". So true. Turn 10 isn't even really there anymore.
Mine experience is more like: *Does 6 practice laps and 3 qualify laps *Game crashes to desktop "Welp... that's enough of that for today." *turns on GT7
Easy, they defended Forza 5, which got them 6 and they defended that recycled mess and got 7. So the stage was set up for more of copy pasta because the rubes will defend anything Turn10 puts out and defend it with their lives if need be. "I'm having fun anyway" crowd leads to the death of accountability. Now look at where Forza is, lies upon lies and folks still defending it. The earned everything Turn10 delivers.
@evilformerlys4704 and the incessant deflections such as "if you don't like it don't play it" "why do you care so much?" "You're not a dev" "games are very complex these days"
The amount of people defending the new FM on Racing Vista YT channel is crazy, then again at most of these are just throwaway accounts but why would anyone spend time from their precious life to defend a f*cking v i d e o g a m e
I had an experience dealing with a flat tire recently that seems applicable here. The tire was going flat, was able to limp the car to a nearby gas station to use their air machine. But the air machine was broken, only there wasn't any sign saying it was broken not did it prevent you from inserting money. After calling a friend with a compressor to come air my tire, I went inside to tell the Indian guy inside the gas station that they should put a sign or something on the machine, so people stop putting money in a broken machine. "Okay". And then I thought. Why should the gas station bother fixing the air machine. Normally people drive up, but in a few dollars, air up their tire and leave. With a broken machine, they drive up put in a few dollars, get pissed when it doesn't work, and then leave. Why fix the machine. It generates the same revenue even when broken. And that's the problem here. Why should Turn10 care to "fix" this game at all. Devs are figuring this out. Why bother improving their games. Just put out some slick marketing that gets people to buy a shit game, and then you've got their money despite selling a broken product. Rinse and repeat with the next title. Why spend money to fix and improve games when you can just...not, and make the same revenue. This gets back to the use of short term contractors mentioned in the vid. Why bother having a dedicated team who cares about the game, when some rando rotating contractors can do the job cheaper.
This just sums up not only the Forza franchise but the entire gaming industry these days, it's all a cash grab with no care for the gaming community it's actually sad
@@RonaldMcValeYe.. maybe… we can only hope… the thing bout franchises.. once established… they only need their first to be a hit/success. Anything and everything afterwards can be half assed so long as it carries the “brand” name. It is up to us, the consumer, to be cognizant about shady business practices, and warn others. Lest the cycle repeats. Across all genres and types of consumption.
@@RonaldMcVale I ain't getting my hopes up as I've been disappointed with so many games that promised so much in the lead up to their releases, especially forza motorsport, 6 years and we got this absolute shambles of a game
The biggest issue I have with every single Forza is that we still only have 90 degrees (180 in Motorsport 8) of steering lock in either direction... after nearly TWENTY YEARS OF FORZA
The insult to injury is that GT7 has seemingly come back with the release of new updates where they added a campaign, cars that people actually want, and are constantly improving the physics and sound effects that make it a genuine racing sim.
GT7 now versus launch is a huge improvement. There are gripes that there's not enough new cars and tracks, but every update and all new content is free. GT7 is now, in late 2024, a good game. Not without some frustrations, but it's a genuinely *good* game.
@@drunkhusband6257 The cars handle realistically, just because you’re used to Forza’s arcade physics that baby you doesn’t mean you need to hate on Gran Turismo. Last time I checked, Forza doesn’t have a driving Academy and is making future racing drivers like Gran Turismo is. You just have a serious skill issue.
@@vur2584I used to be a top level gran turismo racer. Let me tell you that they have completely ruined the game for me with some of these updates, especially the recent phsyique update. When you are trying to race with a wheel, some of the cars feel extremely awkward and unintuitive. I am not saying forza is better, by all means it is absolutely not and I still like Gran Turismo but tbh after starting iRacing I just cant be bothered with anything else.
