I'm an ageing Scotsman. When I was a teenager in the seventies I used to visit the cinema in our damp, dark, West Highland town every week and watch films like Electra Glide in Blue and Easy Rider. I'd dream of one day driving through Monument Valley, thundering along in a Mustang Fastback while listening to America's Horse With No Name - with my long hair blowing in the hot dry wind. Last year, in my mid-fifties, I eventually drove through Monument Valley. The hair was grey and thin, there was a thunder storm, and I was driving a Nissan Sentra hire car. But I did have Horse With No Name playing as I drove through the rain and lightning. And it was still a dream come true. Well worth a visit, and thanks to the Navajo people for a hospitable couple of nights in the valley. Maybe I'll get back there some day.
@newland50 I live here in the states and some way feel drawn to visit, At 68 years I'm not getting any younger but for reasons I can't go right now, But for god sake it better be soon.
Man, i love this movie of the Monument Valley. A nice couple of film shots made in this famous Navajo desert. I have respect for the Navajo Indians. The music of Ferde Grofé what calls 'The Painted Desert (Grand Canyon Suite II)' gives me a lot of goosebumps and a great smile. From timestamp 2:20 to timestamp 3:07, the music reminds me of the Finale of Leonard Bernstein's West Side Story musical. Dear Christopher Swainhart, you have made and uploaded a very beautiful and colourful picture of the Monument Valley in fast motion from sunrise to sunset and moonrise. Like I wrote before, I love this movie!
i visited monument valley in late 2012, and plan to be there again early in 2017, i found it the most wonderful , spiritual place i have ever witnessed. i rode horse with the dine´(navajo) guide up to the mittens . what an experience!!
Love the footage. Goulding's Lodge at Monument Valley is a great place to stay to experience gorgeous scenery. Sit back and watch the shadows from you balcony.
If you ever go there, you should try and spend the night at the View Hotel - but get a cabin. We stayed two nights in a cabin and it had absolutely the best view of the valley ( 2:50 in this video was precisely the view we had). Our verandah looked directly on to the"Mittens" - we could sit in comfort and watch the amazing sunset with a glass of wine. Beautiful. Actually, we still had a great view of the valley sitting on our bed in the cabin. A fantastic experience. We saw a lot of amazing sights travelling around but this was the best.
I drove back there from Calif. back in Sept. of 1996. I didn't plan for it at the time I set out on my trip across the high desert & canyon lands, but I ended up arriving here on the night of a total lunar eclipse. That was kind of cool.
The most beautiful place on Earth quite frankly, and the most peaceful. There is something absolutely primordial about this place, almost as in, if I stayed long enough I would become religious.
I live in Sedona not far away but not been here since the 1970s. It was awesome, you captured it so well, what kind of camera do you use? Simply amazing video....the music is perfect, very Disney.
Amazing video, amazing Monument Valley. Thank you!! P.S. Went horse back riding there, it is simply aaaawwwwwwsomeeeeee!!! I suggest it to everyone who can ride a horse!!
I found you through suggested videos. First your videos are fun to watch. You got some great shots and have some great editing ideas for me to learn. I just made a RUclips channel so I’m definitely doing my research. Thanks for all your help. - Keep it up! Just subbed!
Yep this is our land, Navajo land. Its kinda sad that non-Native people come and think its just a park where you can play and have fun....remember its sacred to the Navajos. So when you come be respectful.
P.Anthony Lasiloo .... I have been very fortunate & blessed to have experience this AMAZING location several tumes 🌞... One of my most memorable, was on a full moon night .... It was in every word... SPIRITUAL & unforgettable!
Hello, thanks for amazing video with good choosen music. I would like to drive our white Škoda 125 there or my motorcycle Jawa 250 :-) I was searching for Android game Monument Valley because there is now Black friday discounts on Google Play store :-D but game not impressed me that much like this video. Greetings from Slovakia ;-)
I really like your video.Amazing! I subscribed. You know I just need a few details for my guitar video. Will you allow me to use your movie? Thank you in advance for your answer.
Why so many cars. It is a great pity, because this place is a sacred place. It belongs to the Navajo nation. We must respect this place and their people.
They're sitting and waiting to another chance to be transmute from the" misere" waters of the celestial light that is coming very soon from the Great Central Sun .... the heart of the living God - the ONE

Esses monumentos foram feitos após o secamento do dilúvio que Deus mandou na era de Noé
Somehow what you say rings true. We ignore the Bible at our peril. Thanks for watching and for your comment.
