the copper will get to the duos eventually, but after shooting for too long, you are left with a couple duos with way too much ammo and duos without ammo. However, if you get to that point in game, you should be able to switch them for arcs and scatters.

There is a mod that makes steam generator even better Its called v5 reborn But you'll have to research steam first before you get access to it Only needs 2 mechanical pumps to power one ,it is also tileable
The router spam to output ammo to duos is not effective, if 2 or more routers are next to each other, directly outputting / passing the items they get clogged up or rather say get much slow, it's faster and more reliable to have 1 router directly inserting ammo into the Duo then 2 belts from the side into the neighbouring duos
Vaults carrying some mats can explode and set off a chain that blows up the core. V6, steam gems now require one water pump/extractor each. Don't do router chains, they are slow and are going to get you lots of noob comments for doing so. /\ But who cares if you play singleplayer.

The sorter: you choose which item type you want, that one gets to continue straight through and anything else goes to the sides. Inverted sorter: the opposite, you choose an item type and that one is put out to the sides, everything else goes straight.

How do you determine the correct amount/ratio of duos to routers?

Right? If you don’t have enough ammo being used, i usually build until the ones on the end start slowing down