I miss the days Forza tried to compete with Gran Turismo. Because it pushed Gran Turismo to be better. While I think GT3 and GT4 are the best sims of the 2000s, Forza 4 is the best sim of the 360/PS3 era overall. Specially because GT lost its way on GT5 and GT6. Only getting better with GT Sport after the stiff competition of Forza 4 and others. Forza 4 pushed GT to get more realistic sounds, ditching the synthetic sounds of the PS2 games. AssetoCorsa pushed GT to have more realistic driving. Currently Forza lacks on graphics, sound (Although sounding good, it is very unrealistic, specially the cockpit view sound), and the physics… lets say it reminds of Need for Speed Shift 2… in a bad way… I’m not a Forza fan, always have been and always will be manly a GT guy. Forza 4 is the best Forza in my opinion. I’ll always remember fondly of Forza 4.
I can agree with that, but Forza Motorsport's lack of rallycross and off-road racing is what drives some of GT fans away. Forza is stuck in 2000s tarmac-only trend and never moved on since, while even the most hardcore of all iRacing has Trophy Trucks and rallycross as some of their features.
Even in the smaller details, the developers completely fucked it up. Fr; who the hell made the decision that the Lotus Emira belonged with the Sport GT cars???
Being disappointed in GT7 and then playing this mess afterwards, must've felt being punched in the gut then a fist straight to the nut sack. Microsoft really excels at releasing bad games.
It's why you just gotta take the jump into actual sim racing bro. Try ACC or RaceRoom or rFactor 2 or LMU. I promise you the grass really is greener over here. Ditch the sim-cade stuff and try out the real stuff
Saying the first forza had better physics than GT4 is kinda delusional, i mean i loved FM1 back in the day, but GT4 physics with a steering wheel was another league
The progression to unlock stuff was a great idea but implemented in the worst way possible, if it was made as a progression PER CLASS instead of PER CAR, it would be great, cause in endgame it would all be unlocked for basically everything
I appreciate the developers' attempt to finally give the game more progression again. I was one of those who found the predecessors (especially Forza 7) extremely boring as a solo player and longed for proper progression. Unfortunately, the execution in Forza 8 is more than flawed and the career mode is the most boring and uninspired of the entire series.
Companies are so greedy that they are releasing bad games because they expect us to buy them anyway, like when they were actually good. They might fool us with 1 or 2 entries, but in the long term that strategy will destroy big franchises like this, gran turismo, pokémon, ... Years ago these franchises cared about making good games, now it's only about making profit. We have to make them pay by not purchasing these games anymore.
I still listen to the Motorsport 4 menu music quite often and as much as I love it, its quite depressing thinking about how good we had it back then. The decline has been simply incredible, from 5 being little more than a graphics showcase, to 6 being generally liked because it was the closest to heights of 4, and just when I thought it couldn't get much worse than 7, Motorsport was released. The stubborn refusal to acknowledge what people loved, let alone reintroduce features has ended up with, as you said, the destruction of the series. It's like this game was conceived by people who had heard about GT Sport and never bothered to find out why it was popular (although not with a lot of fans of the old games). They just thought "ok, all eggs in the basket of multiplayer, but we won't go beyond just having a meaningless rating system, and we definitely won't consider what made Forza popular in the first place". Probably a pretty disjointed rant, but a rant nonetheless
When I found out that I had to unlock individual wheels sizes for each car I bought, I clocked out. Even EA wouldn’t stoop so low to kneecap freedom from the start of the game.
I had planned to buy this game before release, but the final straw for me was the nurburgring not being included on launch. Sure you dont need it for a racing game to be good, but for a game as big as motorsport to not include one of the worlds most famous race tracks on launch was just a really bad sign. Turns out my fears were completely true.
It genuinely baffles me that despite all the “changes” and “innovations” made over the years, Forza still feels like it’s in the same place it has been from a gameplay perspective since Motorsport 4. I’d love to go the Turn 10 offices for a couple of months and see how much actually gets done over there. Because from a customers perspective, I feel like I’ve been playing the same game for the last 10 years.
@@falcongamer58 Right? The only positive gameplay aspects they've added since 4 are wet and night races, and the more varied spec restrictions, even if Turn10 implemented those restrictions incredibly poorly in the single player and turned every race into a spec race...
@baronvonslambert they actually removed puddles in the current motorsport, last seen in Motorsport 7. Also, as controversial as it was, I miss the dynamic action camera from Motorsport 7
I'm currently working in a game studio where we also use outsourcing. But, it's important to realize what's actually being outsourced - assets (vehicles, environment objects, characters, ...). Can't image game design elements/mechanics being outsourced, because it would only make things more difficult and generally doesn't make sense (maybe if you have some veteran game designer as consultant). You're leaning little bit too much on this and extrapolating why the feel of the game is different. While I agree with you on the "empty/uninspired" feel, I don't think it's because of outsourcing.
I've been playing Forza Motorsport 3&4 on my PC for the last few weeks and it's still better than anything out there today. Between that, GT 3&4, GTR 1&2, Assetto Corsa, Rfactor, NR2K3 Season.. what else do I need? What's the point? I still run Forza 7 on my PC sometimes but that's only because I was able to pirate it because Microsoft won't even let me purchase the damn thing. For me, Forza Motorsport 3 was a watershed moment, and I don't see another racing sim being able to give me that again. I hope I'm wrong, but I ain't holdin my breath.
I don't really understand the people who still defends this game. Like, their whole reasoning behind Motorsport's flaws is that they haven't experience said flaws, and to me is just sad how this entire thing has unravelled. Is this really the standard behind the industry? Just to conform with whatever crap the people behind it just come with? They've sacrificed their entire fanbase and credibility to win what exactly? I simply don't understand, and it doesn't matter anyways because the damage is already done. There's no recovery from this.
The Devs seem to be more obsessed with removing any valid criticism from the forums than they are with fixing the core issues with the game. They spend their time fixing what isn't broken while day one issues persist in game. Every new update brings a slew of new performance issues and content that was obviously never play tested. I have over 1200hrs into the game- not because it's great, but because there isn't another sim (or sim adjacent) title that lets me modify shitboxes and race them where they shouldn't be, and the number of 'regular cars" (non- super rare/ highest spec models) has dwindles with every passing installment. I am critical of the game because no one wanted it to be a success more than I did. I was the biggest fan of the series from the moment I started playing the first installment on my roommate's Xbox in Iraq. The latest Motorsport feels like an insult.
The car auction was the best. Wish they would bring that back. Been a die hard COD and Motorsport fan since the 360 and they both always disappoint. Still play them though
Yeah I miss starting out with a Toyota Yaris or something and working your way from the F class all the way to R1 racecars, now they give stupid launch cars instead of money to buy your first car, and they used to make you go through all the classes and have you work your way up to faster cars, I miss the old days man
The biggest reasons I rarely play is that the single player is just not interesting and nearly every multiplayer lobby I enter has leas than 10 cars and often less than 5.
15:10 I wholeheartedly agree with this. FM is by far the only online "simcade" available for PC and primarily Xbox. It’s the only viable option if you want to enjoy some track racing with a controller. Good luck trying that with ACC or AC-you’ll be at a significant disadvantage. This is coming from someone who plays both titles with a wheel. In its current state, the game is "fine." Some areas have seen improvements, but it still lacks features compared to FH5. The graphics aren’t great but are usable. Lobbies are fairly clean, but it’s rare to have a 20+ player session without at least one person rage-quitting.
My point being the general feel of every comment is that this new forza is rubbish, absolutely, broken. To me it looks like it has so much potential, it does things other racers dont do, its got the chase cam which is so basic, other racers cant do, so much potential with the game if it gets cleaned up thoroughly for this iteration, it would be amazing, we all saw the e3 stuff, potential. However many just want the game amazing upfront, no mistakes, no questions, ill stick by turn 10 on this one, against all odds, even if they shutdown they did it well still
This was very well put together, as a long time Forza fan from the beginning (2005) Ive defended this franchise for so long hoping they would bounce back. My time has come, to let it go. I’ve been on ACC for the past 6 months on PC and tried peeking at FM with no reason to do more than just peek. As a game developer myself I definitely see how it all falls apart when studios don’t want to pay benefits so they offer short term contracts that lead to very chaotic development cycles. It’s sad but on the bright side, sim racing is growing fast and I’m enjoying this space right now. SUBSCRIBED
the problem to me is, that microsoft tries sooooo hard to be different from some of sony's competing titles to the point that the company ends up just making trash. this is why gt will always prevail over forza. its ok to copy a little.
But GT7 was garbage, all turn 10 had to do was copy and paste forza motorsport 7 content into the new engine, but no they had to make it fomo BS with less content than FM6.

I had an irking sort of feeling that the gap between Motorsport 7 and 8 meant that the game was probably going through really bad development Hell, just as most Microsoft projects end up going through.
Forza 4 was the pinnacle of the series. Forza 6 was the best on the modern xbox platform. I think that top level executives killed the game by making repeated decisions that demotivated management and developers alike and anyone that was good left.
The game definitely feels soulless. One thing that irritates me about Forza is the fact that they haven’t even made an effort to improve the car customization options. We’ve had the same one splitter and one spoiler option for just about every car for over a decade now I get it’s hard to add new visual parts for over 600+ cars but at the same time there’s several cars that could use new spoilers and bumpers and they just don’t add really anything other than maybe an ugly looking body kit. glad I got this game through game pass and didn’t spend any money on it. I’ve played a few races and have like no motivation to want to play more.
Bro, I truly miss Jeremy Clarkson explaining all the beautiful details of my favorite cars like I'm watching top gear! Great video brother. Keep up the good work! P.S. I hate this game!
well real question is why supporting microsoft? why supporting microsoft with their monopolizastion 70bn aquisition? because the outcome is this - this quality, halo infinite quality, redfall quality, dismantling studios, burning money ect ect
At the same time you have to give them credit for still releasing games very few actually care and most if not all big puplishers won't bother with at all. Age of Empires 4, Flight Simulator, Psychonauts 2, or doing remasters and re-releases of Golden Eye 007 (by a main competitor) Age of Mythology, The Bard's Tale etc. etc. etc. Putting some of the biggest releases AT release on game pass. Making plenty of Xbox games availible on PC for years by now. Sure you could argue PC gaming is also their platform in a way. I LOVED GranTurismo 5, still waiting for a PC version of any GranTurismo title. Honestly I see more love for gaming at Microsoft/Xbox than with UbiSoft, Blizzard, Bethesda, EA and what not.
It lacks soul. Forza used to have a driver level, car collection level, rare cars that can be missed but also found at the auction house. The career allowed you to drive all types of cars and work up to the highest class. This one is sterile and boring. Its only for hardcore sim fans where forza 7 was fun for everyone. They need a real campaign without warm up laps, collection levels with rewards, and driver levels with rewards to feel like forza. As it stands id rather play gt7, project cars 3, or forza 7.
Theory: "Ten years of support" just means occasional DLC cars. This will be on sales for the next ten years, and in the meantime, they will drop horizon every time they manage to model a region. To the "I want tracks" people, they will say "GO PLAY MOTORSPORT :D"
The biggest problem they face is that they’re bad at their own game. No one at the studio is a top tier player on either wheel or controller. They can’t test at the level they need to. They need to pay high tier racers to test and balance the game properly.
Completely agree. As a forza fan from FM3, this game is just hopeless on so many aspects. Thanks to FM7 for teaching me a hard lesson to not preorder any forza game, I was able to dodge this one easily.
I played it for a month, but it was a nightmare. people constantly ramming, and smashing you off. it was basically unplayable. This was in higher lobbies too. Not bloody amateur ones. Literally, no enjoyment from it at all, just utter frustration, every time.
Even though I 100000% agree with EVERYTHING you said. Trust me I'm sub to a channel that compares their shit models to GT7s pristine models. But Forza has updated their car sounds, most notable the horrendous sounds of the LFA actually sound decent. Also the light intensity of the head and back lights of the car, though not on the level of GT7, shine better (they need to fix the intensity in day time. But yeah overall it's still needs an exorcism, but give credit to where it's due.
Honestly, Forza had everything during 3-4 to smash Gran Turismo's troublesome development and ever-confusing direction, they could've double down on the features loved by almost everyone, but instead, they became more confused themselves, whilst betraying the fans that had been at their side throughout the competition. And now T10 is not even a husk of its former self.
To be honest. Even being a GT7 player, i expected awesome things with Forza Motorsport, when i saw the Trailer i wqs excited and how it would be. But the final dissapointed me, more than GT7 (Only bad things was micro but other was OK not good, not bad) it make me have Turn 10 like the worst of the worst. It's unbeliable that Forza Motorsports maked promises and alot of things and features that step up like a Simulator and not even a Simcade game. But no, they stayed in the same thing without fight against the kings (Assetto Corsa Competizione, Rfactor2, Iracing, Automobilista 2 and others) but preffered stayed fighting against GT7 i mean... Holy God, really? Made from the Ground and not even these updates still having flaws, im glad they make the game more enjoyable but no, it's not Next Gen and still not being a Next Gen game even having those updates.
The problem with contract teams is that every time you bring in a new one, they spend half their time catching up on what the old team did before they can even develop anything new. Contracted developers are cheap and by keeping the contract length low, Microsoft wanted to lower development costs and it came at the expense of a quality game. I regret even buying this game but at least I bought it on sale. Should have returned it when I got bogged down in 20 minutes of useless, unskippable tutorials and cutscenes the moment I booted it up
Big part of the gaming community for forza motorsport series were the differnt race lobbies. Its a shame they got rid of drift lobbies, no point in playing forza no more
motorsport 8 is really good, as well as motorsport 5. playing it on hardcore settings: -manual transmission with clutch. -no rewind -fuel consumption & tire wear on simulation. -wide camera angle setting (to feel speed) -damage on simulation plus all the other immersive settings that I can't recall right now.
So FM8 has better multiplayer racing than FM7. The inclusion of a penalty system, even a broken one, is better than the ram sessions that occured on FM7. The addition of endurance racing and the new addition of multiclass racing is very good, and I'm glad it's there. The problem with FM8 is it's not a great motorsport game. It's a car game more than a motorsport game. It focuses too much on driving as many difference cars as possible, similar to Horizon, which is a problem. I think if they had gotten rid of the majority of standard road cars and focused on a good career mode where you start in an FIAT Abarth series, then move to a Touring Car series, then a GT4, GT3, GT2, Le Mans, and maybe even open wheelers, it could've been a lot better. They recently added NASCAR to the game, and it's great fun, and the next thing they're adding is a V8 Supercar tour with Mount Panorama being added to the game. I think they needed their version of GT Sport. Focus on the racing, focus on the stuff around racing, and people will have fun. Want to Drive the latest hypercars? You got Horizon. Want to drive a GT3 car around Spa? Motorsport. Too many ideas, too much material, not enough focus.
The biggest fun for me was when the track would disappear from under my car...it was especially fun when it happened in corners. Great stuff. And they didn't fix it for months.
I have played it for total of 3 hours and 40 minutes on keyboard. Then stopped, to consult my friend if he will be playing it, after getting negatory I unintalled. Glad to see I have missed not a single thing and saved money/time.
My main issue is they have a whole page of known issues and it feels like looking at a shopping list getting fixed one at a time. The AI not being affected by wet roads is quite frankly a big issue second to the piss poor AI. Stability was worked on but now it’s the lack of playing styles and the AI
It sucks because Forza motorsport was what got me into racing games as a kid. Always a great time and the games are so much fun. Then apparently they rebuilt it for this new game and yet this game comes absolutely nowhere even close to GT7… GT 7 has its own problems, but this game is far behind in every way possible.
It just feels too unnatural and electronic. I dont even have to play it, I can tell based on gameplay videos, and my experience in past Forza games. It has slowly gone down hill after Horizon 3 in my opinion. Probably the biggest selling point for me is sound, and after that the driving experience. The car sounds are nothing like they used to be. I especially started to notice this in FM6, and then FM7 was the nail in the coffin for me. I recently played Horizon 1 and I was so excited to play it again. It just sounds so good, and the racing doesn't feel so electronic and precise. If you compare the sound of the Lexus LFA or Pagani Zonda R from FM4 and Horizon 1 to the newest Forza games, it's just crazy. It sounds so fake and electronic and really takes away from the game play. Took a quick look in the Xbox aisle at the store today and my jaw dropped when I saw Motorsport selling for $30. It has fallen so far.
Grew up playing the original Forza in my room meanwhile my Dad and I would play 4 together in the living room. This game (along with Nascar and Local track racing) got me into cars. I still remember finding the Scion xB and the Ford Mustang SCCA Tiger car and wanting those cars in real life in my own 4-6 year old mind. when 5-7 was released, I still played them and was upset by the bugs and glitches in the games but still had friends online that we could screw around with the game and make the most of it. I bought a Series S being my first console I bought with my own money and was excited to see and play the new Forza Horizon game and yet was disappointed in it after not even an hour playing, Same thing with Forza 8/Motorsport. Calling this the same as the first game is an embarrassment. I feel bad for the younger generations who get feed slop and lies unlike the generations before them, not experiencing the title the same way we had as kids or teens. Obviously I think this is just a common issue with modern gaming, not just the racing genre. All we want is a playable and fun experience for all! (keep in mind I was born in 04, yet Im buying games for the same Xbox I had in my room. Modern gaming sucks rn :/)
Well said!!! Unfortunately, it's not about development, it's about putting money into the mothership's pocket! Corporations realized fancy talk sell games, not the execution of the final product. And this new generation operating model, sell broken products, fix later is the way to go. Sad to say!
The biggest issue to me is the handling. Every car is like driving on ice, i can barely feel the tire is on its limit. Cars are always understeer, but when it oversteer is so hard to save. Maybe just me, it's hard to correct the racing line by using the controller. I have played multiple racing games by using controller, including old Motorsports. What i can say is this is the worst experience i have ever had in whole Forza franchise.
yeah fm8 has whatever controller "assists" hard coded into the game. so even when youre playing with everything pro and unassisted settings, youre still getting speed sensitive steering , which leads to the chronic understeer from controllers, and if you somehow oversteer, they actually give you full steering lock, but only in the countersteer direction. so in every turn, while on controller, you'll have maybe 20% of your full steering lock going into the turn, and then trying to save a slide requires you to recalibrate your brain for 100% steering lock in the opposite direction, which youll probably over correct for, meaning youre now going out of the turn, again with 20% of your steering lock. its such a dumb system, made for such a specific style of driving. and when people tell me "you gotta tune the cars to make them drive well" i tune it out, because i shouldnt have to tune a car to get it to behave somewhere in the realm of actual reality.
I just played it for the first time yesterday, and was really disappointed and annoyed. The amount of hand-holding and forced tutorials is a complete turn off. Also don't like the progression system. Forcing me to do these races in the beginning and only giving me the choice between 3 cars they don't even show me the statistics of, then push you into the cup. As someone who has played through GT4 and GT5 recently, the lack of freedom to how to progress, lack of style, hand-holding, car opponents that crash into you and heavy steering with controller has already made me doubt if I'll continue to play the game, even if I have "free access" to it on game pass.
The moment Dan Greenawalt wasn’t involved it went very badly down hill. They wanted it to appeal to the more casual player, so they add more road cars than racing cars. Microsoft Games Studios isn’t listening to the community when it come to car and track voting on the forums. Sure you can blame the pandemic for the delays but it fully falls on Microsoft
I have more fun playing NFS Shift 2 than playing Forza motorsport, how can a game from 13 years ago have better progression system, better car sound, better crash physics with even wheels coming off your car, more detailed interiors for cars and even better driver hand movement for changing gear and even better sense of speed is beyond me At this point the only thing built from the ground up in Forza Motorsport was the way they do slave labor at turn10
They have drift mode it was a silent update they added not long ago how did you forget that ? They even added drift cars and fixed alotttttt of bugs the game is much better.
The whole situation is rather simple, games are not just a piece of software or a product per se, especially in AAA, developing interactive entertainment media is more an artform than suit and ties executives want to admit, it's like creating any songs or movies. Tone, consistency, passion, immersiveness, these intangible aspects are way more important than anything. AAA titles, in this case a "sim" type circut racing game is not for tablet playing kids or teens exactly. If you wanna cut cost or half ass your project you bet people can sniff it out. GT7 on the other hand is either grind it out or buy the in game money via microtransaction but you can just tell a group of people pour their heart and soul into it just by looking at the car model.
I can’t stand the fact there’s one f**ing playlist a week. The only two good classes in the game to race are S and R. A and P are debatable for me Yet we have to wait week in week out where they add E class, C class, B class, all the shit classes nobody cares about Why the f**k can’t we just have EVERYTHING available at once and we can pick and choose what class we wanna race in? Almost like that’s how it used to be in the good old days It’s embarrassing
Totally agree with you, Forza used to be my go to game, bought Forzamotorsport, slowly all my racing buddies drifted away, carried on playing, thinking they'll come back, the longer I played on my own, the more I realized what a dumpster fire it is, haven't picked it up in at least 4 months now, have hovered over the uninstall button several times, but can't bring myself to do it !
This game is outdated. My biggest issue w this game is the lack of tracks & the availability to share your tunes with others. It's a bland environment when people use the same car made by the same tuner.
Lack of good music and style is really what kills the experience for me, racing games often doesn't have a story mode and they usually look the same, unless they are something like Unbound but music and style makes all the difference, however FM just feels bland and half finished, they got the cars and tracks in it, afterwards they called it finished.
If T10 got anything right with this entry, it's accessibility. As a blind gamer, there are very few complaints/additions I would make to what they've pulled off. They've opened the door for blind players to actually race cars about as well as sighted people. I just hope now that that barrier has been broken that either T10, or whoever takes up the mantle next, includes or improves upon the work that's been done.

The insult to injury is that GT7 has seemingly come back with the release of new updates where they added a campaign, cars that people actually want, and are constantly improving the physics and sound effects that make it a genuine racing sim.
Yep! Been playing it these past few months and genuinely impressed at how far the games come!
GT7 now versus launch is a huge improvement. There are gripes that there's not enough new cars and tracks, but every update and all new content is free. GT7 is now, in late 2024, a good game. Not without some frustrations, but it's a genuinely *good* game.

Currently Forza lacks on graphics, sound (Although sounding good, it is very unrealistic, specially the cockpit view sound), and the physics… lets say it reminds of Need for Speed Shift 2… in a bad way…
I’m not a Forza fan, always have been and always will be manly a GT guy.

Bro, customization is the cornerstone of Need For Speed. EA wouldn't stoop to that low because they quite literally can't

By gameplay you mean driving physics? Because it's a downgrade in most other aspects

The tag line they should have gone for should be “Consistently nearly as good as Forza 4 since 2013.”

So the game is still playable

the problem to me is, that microsoft tries sooooo hard to be different from some of sony's competing titles to the point that the company ends up just making trash. this is why gt will always prevail over forza. its ok to copy a little.
All Microsoft had to do was pay Turn 10 to copy Gran Turismo 7 while taking into account the negative reviews and community suggestions of the game.

I had an irking sort of feeling that the gap between Motorsport 7 and 8 meant that the game was probably going through really bad development Hell, just as most Microsoft projects end up going through.
My favorite core memories invocke FM2. The soundtrack, the roster, the attention to detail. What a tragic decline
I’ve played a few races and have like no motivation to want to play more.

well real question is why supporting microsoft? why supporting microsoft with their monopolizastion 70bn aquisition? because the outcome is this - this quality, halo infinite quality, redfall quality, dismantling studios, burning money ect ect
We need an Aucion house. I missed a few cars because of not being able to play for a few months.
If they couldn't make a half-finished game after 6 years, what makes people expect the game to be that much better after a year?
Accept it's a lot better after a year, not as good as it could be but still.
4:16 that shit was heavily felt sir!
Theory:
"Ten years of support" just means occasional DLC cars.
So the only thing "from the ground up" was the actual team developing this game, now it makes sense
The whole camera thing with gt7 is a huge turnoff for me
Wym? You can go into settings and make it the same chase cam as Forza.
@Galm1 its still not the same to me imo
The moment they confirmed they'd remove all the fantasy tracks was when I decided I was never gonna touch this.

-manual transmission with clutch.
-no rewind
-fuel consumption & tire wear on simulation.
-wide camera angle setting (to feel speed)
-damage on simulation

They haven't even fixed the tachometers in 4 vehicles. It's like they never even tested it.
It seems to me that 2 years will pass and the game won't change, because the developers only add new cars and change playlists in online races
With this and Halo, I'm genuinely confused why Xbox (and other publishers) seem to think passion is a bad thing.
The abbreviation for Car Points and them actively using it really solidifies the overall lack of awareness of anybody at the studio lmfao

This is not a motorsport problem, thats a microsoft problem. Just look at windows, it still has parts from windows 95
Yeah, I also have a lot of XP on Fortnite

Unfortunately, the execution in Forza 8 is more than flawed and the career mode is the most boring and uninspired of the entire series.
What i can say is this is the worst experience i have ever had in whole Forza franchise.
i moved to assetto corsa waaay better
yeah fm8 has whatever controller "assists" hard coded into the game. so even when youre playing with everything pro and unassisted settings, youre still getting speed sensitive steering , which leads to the chronic understeer from controllers, and if you somehow oversteer, they actually give you full steering lock, but only in the countersteer direction. so in every turn, while on controller, you'll have maybe 20% of your full steering lock going into the turn, and then trying to save a slide requires you to recalibrate your brain for 100% steering lock in the opposite direction, which youll probably over correct for, meaning youre now going out of the turn, again with 20% of your steering lock. its such a dumb system, made for such a specific style of driving. and when people tell me "you gotta tune the cars to make them drive well" i tune it out, because i shouldnt have to tune a car to get it to behave somewhere in the realm of actual reality.
my online game chat doesn’t even work. shit 90% of the game doesn’t even work properly 😭
Um you don't have to use any of the assist, and after those cars in the beginning you can just play the gamee the way you want.
I have more fun playing NFS Shift 2 than playing Forza motorsport, how can a game from 13 years ago have better progression system, better car sound, better crash physics with even wheels coming off your car, more detailed interiors for cars and even better driver hand movement for changing gear and even better sense of speed is beyond me
At this point the only thing built from the ground up in Forza Motorsport was the way they do slave labor at turn10
No vr is a deal breaker for me.
They have drift mode it was a silent update they added not long ago how did you forget that ? They even added drift cars and fixed alotttttt of bugs the game is much better.
The game has improved over time. It could be better but hey.
Just wait another year and we're going to get the phantom liberty dlc for Forza
"Still don't have drifting"
This was uploaded 2 days ago. Yes we do have drifting. You're wrong on that one.
I can’t stand the fact there’s one f**ing playlist a week. The only two good classes in the game to race are S and R. A and P are debatable for me
Yet we have to wait week in week out where they add E class, C class, B class, all the shit classes nobody cares about
Why the f**k can’t we just have EVERYTHING available at once and we can pick and choose what class we wanna race in? Almost like that’s how it used to be in the good old days
It’s embarrassing
Totally agree with you, Forza used to be my go to game, bought Forzamotorsport, slowly all my racing buddies drifted away, carried on playing, thinking they'll come back, the longer I played on my own, the more I realized what a dumpster fire it is, haven't picked it up in at least 4 months now, have hovered over the uninstall button several times, but can't bring myself to do it !
This game is outdated. My biggest issue w this game is the lack of tracks & the availability to share your tunes with others. It's a bland environment when people use the same car made by the same tuner.
if GT comes out on PC this franchise will unalive itself.
